I always try to shop local instead of big box but in this case big box out shined. Went to Americas Best. cleaned up Pickerington eyecare glasses for free. Waiting area: Clean. Organized. Cozy. Properly spaced for social distancing. Waited for about 3 minutes after check-in to be seen (mind you, I was also about 5 minutes late to my appointment - never underestimate Pickerington traffic!) Pre-exam imaging: normal exam (including the air in eye part). During this exam, I could overhear their team being extremely patient with a kiddo who was scared of the machines. I was impressed to hear the methods they used to calm the kiddo, build trust, and help the kiddos through their exam. I would say this place is kid friendly and they give lollipops post exam! With doctor: Dr. Pipo had a booming personality. He was energetic, kind, and really reviewed my case prior to examining me further. You know when docs ask "which is better? One or two?" And you can't tell the difference? He actually explained what the differences were while determining which corrections were needed for my eyes. Post exam: Laura (specialist) helped me with selecting my glasses. I told her the style I typically like and she brought ~10 pairs to try (which all met my preference along with a few fun frames). She helped me narrow the frames down and was extremely patient with me. 30-mins later, I picked the frames that we both agreed- totally matched me and my personality. After selecting the frames she helped me to assess the appropriate additions to make for my lenses and explain insurance coverage. Jessica (front desk) helped me with selecting the appropriate contacts covered by insurance. Overall- Fantastic staff. Fantastic facility. I look forward to meeting my new frames and going back again for my annual in 2022.

I ordered the progressive lenses with the normal field of view. I had had the more expensive wide field lenses before and thought these would be fine but they did not work for me. They allowed me to upgrade to the wide field of view lenses for the difference in lens price which I thought was more than reasonable. The better lenses are not part of the 1 hour program but they were ready in 3or 4 days. Much better. Really exceptional service. The price was good and the service very good. I'll be returning.

Turns out Lori "can't believe" that at 25 years old he doesn't know how to submit his insurance. She then goes on to laugh to her coworker claiming "he must be on Medicaid" and "what is he just dumb". I'm truly shocked that this lady talks this way about patients behind their back. Well Lori, if you must know he hasn't had insurance since 18 years old and finally got a job that offers insurance to update his vision prescription. So sorry if he sent the wrong card to you. His glasses are literally broken and 7 years old.. it's already nerve wracking trying to book an appointment when you haven't had care for that long and now YOU just made it worse. So for anyone who reads this don't book an appointment here if you have Medicaid, the staff will laugh behind your back and don't even think about making a mistake if you're 25 years or older, Lori will snicker with her coworkers about how "dumb" you must be. There is ample parking there, the check-in process was quick and efficient and the front desk team was very friendly. I had little to no wait to be seen. I was initially evaluated by a student who was thorough in her exam and questions. I was later seen by Dr. Morgan Marshall Murphy. Both of them were very professional and helpful as well as thoughtful in their questions and comments. I was prescribed medicine and sent home with detailed instructions. Overall the experience was a very good one. I will need my annual eye exam next year for contacts etc and i will return to Hermann & Henry.
