Tried to buy lead shot online to make ammo. Item linked below. They want to charge a $19.99 "Ammo handling" fee. I emailed support stating it must be an error because the remington lead shot doesn't incur the fee and it's literally a bag of lead. Nothing explosive or dangerous unless consumed, shoved up your nose and or butt, or shot with... Nope. Weird hill to die on but representative insists that lead is dangerous and is correctly incurring their fee. I also pointed out how about 80% of their bullets for loading do not incur the fee but quite a few bullets do. I'm new to loading ammo and checked with multiple reloading groups. This is not right or normal. Someone just doesn't want to do their job or they're really money grabbing scum. Either way avoid them. Recently taken a brand new 308 savage rifle in to get a new Vortex scope mounted on it. When I dropped off I left the rifle in a carrying bag, and the scope was still inside the box as it is never been used. When I return to pick up my rifle I looked and I was satisfied at the time when I left. Later only to realize that the lens covers for the brand-new scope, had been left there at the store. When I called to tell them that I was coming to pick them up they told me they could not find them. I will not be returning to give them any more of my business if they can't do a simple task like that. This is a nice outdoor sporting good store in the Hamburg area. I have bought shoes in this store because they carry the hi tech and Merrill brands. They have a lot of Columbia outdoor coats and Carhart items. I think the quality of the merchandise is high and the prices seem good for the items. I am not a outdoor person being I never fish and never hunt so I cannot address the stock in these areas. I do like this store and my family has stopped in here when in this area of town. Update about another gun purchase. I purchased online and did the store pick up. I picked up order on May 30 , 2022 at 2:32pm. Everything went as planned, until I got home and discovered that they charged my card again. I called customer service the next day and they wanted to email a photo of the receipt which I promptly sent. As of this moment they have not handled this matter. Unfortunately, my experience with Sportsman's Warehouse was full of poor customer service. When I arrived to return an online order, the front desk associates explained that an on duty manager had to complete the transaction. When she finally arrived up front, it seemed I had inconvenienced her by her demeanor and lack of friendliness. She initiated the conversation by stating she'd probably wouldn't be able to return my online order. She never even greeted me. Upon closer inspection, I had brought the wrong receipt with me, and she seemed overjoyed to be able to clock out early. She also seemed to enjoy pointing out my mistake several times. By the time I had found the correct receipt in my email, she was actively clocking out, but had no intention of assisting me. So I had to wait for a different manager to come complete the return. I suppose this different manager was too busy to even come down stairs, and forced the front desk associates to call him so he could complete the return from his office over the phone. After this experience, I will be taking my business to more reputable, better stocked and friendlier staffed stores like Cabelas and BPS. read more

This is a great place to find what ever you need for your favorite outdoor activity. I went several times to this store and people ate the counter are very knowledgeable and professional. They know their stuff. I approached to them many times with questions and they are always willing to help you. I read reviews here criticizing the people that work there. I never had a bad experience with them and I interacted with almost all employees working at the gun counter and I never had an issue. I learned that if you treat people with respect they will treat you the same way. Maybe that was the issue with the negative reviews? They treated people working there with an attitude and expect from them to still treat you like royalty?? May be that was the case I don't know for sure. read more

I knew the exact model I wanted to look at but he didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about. He couldn't even answer simple questions and then just kept silently staring at me. Often you need to look up info that has to do with something you need to buy because the person working the counter does not know enough about whatever it is (reloading in one instance). I purchased my first bow here. The gentleman's name was Wilson who helped me. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. Wilson taught me a little archery 101, explained things in detail, and cut the arrows for me. I spent a couple of hours in the store and when everything was adjusted to my personal needs, he showed me how to shoot my first arrows in the archery range!!!!!! This man is awesome and deserves a gold star for customer service!! By the time I left the store, I did not feel as ignorant about archery as I did when I walked in two hours earlier.
