She then said a supervisor cancelled my daughter's appointment, I told her I did not authorize that, and then received an email 10 minutes later stating patient requested a cancellation! Stay away from this man. He is a frustrated comedian who apparently would rather be doing comedy…read morethan surgery, but the damage he caused to my foot is no joke. Dr, Smith purported to repair my foot which had arthritis. He attempted to fix a slight hammer toe but instead he made it horribly pronounced instead. It is quite painful now where there was no pain there before the surgery. The hammer toe now overlaps my large toe. Further, my toes look like a Dr. Suess cartoon gone wrong. He shortened my little toe so much that for the first year after the surgery I was WALKING ON TOP OF IT. Orthotics have helped a little bit in keeping my toe from rolling UNDER my foot. An orthopedic surgeon I consulted later said the unsatisfactory result was likely caused by the original surgeon rushing through the job. The whole foot now looks deformed; before the surgery it looked like a normal foot. Dr. Smith does not appear to be a serious man. He also is a lousy comedian. Seek help from him at your peril.

Since the beginning of this year, I have been trying to schedule an appointment. Instead of helping me move forward, the assistant told me that Dr. Holamandara would not see me until I had an MRI. She instructed me to ask my primary care physician to order it. That made no sense because the specialist is the one requesting the MRI and should be responsible for providing the appropriate referral or coordinating the necessary steps. Because I had previously seen Dr. Pativanda for the same condition, I was then told that they would contact Dr. Pativanda's office to request the MRI referral. That was over four months ago. Since then, I have called both offices every couple of weeks asking for an update. Dr. Holamandara's office and Dr. Pativanda's office are located directly across from each other in the same building, yet no one seems able to communicate or provide answers. Neither office has followed up with me, returned my calls with a solution, or taken ownership of resolving the issue. The lack of communication, coordination, and accountability has delayed my medical care for months. As a patient, I should not have to spend months chasing down referrals and repeatedly calling multiple offices just to get a simple answer. Patients deserve timely communication, clear guidance, and staff who are willing to help instead of passing responsibility to someone else. I hope this office improves its patient care and communication because no one seeking medical treatment should have to go through this experience.
