Technician didn't know what he was doing, Had no knowledge on pricing of product or basic knowledge of AC parts and how they work. I needed a fan replaced on the top of my AC unit because the Ball bearing was going bad. The tech told me that it may not be going bad but just gets hot when the AC Is on for 2,4,8 hours (his words) seems like a broad window of time for something to get hot and overheat. Second of all, heat does not cause the Ball bearing to squeal so loud that you can hear it inside the house. The tech them stated that he would hate for me to pay for a part when the unit is old and needs to be replaced. ( unit runs and cools the house fine) So now he is trying to get me to replace the whole unit instead of just replacing the part. Now the funny part is that i asked for a cost to replace the fan and of course he said i don't know and that he would send me a quote by 10am the next day. I wait till noon with no estimate and call him to find out why i do not have it yet. He then texted me back and says it will cost $725 to replace part and labor. I then call him again (because he clearly wasn't too busy to text me) and said he was too busy to send me a written estimate and hangs up on me! I have price shopped and I know a few things about HVAC along with my Father. My Father contacted his HVAC distributor and was quoted $ 100 for the part. Keep in mind this part takes 15 minutes max to install, so $725 - $100 = $625 in Labor for 15 minutes of work!!! What!!!! At this point I call the office, where i speak to a lady who said "not to be rude, but i know we have the lowest prices and we can not be beat" I asked what their hourly rate was for replacing parts and she said they don't do pricing like that. So I asked how much the part was and how much i was being charged in labor, and to my surprise she couldn't tell me either! I was quite frankly appalled by her lack of professionalism. I work in a customer service industry so i know what good/bad customer service is and this was most certainly bad! After a rough start, I ended up very pleased with Jaguar. My initial review, which was very negative, is below: "Called to schedule a next-day appointment and was given a window told to expect a call or text 30 minutes before the technician would arrive. By the end of the window I had received no communication from the technician. I called the office and they said they would send someone over, and to expect a call shortly. Hours later I hadn't received a call. I ultimately cancelled the service request." Following posting this review, the owner Mustafa contacted me about the issues I had experienced. Apparently there had been some turnover with his front office staff and the service request had not been forwarded to the technicians. He contacted a local technician in the area and offered me a discount to allow him to make things right. The technician who arrived, Jeremy, was polite, courteous, and friendly. He hopped on the roof and figured out the problem quickly and described what was going on. At this point I was offered a range of repair options, including replacing several components which were still functional. The more expensive offers felt a little sales-ey, and the upsell attempt made me somewhat uncomfortable. After discussing with Jeremy what our long term goals for our unit were, he explained that he could simply repair the broken part, which he completed quickly. I ultimately received a respectable discount for the repairs (15% with a free service call) in exchange for the inconvenience of having to make several calls to the office. Had a 5 year old AC that was not cooling. We have been in the house for 4 years. Had the company out who installed it, a big local company, lots of radio ads. The guy came out and told me I needed a new compressor, that the pressures were off. 1500 dollars for new compressor install. My gut told me to get a second opinion, and I'm glad I did. I called Jaguar, great service on the phone, technician came out next day. I was informed that the compressor pressures were low because there was a coolant leak from the coils. JESSE, the technician, was extremely professional. He gave me options, said he would recharge the system and put some dye in it to diagnose the leak. From there, we would need either a coil repair or replacement depending on where the leak showed itself. He came back to confirm that the leak indicated a new coil was needed. No warranty, big job. Again, he was honest, and said there is still one other option. The dye acts as a sealer, and there is a chance we could get some more life out of the coil. He will come back to check in a couple of weeks and either we'll let the dye do its thing and seal, or replace the coil (hope not). What I got out of it was Jaguar is very professional, and what I appreciated was that Jesse was very honest. If you want honesty, no BS, and great customer service, call Jaguar. Their reviews live up to the 5 stars. Also, to Jesse's manager: give Jesse a raise. Very professional, very knowledgeable from what I can tell, and includes the customer in the process, showing me exactly what's going on, and giving me options. The unfortunate part in today's world is not every service company can be trusted to be both competent and honest. I live 120 miles from a rental house in North Highlands and the tenant called to say their air conditioning was not working--temperatures were exceeding 100 F. I had no previous relationship with any heating and air company in the area and chose Jaguar initially for their 5 star rating in the hopes I would get a competent and honest company to fix my air conditioning problem. Below is my experiences: 1) I called Jaguar and they were able to get a technician named Ron out that same day. 2) Ron went out to the house did some diagnostic work and then called me to explain the problems. He sent me text photos and explain to me what my problems were and the timeline to resolve the issue. My specific problem was complex and required a second day to resolve it. 3) Jaguar sent someone to the house the next day before their official start hours and the unit was up and running by 9:30 am. In summary: Every experience I had was a 5 star with Jaguar. 