I've used this company a number of times over the past few years. The first several times were fine, but the last two will be just that...the last two times I use Classic. The next to last time was picking me up at an auto shop and taking me a few miles home. The wait time was fine, but the condition of the cab wasn't great - ripped seats, etc. This last time was not a good experience - it was a cold, rainy day earlier this week and I called for a ride. The dispatcher asked my location - another auto shop on Stratford Road. I told the dispatcher the shop is hard to find and it's located between a car dealership and another business set back from the road. The dispatcher also asked my destination. What time was reasonable, driver called to ask where I was and I informed him which shop I was in and he said he was outside. He wasn't. We went back and forth on the phone while I walked outside in the rain trying to find him. He was in one of the other businesses several hundred yards away...in an unmarked SUV. When I got in I asked if the dispatcher had told where the shop was located (since I told the dispatcher)...nope. Then he asked my destination, I asked if the dispatcher had told where the shop was located (since I told the dispatcher)...nope. Then he asked me how to get there. I asked him if he would like me to drive. Cabbies should have maps, a gps, or reasonable knowledge of the community. Then, there was also no meter in the car, so who knows if I am being charged correctly. I asked if I could pay with a credit card. Yes, but no machine in the car, so the driver had to call in to get the charge approved. I was also told there was a $10 minimum charge (the fare was $5). What a mess. As I said, last time I use this company. For background, my grandfather was a cabbie in NYC so I have a good reference of what makes a good cabbie and good car. Classic isn't it. read more

Do NOT use this cab company. I booked a cab to pick up my wife and me from the airport. I asked what would happen if our flight was delayed and I needed to reschedule, and I was told that the company tracks the flight and would make the adjustments. My flight did in fact get delayed, but they did not track it. The driver called me asking where I was and I said my flight was delayed and he HUNG UP ON ME. I called the company later to get a refund, and the "manager" got on the phone and was immediately confrontational, saying that I was never told they track flights and that if I have a problem I can talk to his lawyer. Please find another cab company other than this one if you are looking for services in this area. read more

I wish you could give negative stars. WORST COMPANY EVER. When driver finally arrived...30 minutes late...because the dispatcher "forgot" the driver had a 5:30 appointment at 5:40...the car smelled like stale smoke. The driver went through a drive through first. Needed to go only 11 miles because our truck broke down and we were getting a trailer to bring it home. 11 miles = $50. Total rip off. On top of that...they don't take credit cards but don't tell you that until the drop you off. I called my fiancé to PayPal them the money and the "owner" gave a PayPal address. I sent the money and she claims she never got it. It was sent to the address she gave us. So not only did she get my $50 (claiming she didn't) my fiancé had to go to an atm to pay them $50 in cash. They refuse to refund my $50 through PayPal. read more

The absolute worse taxi service I have ever experienced. This evening I called Classic Cab for a pickup, the dispatcher, Maurice, who claimed to be a supervisor, said the cab driver that I requested was on her way. Twenty minutes later, I called Classic Cab and Maurice assured me that the cab was on her way. I guess she was coming from Greensboro to pick me up at Hanes Mall. Ten to 15 minutes later I called Maurice the supervisor back to ask if he had any cab available to pick me and he said he sure did. After another 10-15 minutes I called Maurice back to ask to speak with a real supervisor and unfortunately no one was available. If you're in need of a ride I highly advise NOT calling Classic Cab. read more

Classic got me home. Uber did not. Saturday night and my alternator dies. AAA now prohibits riding in the tow due to covid. Went through the process of downloading, installing Uber which took about 7 minutes. Spent another 20 minutes watching their software spin looking for available cars only to be told on 3 different tries that none were available. Decided to call Classic. They answered the phone. They showed up. They got me home. read more

Don't waste your time... Took them over an hour and 45 minutes to show up at a place on Robinhood Road. Tried calling several times and the operator kept saying "he's on the way". It was freezing cold and raining/snowing that day. Do yourself a favor and call any other cab company... read more

If there was a lower score they would get it! I work for a hotel and every time I have to deal with this company I cringe! Look, if you don't know when you can get me a driver, say it! Don't tell me 15 to 20 minutes and then show up a half hour to an hour later. Some of these people have planes to catch. And if you have to call them back for an ETA on the driver you get this rude little man on the other end that says "they're on the way" or "they should be there any minute". Then, just as quickly, hangs up on you. I always try to find a different company if possible but using them today was definitely the last time. They are not worth your time or money! read more

Okay....45 minutes seems to be the only thing "Classic" about this cab company. I've called them the last 3 times, believing everyone can have a slow day...first two times over 40 minutes and today topped it. I waited 50 minutes, called them 2x and heard "Oh they're on the way!" I finally said screw this and walked home with my groceries. My thoughts about this company? Well if you have nothing to do but sit and wait for a smoke filled cab to pick you up then you are in business! If on the other hand you have a life that doesn't include waiting for someone who may or may not show up, go for it! They are getting 1 Star since the option to leave NO STARS isn't there! read more

If it was possible to give negative stars, I would. Completely unprofessional from the rude owner to the dispatchers who tell you what you want to hear, to extremely late drivers. It makes me glad services like Lyft are becoming more popular, running companies like this out of business. read more

While I was not a direct costumer of this company, I did have an experience today worth sharing: as I was backing out of my driveway and saw one of this companies cabs approaching (about 100yards) me, as I was already blocking oncoming traffic I continued backing out. Instead of stopping (as any normal driver would have) this cab driver decided it was enough to just LAY on his horn for the full 100 yards and instead of then stopping he decided to squeeze his vehicle in between mine and the telephone pole next to the lane at about 60mph (in a 35 mph zone) As he went around me we made eye contact as he began throwing hand signals indicating that he thought this was all my fault and continued on at this speed through a red light. Risk your own life - okay. Risk another drivers life -incredibly not okay. God forbid of someone had been in the cab with him? Although I didn't get the cab # I did notice that he was an older white gentleman with glasses and the drivers side of the car was dented from front to back. What really bothers me is that I called the cab company to file a complaint and the person who answered the phone didn't seem concerned AT ALL. If I see this cabby in my neighborhood again I will not hesitate to call the police. IF YOUR JOB IS DRIVE : MAYBE ABIDE THE LAW WHILE DOING IT (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN A COMPANY VEHICLE) read more

This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a taxi service. I called and asked for a taxi in 30 minutes but explained the driver would have to come around the building. The dispatcher assured me they would call. After 45 minutes, I called AGAIN and the dispatcher said the taxi was on the way and they would call me to make sure they were where I could be picked up. As I got to the back door, I saw the cab driving around the corner......NEVER slowed down. I called AGAIN and THIS time the dispatcher didn't even answer the phone. Worst experience ever, called the cab at 4:45 and told them to come around 5pm and nobody came until about 6pm!!!

I wish I could give them no stars. All the positive comments on here is from the people that work there which most of them is the owner's family. A lot of the drivers are disrespectful, they are never on time even when you call hours in advance I've been late for work multiple times dealing with this company, they make their own rules to benefit themselves and they don't want to wait on you even thro there is a wait charge. A driver actually told me that customers that is paying more money is more important. I believe all customers should be important since they are still spending money. It's companies like this that need a reminder that its us customers that made the company. Don't waste your time calling them I promise you it would be disappointing every time. read more
