From Bill Gerken the most patient sales professional, to Chris, Charlie and Juan the install guys, my home was handled with care and the end results were awesome! I used them twice before and it was ok, the price was high but they did a good job. I needed a door wall installed so I called them. The salesmen Jeff talked down to me. I am a woman business owner and I knew exactly what I wanted. He was very condescending but it was the holiday period so I sucked it up and waited for the quote. After calling every couple of days, Jeff said he was working on the quote or he was too busy to talk. I called the manager and he seemed nice but didn't follow through. I never got a quote. Trust me you deserve respect. Go someplace else. read more

On Monday, December 19, 2016. I wish I'd gotten the installers name. Clarkston Windows and Doors have a winner in him. He was very professional. The courteous, gentleman worked tenaciously and had the PATIO door installed within 3 1/2 hours. He was so meticulous when installing the door and trim. I walked into the Clarkston Window & Door showroom about a year ago, without an appointment, based on the recommendation from a friend. The owner Jeff was there and immediately began to help me. He spent over two hours with me teaching me about windows, the differences in quality and features and helping me select what was right for our home. He made sure to check our building plans and confirm we had tempered glass where it was required by code. He also quoted several door options and helped steer me away from a door I loved that was very over budget. I really appreciated that and my husband did too! During follow-up calls/emails I made a number of changes and he was very patient and thorough. Since we were building a new home, the timing of delivery/install kept changing and he made sure I knew about holiday closures so we wouldn't be waiting for the windows. The delivery and install went as expected, Dave was very easy to work with, and we were extremely pleased with our Northstar black windows and doors. Jeff continued to hold onto the screens until construction was complete and sent the crew back once we requested. Overall it was a great experience, very pleased with the quality, service, and price. The icing on the cake and why I would really recommend them... A year later, we're in our home, it's settling, and we had an issue with our double sliding door. It would barely open and one of the screens was stuck. Despite the backlog, Jeff sent his crew out very quickly to inspect. Fortunately, they were able to make some adjustments and make it work despite the framing issue with a header that's sunken. I cannot keep quiet anymore as I put towels and snakes around my windows and door wall to prevent the cold. We gave them a lot of money for door walls and windows and experienced.Nothing but problem, even to the point that they had to rebuild a few. Still not properly working. We have to shove material in all the bottoms of windows..door walls to prevent the cold draft and wind. In the summer the dirt in the tracks has to be cleaned very frequently and if there is a high wind they whistle. I have tried not to be a cyber bully but I just can't hold my tongue any longer. It is so bad that we are considering new windows...the $$$ we spent could have bought us a new car. What a shame..!,, read more

Worst ever customer service. First call inquiring about Therma Tru door Quote, told me to request online so I did, no follow up for over a week. So I went to the store, was shown samples and given a quote with a couple options and color samples to take home. Went home made my decision called them back could not find my quote asked to talk to the salesman I worked with not working that day left my number to call me back. Days go by no call, So I called the salesman and told him I am ready to order and have them install it, so he said I'll have the installer call you to schedule an appointment to measure, never heard back from them...If I'm going to spend several thousand dollars for a door, I expect more. And as a small business owner myself the customer service here is the worst, I'm suprised you have so many people pretending to work in your store!! read more

We had all of our windows (with the exception of 3 windows that were previously replaced by Pella and Wallside) replaced by Clarkston Window and Door. The patience Tim and Jeff both had in answering my MANY MANY questions, was surprising. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, respectful, kind, and NEVER pushy. I took a really long time committing to and deciding on the windows, and they made the entire process go very smoothly. We had the windows replaced in October 2013, and we were glad we had new windows! I agree with Tina P.'s review regarding the grid lines and prices compared to Lowes; my experience was very similar to hers. I also went to the showroom to see the different windows and again ask a million questions. Also, Steve and his crew were the BEST. These Northstar windows are almost 100% customizable. My windows were installed by a carpenter (not Clarkston Window), and there were a few issues with the installation; when I called Clarkston Window to ask a couple questions, they offered to send someone out and take a look. I just had Clarkston Window and Door replace all of the windows in my home and change the glass in my front door. Let me tell you , I have rarely had customer service as good as this. Jeff Weaver guided us through the entire process of choosing not only the right window for us but also had wonderful advice on design issues. the windows were ordered and ready when Jeff said they would be. And now it is like living in a new home - noise level is down and there are no drafts like there used to be when I walked by a window. The installation crew we had was first rate. They were here for 4 days and every day would vacuum and clean up after themselves. After coming home from work, aside from the new windows, I could not even tell they had been there. The attention to detail they showed on the finishing work was very impressive. Next up, I have to have some of my doors replaced and I will definitely use Clarkston again. read more

We are updating our home, looking for more of a mid century modern look. We are also doing a lot of the work ourselves. Jeff at Clarkston Window and Doors really spent time with us not just to find the right windows/color etc... he also helped guide us so we could do much of the prep work which reduced our over all cost. When it came time to put the windows in the installation team led by Steve was professional friendly and efficient. They did a fantastic job installing our windows. Lastly, we did we did our homework on window manufacturers looking at window efficiency, frame size, overall size limitations etc.. and the Northstar product sold by Clarkston Window and Doors is the best window we could find at a reasonable price level. read more

I really liked Jeff's enthusiasm for his product and his services. The Northstar Windows are a solid value and I would recommend them without reservation. What sold me the most was Jeff's talk about his installer - Steve, who has 30 years of experience. Unfortunately, on the day of the install, it wasn't Steve that showed up. Of our 5 windows, 1 of them was rather complicated and the installation was done very poorly, resulting in a several needless holes being drilled in our new hardwood floor. The short story is that it took over 3.5 months to get everything sorted out. Along the way, Jeff ceased to be communicative and helpful. Jeff claimed that it was just a busy time and he sometimes calls in another installer. My thought was that you should keep your rookies on the sidelines for more complicated jobs - especially given the thousands of dollars I spent on the job. read more

Jeff (owner) at Clarkston windows is fabulous. Tim wrote up the bid and was friendly & respectful (not pushy like the salesmen at some other window companies). However, before purchasing an entire houseful of new windows, I wanted to go to their showroom and see their products in person. Jeff spent easily an hour showing me the features of the Northstar windows they recommended. Their price was exceptionally competitive, too, but the quality was better than the windows available from Lowes for the same price. Also, the Northstar windows allowed any configuration of the grid lines (grilles), whereas the windows from Lowes had limited configurations. I found this company through Home Advisor. My sales person, Tim, is great. He was patient with my questions, and with me wanting to see options. He gave me some of his input to help me with my final decision. The turn around time from the initial deposit to installation was great. CWD seemed to be fair on the estimate, compared to the other two companies who quoted me. Only my sales person was not pushy at all. The installers seem to really care about doing a fine job!