1) Setting up the service appointment 2) Timely service deliver and problem fixing. 3) Great communication skills regarding diagnostics and fixing the problem 4) Honest, competent and highly communicative technicians--Ron really excels and goes the extra distance he showed after his official work day to provide timely resolution. 5) A bill for the services completed that I thought was great for the services they provided 6) Jaguar is a company that is honest, has highly trained staff and resolves problems in a timely manner at a very reasonable price. read more

Back in March as COVID was first arising, Sylvester came by to remove the old a/c platform and brought a carbon filter. I was unable at the time to decide whether I wanted that or a traditional one. He gave me the carbon at the price of the traditional and paid the difference out of his pocket so that i could try it out. A generous gift and one that, given the length of COVID, has likely proved beneficial. Since then, i've replaced the filter twice and stayed with the carbon. I also had them come out and service my unit that they installed december 2019. at the time, the tech found a leak. Sylvester came out to fix it and couldn't find it. He was responsive to my distress about their new system and it's fits and starts as well as my distress about the uncertainty of whether the unit needed to be repaired and my need for him to speak with the technician who found the leak to determine where it was as i could not be of much help. They give two maintenance inspections in the first year after installation and due to COVID, my spring maintenance was missed. They generously offered to extend that to this spring. While there were challenges, they listened and responded and for that i am grateful and would recommend them. It's easy when the job runs like clockwork to say someone did a great job. I just want to say thank you to jaguar heating and air..i own property in Sacramento and had the misfortune of a couple air conditioning units go down at the same time at a couple of my properties..i did some research and found amazing reviews on yelp for this company called jaguar..i never heard of them and was quite frankly a skeptic when I seen so many 5 star reviews..i decided to give them a call. Mark was the person who guided me through the whole diagnostic process and ultimately the sales of 2 new air conditioning systems. We communicated over the phone for weeks working out all the details and never once did I feel like I was bothering him..i am an engineer and have a habit of overwhelming people with questions. MARK HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!! THIS TIME HE SAVED US, PERSONALLY, 11,000.00!!!! It was 108 degrees, my husband and I were getting dressed to go to my 50 year class reunion and the AC started blowing HOT AIR!!!!! That quote, of 11,000.00 was from a well known Heating and AC company, in the area. My husband and I were sick, especially when we had been told, each time this company came to service our unit, that it still had life in it and should last for some years. We were sick at their new revelation. I called Mark out for another estimate and he said the AC will last, at the very least, 5 more years and the heater will keep going to another 20+ yrs. He went on to explain about the engineering of the AC: how well it was built: how much easier it would be to work on because of the great engineering of the unit. He went on to explain that the heater is a top of the line unit and that we wouldn't need to worry as it is an amazing work horse and will last for quite a while yet!!!! Mustafa with Jaguar Heating and Air has the best service in Sacramento. He is curteous and Prompt to respond, very honest and fair. I had a couple of Heating and Air contractors come out and quote me some outrageous prices for a Central Heating unit that was installed less than 5 years ago and was still under warranty. The contractor who installed it claimed that the warranty had expired, because the Manufacturer date was past the 5 year mark. Even though the actual install was less than 5 years. I called the manufacturer and they honored the warranty - my original contractor still quoted an outrageous price for items that were not necessary. Mustafa checked my unit and repaired it for half the cost, said one part was not necessary, still works. The other was a part he had in stock, gave me a reasonable price. He was patient with me and answered my questions with respect. The other two were very rude and gave me little regard, and did not explain the process or call the manufacturer to try and negotiate warranty. If I had not called around I would have