Clarks Creek Greenway on my morning walk
    Tracy B.

LOVE this place! It's a beautiful tucked with gem. The sound of the creek while walking is quite soothing. I even caught video on my phone of a Crane flying over head. The people are friendly, trail is clean and with Mature trees lining the path for good shade on hot days. Enjoy and BREATHE

Wonderful spot to walk, bike, bring a dog, and run. Nicely paved trails and signs are there to let you know where you are or where to go. Beautifully sweet creek sounds along your entire route.

This is a great trail, there are a long web of trails that go about 25 miles and the trails are pretty well shaded, if you are one that likes to be protected from the sun like me, also there are some areas that are great for trail running and mountain biking as we'll these are hidden so look carefully you'll find them! Enjoy the trail!

This is a great place to walk, geocache, jog, etc. Best to come when school is not in session for parking though

My dog and I love the greenway! I feel safe since it's by all of these houses. Also, it's shaded which is nice on these hot summer days.

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine is adjacent and service there was super friendly and fast. There is indoor seating there, but the gardens have little twists and turns and different areas to sit, too. When we visited it wasn't too busy, so we had our choice of tables. There was a birthday or bachelorette type of party in another part of the garden.

The Greenway cuts through. Behind the park is a beautiful waterfall. The photographer was able to use 6 different backgrounds, including the waterfall. Other couples were taking pictures there as well but when we first came it was just two. When we left it was about 7. Plenty of space though that everyone was still able to get great shots. It's on a very busy corner but faces Kings Dr. Free parking in the metropolitan garage, easy walk regardless of the construction that gets in the way. Across the street there's parking but also towing signs. Lots of people were taking a chance though. It's a very small park and it's mostly an open grassy area with minimal trees/shade. Luckily, there are some trees that provide shade around the perimeter of the park and there's small tables set up with chairs. This park was a little crowded for my normal preferences, but we were able to get a table closer to the greenway which was further away from most people who were along the Kings Drive section of the park. The best time to visit this park is for the Kings Drive Art Walk in the spring.

There's a great gated parking lot that allows families and visitors to park and get to the playground, there's also the pool (closed in the winter time) but I basically came here in search of an outdoor stair workout. Not only does the greenway come through the park, but there's a big elevation difference that allows for some gorgeous city views! The park also has some nice business neighbors like the Hobbyist and a Pho place, really nice way to start a Saturday is to workout, and then grab a coffee from the Hobbyist. I'm curious how booked up the event space is for the park since the back of the building is all glass and looks out to the gorgeous city skyline.
