I had an excellent experience with Greiner. First, Ray came out to diagnose my old AC unit as it was making a strange whirring noise. He suggested that I probably get the unit replaced but told me that a design specialist would come out the next day to explain my options to me. Second, Alex came the next day. He went into my attic checked out my system and thoroughly explained to me my options and what I needed to repair things, but also what I could potentially do to improve the system effeciencies and personal comfort with a newer system. Alex was not pushy to improve to the most expensive unit and provided really good thoughtful advice on the best option for me and my family. Third, Eduardo and Marcus came out for the install. Both arrived promptly and worked effecienctly with respect for my home. They did a great job with the installation, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood how to use my system before they left. They were also very clean and cleaned up after their departure. Ernesto, Armando, and Marco also joined Eduardo and Marcus during the install and everyone was extremely professional. Fourth, about a week after the install, there was a small issue with one of the units and Greiner sent out a technician within an hour. Ernesto came out, diagnosed the issue, and resolved it very promptly. I highly reccomend giving Greiner a bid for any future HVAC projects you may have. So, our AC unit kinda went kaput, as far as we were aware, and its over twenty three years old, this was July fourth. We panicked as it was super hot, my parents are elderly and we have pets. Greiner was my first call, then five others. We finally got one from another company, for a July five appointment, he said unit was toast, offered replacement and price for new system. Greiner completely revamped our existing HVAC system. They installed new units and added zoning to our two story home. Our old gas furnace was replaced by an electric unit and they freed up a closet for us, which is awesome. Since they also do electrical work, it was a one-stop shop for the entire project. The electricians also put recessed lights in our family room and ceiling lights in all the bedrooms. We couldn't be happier with everything. The new system works great and is much more efficient. Greiner's scheduled maintenance checks, one for heating, one for cooling, are a great value. We recently received our cooling season service. Ray and Angel were thorough and considerate, fine-tuning our system, cleaning the coils and monitoring the performance of the equipment. Turns out our compressor is drawing a little more electricity than normal. No hard-sell, Ray and Angel were forthright about this, explained options and followed up with a quote with several options via email the next day. Greiner replaced our old system with a new heat pump furnace and AC system. They also installed a tankless water heater. While the work done was good, they seem very high priced and are constantly pushing add-ons and extras. I should have gotten more estimates. I also recommend always taking a day or two and researching the add-ons they will try to sell you later on. I am not sure but their technicians may be selling you equipment on a commission, which seems like a conflict of interest between serving the customer and adding to their paycheck. So overall I would compliment the quality of the work but question the super high pricing and pressure to buy add-ons. Shop around. read more

With the weather warming up we decided to test out the air conditioner and good thing we did. It was not cooling and so had to call someone. We called another place but they couldn't fit us in until next Tuesday. After checking on the warranty we decided to call the manufacturer who ended up giving us Greiners name and connecting us to the company. They gave us a Saturday time but ended up calling us later in the day saying they were in the neighborhood. We were home so perfect timing. They did an inspection and found refrigerant was low. After checking a few other possibilities it was settled on the refrigerant. Jacob was very friendly, explained everything and made sure to wear a mask and booties in the house. Very happy with the response and with the service. He said if any issues to contact them again and they would be out. Thank you for the great service. read more

I asked for a quote which was performed by their estimator who was VERY personable and professional. I wanted to look at a mini split system rather than replace my original compressor and ducting system for which I had already received a quote from another HVAC contractor. The quote was figured by entering numbers into his laptop in a program. The number it came out with was 150% of the quote to replace the existing system. Also, the program provided NO breakdown of the estimate showing equipment and installation numbers separately. As an engineer, I am use to getting quotes in a format showing all separate associated costs. I asked if they could do the installation of owner purchased equipment and he said " We don't do it that way" I know they have a good reputation but the quote received was WAY TO HIGH! read more

Our AC failed during the big heat wave in September in Dixon. Since Greiner installed our AC system, I called them to come out and diagnose the problem. The tech arrived the next day and said the problem was a burst capacitor. I asked how much to replace that part and they quoted $300+. I thought, "this must be a really expensive capacitor!" They put in about an hour of work. Later, I found the capacitor only costs about $17. So we paid about $325 for one hour's work! In addition to that, we still had to pay the initial "visit fee" of about $90. One would think they'd drop that, since the real job was so expensive. I'm through using Greiner -- they are way too expensive. read more

My parents had Greiner out to look at their thermostat. the unit on the wall wasn't showing the numbers clearly and wouldn't change temp. the technician that came out told them they needed a new thermostat and it would cost $1600 dollars. taking complete advantage of elder folks. thankfully my parents said no. we were able to replace the thermostat for $140. i don't recommend this company and be very cautious and get a second opinion if you have them out. read more

We just wrapped up a very large job with Greiner and I must say you get what you pay for... In a good way.. They were definitely not the cheapest bid we got, in fact, they were one of the higher bids, but the attention to detail, the customer service, and just plainly their behavior during their project made it worth every penny. We replaced our entire HVAC system, including all of the duct work in our attic. It was a very big job, but at every corner, they took the time to constantly describe every detail and explain things to my elderly mom (since it was her home). Even when some small mistakes were made, we noticed some small leakages, they immediately came out several times to make sure it was taken care of right away. I only had one issue with their work, and they promptly came back and fixed it - so great resolution of problems! We had an HVAC tech come out to repair our a/c. Our unit needed a capacitor however the tech told us he had run out of our type of capacitor even though it's a common type. He said he had a more expensive type on the truck and could repair it immediately or else we would have to wait a week for him to return with the correct part. We were going through a heat wave of temperatures over 100 degrees at the time. He told us they only refill their trucks once a week. We felt we had not much of a choice so we were forced to buy the more expensive type so we could get some cooling after a week without it. Our tech also tried to get us to replace parts we didn't need and when we didn't choose the more expensive offers, our tech suddenly became cool and distant when he was very friendly before. We will never call this company again. They overcharged us as well for a simple repair. Don't use this company! read more