paid alot more to the original contractor who installed the unit. Now I doubt he even installed it at the right price or correctly. So found Jaguar via Yelp. Called Saturday at 12:03am and left a voicemail. Followed up at 7:30am, and spoke to a guy who had been working late but he took down my information and said a tech would come out same day. (Came home Friday to my air conditioner pushing air out but it wasn't cool-- I have two doggies at home so being without air in the summer is not an option.) they called and I spoke to a gentleman (I'm going to butcher this but Mufasto?) who said the tech would be out shortly. Tech got here sometime around 12:00-12:40pm. Mark is amazing!! He didn't even have to go upstairs. He figured out my unit, gave me a diagnoses he thought it was before he even opened up the unit. Very friendly, this guy obviously knows what he's doing. He talked me through the whole thing (what he was doing, what parts did what). It's an older unit. We discovered a leak at the bottom of the A/C unit this past Wednesday just before 8pm. We decided to give Jaguar a call after reading all of the positive reviews and were given the first appointment on following day with a 3 hour time window. Mark was very professional, polite, knowledgeable and honest about doing the job right the first time without cutting corners on the repair. He took the time to explain the HVAC system and the cause of the blocked condensation line, which had pushed water back into the bottom of the evaporator coils and leaked down into an air intake duct. The solution was to flush the line from the outside up into the evaporator coils to remove the years of accumulated debris. He also covered his shoes when entering and exiting the house, requiring minimal cleanup. The price was extremely reasonable for his time on site and the distance traveled which included a discount for first time service. I was in the middle of decorating a birthday cake when I noticed the house was getting really hot and my frosting was starting to melt off the cake. I frantically ran to the computer trying to find someone to come out and fix my air conditioner. I tried calling businesses that said they were open 24 hours some didn't answer the phone others said they couldn't come out until Monday. Being that it was Friday there was no way we could go all weekend without AC. I called Jaguar Heating & Air and they came out the same day. Unfortunately they couldn't fix the entire problem because the company that installed our unit did a horrible job and he needed to have a sheet metal installer come out the next morning. They arrived Saturday morning and completed the job and best of all they are extremely honest they didn't try to sell me services I didn't need and reasonable. They came out two days checked my freon which he said we didn't need replaced a defective part and completed the sheet metal work for $245.00. I've had several supposedly "good reputable" heating and air companies come service my unit in the past few years and was never satisfied with the result. Our house was never cool during hot days. These professionals are the real deal. We had them replace our HVAC system and install a whole house fan earlier this year, and they were knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, honest, and did outstanding work at a fair price. I truly appreciated Jesse taking the time to address all my inquiries, guide me through the different options, discuss the pros and cons of each, and ultimately find the right system for our needs. About a year earlier, they had come to conduct a tune-up on our old system, which was nearly 20 years old, and they didn't pressure me to buy a new system. They thoroughly inspected it, performed some maintenance and minor repairs, and gave me an estimate on its remaining lifespan. In fact, I only replaced the system this year for extra safety. I needed to have a maintenance service done on my a/c, so checked on Yelp for recommendations. First one I saw was Jaguar. All positive feedback, so gave them a call. The woman answering the phone was very nice, set up the appointment, and told me Jesse would be doing the service. She gave me a three hour window and said he would call 30-40 minutes before he arrived. This was great as I didn't have to wait around. He called just before 9 to say he would be there in about 30 min. He was right on time. He did a thorough inspection of the unit, and did find that the coils needed cleaning. He tested everything, and came in to even test the air vents. He had a checklist on the invoice explaining all of testing that had been done, and how each rated. Said my unit was in good shape. My AC was causing my electricity to short out. I had 1 AC company come out and identify the problem. An inner voice told me to get a second opinion. I looked on Yelp and saw all the excellent reviews so before the 90 degree weather hit I decided to call Jaguar. I spoke to a very nice and professional receptionist who surprisingly scheduled a same day appointment. I rec'd a call later on that a technician was in my area and could he come over in abt 20 min-30 minutes. I happened to be home earlier than I expected and I said great. She advised me that Jeff would be my technician. Jeff arrived, asked me what was going on, I told him. It took a little time to find the real issue, but he found it and saved me a few hundred dollars. This is what excellent service is all about.
