After the appointment with the doctor, I apparently was not pushing the patient's wheelchair fast enough up to the reception desk and she shrieked out "Hurry up!" Loud enough to cause other patients sitting in the waiting room to look up, startled. Maybe this particular receptionist needs more customer service training, but she certainly needs more training on interacting with people with disabilities.

Krzyzak Eyecare was recommended more than anyone else, so I decided to give them a try, and I'm very happy that I did. It did take a few months to get in there initially, so if you are reading this and thinking about schedueling an appointment, plan accordingly. While I usually hate waiting, I considered this to be a good sign that people are happy here and that I was making a good choice. For my exam, I met with Dr. Michael Krzyzak, who I felt was very personable and did an excellent job explaining what he was doing and what the best options were for my situation. After the exam I met with the absolutely wonderful Alicia, who helped me pick out my new frames and was very thorough in making sure that she had the perfect measurements for my new progressive lenses. When someone knows what they are doing like she did, it adds a whole new level of value to buying your glasses in house, rather than online. And when I came back to pick up my new glasses, she made me feel like a VIP even though I am new to the practice. The whole experience was everything that I could have asked for and I'm so grateful to have found an eyecare team that I have complete confidence in and will now stick with.

In years gone by, Dr. Piper of The Eye Care Center advised me against getting prescription glasses, noting that "cheaters" would be enough for me. She was obviously looking out for the patient's best interest; but, as I have aged, my distance vision has slipped. I can still pass a motor vehicle eye test, but it is not the clarity that I once had. With this in mind, I went to The Eye Care Center to improve my condition by way of a vision screening. After a series of chart readings and responses to the question of, "which is better," I received their prescription. Relying on their motto of, "See the Difference!" I expected "better" vision. No one cautioned me any that my condition would result in an imperceptible improvement (basically unnoticeable) in distance vision. Instead, they compounded the situation by upselling me on additional options that resulted in ballooning personal expense which were useless without improved vision. Thus, if you go to The Eye Care Center of Geneva, don't assume that they have your best interests in their mind. They upsell their products; and, completely neglect to tell you that you may not see any improvement. I would strongly advise anyone to: 1) ask pointed questions about future improved vision performance, and 2) to realize you can often get the same results at a discount optical center - - - and, sometimes get more than one pair of glasses for a far lesser cost! BUYER BEWARE! The Eye Care Center of Geneva has lost my business and probably should not get yours.

My appointment was in November at which time I had ordered Trial Contacts and they said it would be either delivered to them or my home address. All of November and most of December passes. No calls and no deliveries. After Christmas I had called them to follow up and inquire if my contacts had arrived yet since they weren't delivered to my home. The staff said that they were delivered to their office last month (no one notified me of this), but they cannot locate them in the office. They had multiple staff searching in the back with no luck. The staff then said since they lost my contacts that they can order 2 trial contacts to make up for it. I agreed to this gingerly. They said that the contacts will arrive in one week. A week passes and I call them for a follow up, the staff reported that my contacts are on the delivery truck set to be delivered at 9pm and that they will call me the morning after. The morning after no one called. I called their office at 5pm yesterday and the staff reported "We don't have them it usually takes 2 weeks." I told them that the staff yesterday informed me that they were on a delivery truck for last night. The staff then stated "We have different tracking systems and sometimes they're not right." I am also waiting on a pair of glasses, but I had just ordered those last week so I know those take time, but it has been 2 months waiting for trial contacts.
