Our AC is on its last legs an I was dreading the summer so we finally decided to get our AC serviced. I think it was a Friday night and I sent a quote request on Yelp and Roi reached out right away, offered a quote to take a look at it. Scheduled a visit to the following Monday. They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. Slimy, sleazy and incredibly sketchy high pressure sales tactics. They came out in the spring of 2024 to assess and bid replacement of our defunct HVAC system. The technician seemed skilled and spent time discussing maintenance with me, which I was impressed by and appreciative of. Once his sales colleague arrived--late, and from "a meeting"--the tone of the interaction changed. There was a lot of back-and-forth with the "sales manager" returning to his vehicle to "talk with his manager" about the quoted price, pressuring me to lock in on a contract right then, and fear mongering about how bad it would be for me to NOT urgently replace my system. I requested a breakdown of the ~$35k quote (mind you these are 2024 prices) and he could not, in any way, separate material from labor costs or define specifics aside from the AC unit brand. He treated me like I was an idiot for asking. I was so turned off by the experience that we muddled through 2 Sacramento summers without A/C. I have since worked with 3 other companies--including Bell Brothers--who provided professional, up front, pleasant experiences. read more

We contacted Atticman because we needed insulation in our attic removed so our house could be rewired. We also discussed an ongoing problem with air flow to some of the rooms in our home. Our system is about 4 years old and, despite promises made by the installing contractor, these problems were never solved. We talked to other contactors who suggested replacing the new duct work with newer duct work! Atticman's solution was to modify the duct work and install a larger return. These changes indeed fixed our air flow problem. They also cleaned and sanitized our attic, removed the old insulation, sealed any openings and installed new insulation after the rewiring was completed. All the employees who came were competent, personable and professional. They arrived on time, made sure work areas were left clean and finished on schedule. They all took photos of the completed work and explained what they had done. Because we cared so much about air flow we worked closely with Jesus. He was so helpful and made sure we were happy with the air flow in each room. We are beyond pleased that the air flow issue was fixed. We recommend this company highly. read more

We needed a mini split added to our sunroom and my she shed (which is quite literally a giant shed where I do all of my girly things). Kyle came out on a Thursday and gave us our options with both of the mini splits and we ended up signing and moving forward for a Monday install. Monday morning I receive a text that our installers Kobe and Zak would be approaching soon, which was great because I was able to know exactly when to expect them. I scheduled an inspection with Atticman, but the technician canceled the appointment the moment I mentioned a competitor's quote. Without seeing my home, he claimed their price would be higher and refused to come in to inspect. A company that won't even look at the property before making pricing assumptions shows a lack of professionalism and transparency. This company came to install a simple HVAC system in our home over 2 months ago. The unit itself was not well secured and rattled when it turned on, the team had to come back several times to properly secure it. When installing the vents, it was clear that many of the people who came through had never worked with lath and plaster walls before and created more structural issues at the house. They installed vents upside down, and did not patch nor attempt to find the correct molding for the pieces they quickly cut up. The team always left the home full of dust and debris without ever attempting to prep or cleanup after their "work." Isaiah was very professional, answered all of our questions patiently, showed us the trouble spots, reviewed potential options for repair and did not pressure us in anyway to make a decision right that moment. I needed to install ceiling insulation. I did not accept their bid because it was $1,500 more than the vendor I accepted. Not only was it higher, but it was the highest bid of the three written bids I received! After I told them that I had accepted another bid, they came back with the message hoping "a representative didn't review the wrong way --- happy to assist and offer discounts to make it right". First, how can a vendor review an insulation job the wrong way? Second, a card laid is a card played. If a vendor submits a bid to me, I expect them to put their best foot forward and not pad their bid. If they come to me and offer "discounts" after the fact it tells me they could have done better but wanted to see what they could get away with. My advise is that before you go with this company or any other company solicit at least three bids in writing. You'll be surprised at the results. read more

Whole house fan installed today by Adam Q and Kirt Lewis from Atticman. Adam & Kirt did an amazing job. The fan works extremely well and cools down the house nicely. They were extremely professional, did amazing work, cleaned up after the work was done and were friendly. The cost of the fan was well worth it. The house is cooler already. We continue to use Atticman because of the professional people they have. We have had them do: foam insulation in our garage, attic insulation, replacement of ducts underneath our house (which was a huge job), during our maintenance they discovered we did not have enough air intake for the heater to work properly so they add ed another air intake and last but not least we have a yearly heating & air conditioning maintenance contract with them.
