First of all, we were on a very tight schedule and needed to get our inspection done quickly. The inspector, Josh, came in on a Sunday afternoon and did a very thorough inspection. He talked to me throughout so I always knew what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also gave me a lot of recommendations for things to make our condo more user-friendly. He answered all of my questions and explained things to me in a way that I could understand with my very limited knowledge of all things related to the construction and inner-workings of a home. We had blocked out a time for roughly four hours but because our condo was pretty small, it didn't take Josh that long. In light of this, Josh readjusted the price so I ended up paying less than I expected. He also explained other available services but was very upfront with me about them not being necessary for my particular unit in an effort to save me money and not waste any of my time. I really appreciate that this is a company who is honest and fair and not out to take advantage of people like me who are clueless when it comes to this field. Finally, Josh was super diligent in getting home and getting our report written up and submitted so that we were able to make our closing on time. Everything easy to read and the report included very clear pictures that helped us know what steps we needed to take. If we move down the road, I'll definitely call By-Lions for the Home Inspection and will be recommending them to anyone I know who is buying a house. Our real estate agent gave us his name for our new home inspection and I cannot stress enough how important having an inspector is if you are buying new or pre-owned. Jon was amazing. Very thorough and professional. It was an education just to watch him work. He checked out the outside of the house, the inside, the attic, ALL of the windows, ALL of the electrical outlets, smoke detectors and more. He even tested the appliances. Seriously! The man brought a pyrex cup which he used to fill with water and put in the microwave to test it out. He ran the dishwasher; he looked at things I would never have thought to look at. The turnaround for his report was just hours and it was detailed with pictures. He went over his report with me before he left the home and the piece of mind he gave me was worth every last penny! He had no problems answering questions, as I asked. The inspection took longer than I expected, but that is a good thing! That shows he is very thorough in his work, and doesn't overlook anything. Paul D arrived on time, inspected the mold in our dining area and other areas of the home. He took…read moretwo air samples and said we would have the results in 2 days. We were anxious to get the results as we wanted to know if we needed to move out until the problem was remedied. It has been 2 weeks and no results, no updates. It appears he screens his phone calls. He has not responded to our emails and phones calls, after my first follow-up call. I don't know why he has become unresponsive but he did cash our $225 check.
