Took over a month to get bow strings put on my bow. It was supposed to be a couple weeks. I was led on for weeks with them saying it would be there at whatever time and it wasn't. He never called with updates when things didn't get finished on time, didn't follow through with what he said he would do, and was rude in general. The situation was still salvageable, but Dillon was extremely rude and condescending when we had a friend pick it up. Asking questions like... have you ever now hunted before, etc. He tried to double charge us even though we already paid. He also mentioned he had to pull strings to get strings for the bow... I'm sorry, I thought was pretty much what you were paid to do?! Don't waste your money here-- customer service was garbage. read more

This is the best gun store in Lexington. They're a bit smaller than some of the others for sure, and they don't have an attached range, but they have a great stock of used and new guns for all purposes. They do have a bit of a bent towards shotgun sports and are the best store in town for skeet and trap shooters. They provide case discounts for shotgun shells and are very good at getting you kitted out. CAA is an active supporter of the UK Trap and Skeet team as well. They actively check out auctions and estate sales so they always have interesting guns for sale; oddball pieces, military antiques and the like. The staff have always been very friendly and knowledgeable CAA is a full service archery shop as well for archers, stick bows or compound bows. They offer student discounts for training equipment to help support archery programs in Central Kentucky. read more

Inventory is higher priced than the big box and a big FAIL on customer service. Save your money and time by taking your business elsewhere. My buddy bought a rifle and scope combo here and recommend them for my gunsmith needs. Said they aren't like a big box retailer. Took my pistol and night sights in and they said they could get them installed for me "no problem". Left my gun and sights and waited. A month later I called and got some story about their gunsmith quitting and yeah they had my gun and someone would call me. Got a call later telling me they couldn't do the work and come get my gun. So, two trips, no sights and and move on if your not buying. read more

It's not often that I stop in at classic arms but any time I'm in Lexington I make a meaning to go. My last trip there was fantastic ! I bought a blue labeled glock 45 and the owner even gave me a free Glock bag with purchase. However my trip there today left a bad taste in my mouth. There was maybe 4 customers total in the store including my wife and I. I walk in to the store and I receive no greeting (which isn't needed but it starts off the experience that much better) and we look around for about ten minutes. Not once was I asked if I needed help. I then found a Glock 48 mos that I've been eyeing for a while and wanted to feel it in my hands. I sit there at the blue label counter for ten minutes with multiple employees walking past me and not one stopped and ask if I needed help. While I'm standing there a older gentleman walked into the store and not 10 seconds after he had a employee following him around trying to help him. I'm 23 years old and I have tattoos. I understand I may not look like I'm wanting to spend money but I can assure you as a veteran and a avid second amendment supporter that if they have something that catches my eye I'm going to pick it up. This is a good locally-owned gun shop. I usually make a point to stop here along with other shopping in the area, and gun store visits. They are located around other small businesses and novelty shops. They are slightly smaller, with less inventory than some other gun shops, but they do what they do well. They have both shooting and archery supplies. The staff are friendly and helpful, though, perhaps. slightly more sales focused than some other local shops. I frequent gun shops both to enjoy browsing and comparing, as well as with the intent to purchase. Overall, this is a neat, local gun store, with shooting and archery inventory. I enjoy visiting this gun store, and like shopping at this small business. I have had only positive experiences visiting this gun shop. read more

I've come in here twice looking to purchase a revolver, knew what I wanted to look at, and the guy was very rude and weird. He barely made eye contact much less spoke to me. Maybe he has psychological problems because that's no way to treat a potential customer. I was professionally dressed, but he just mumbled and after I asked if he had a particular revolver in stock, he made no effort to show me something else. Didn't seem interested in my business at all. I won't be back. No way to treat customers. read more

I've purchased two high-end rifles (HK & Sig) and two high-end pistols (both Sig) here, $7K-$8K altogether. I stopped in today to pick up a couple boxes of shotgun shells. The shelves were all full but not the load I was looking for, although there were several cases of what I wanted sitting in the floor. When I told the sales guy I only needed two boxes, he went back and asked the boss if he could break a case, the boss told him I'd have to pay $2 extra per box if he broke a case. Unbelievable! That extra $4 just cost him a lot of money. I won't be back. I don't get why people are so stupid as to insult a loyal customer. read more

This is my new favorite gun shop in Lexington, and it might be my favorite gun shop ever. They definitely have the best prices, by far, on Benchmade knives (they price match any confirmed price if not) and are fairly priced on most firearms. They also have a huge selection of shooting accessories and other items that someone looking for "classic arms and archery" might also be interested in purchasing. They are a smaller shop, but being so, have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. This shop seems to cater toward individuals who aren't looking to pinch pennies, but offer in return very high quality items and knowledgeable, helpful customer service. I've only been in the shop a few times, but have had a great experience and bought several items that I would not have ordinarily bought based on the recommendations of the employees. Each time I've left I have been EXTRAORDINARILY pleased with the performance of the products and the recommendations of the employees. I purchased a used gun from Classic Arms and Archery when the gun did not fire I called them explaining what happened. They immediately post blame on me saying I did not know how to field strip the gun. I sent this gun to the manufacture to see what the problem is and to get it fixed. The guy at auto ordnance called me today and told me that it was not my fault, someone had put in a new trigger with the wrong firing pin and wrong parts which could ve been potentially dangerous. If you knew what you were looking at you could see that it was not right (this was the exact words from the repair man) I have requested a statement from them so I could post this. I just want to get the word out be aware of these people when dealing with used guns. If people would like to know details what exactly happened send me an email and I would be glad to speak to anyone. Also I have spoke to the gun shops I usually buy my guns from they will honor issues like this and will work with you. Don t make the mistake I did.
