I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

He replaced the capacitor (a part that costs roughly $30) and also recommended replacing another component that he said was nearing the end of its lifespan, even though it was not causing any issues at the time. We were billed approximately $220, which we paid. However, after the repair, our AC was still blowing warm air. Instead of feeling like the problem had been diagnosed and resolved, it seemed as though the technician was more focused on selling additional repairs than fixing the actual issue. When we contacted the office to explain that the AC was still not working, we were told they could send another technician--but we would have to pay another $97 service call fee, in addition to the cost of any further repairs. After I explained that the original visit had not resolved the problem, I was told that only the owner could approve waiving the additional service fee. Two days later, we still had not heard back from the owner. That lack of follow-up reflects poorly on the company's customer service and professionalism. Based on our experience, we will not use Blake's HVAC again and cannot recommend them. There are many reputable, honest, and professional HVAC companies serving Davis, West Sacramento, Winters, and Dixon. It's disappointing when a successful business appears to lose sight of the importance of customer service and standing behind its work.

They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did!
