It was over 90 degrees and I was not about to let it spread, so the husband started calling to places around Olympia as we were nearing the city. The first quote was for a place in Chehalis that had no website and 0 reviews. $80. The second place had good reviews. They couldn't fit us in. We called Jesse and he said come on in. $40. Sold! It's a nice little shop just off the freeway (101 or 5, I can't remember). Jesse was helping another customer but got to us as quick as he could. Came out to check out the chip and immediately had his co-worker bring my car to the back to cool down. Jesse explained the process and what we could do to maintain the repair. He said it would take at least 25 minutes because the glass was hot and had to cool down. We were offered cold bottled water. We chilled out on the big sofa. It was a crappy situation to be there, but it turned out to just be a nice detour. The crack was fixed and you can hardly tell it's there. No sun shade for this window's future! BAD INSTALLATION. BAD GLASS. BAD QUALITY CONTROL!! We were…read moresent here by another company to replace the back hatch glass. We also needed the new glass to be tinted and had that done after the glass was replaced. Once tinted we were able to see marks along the outside surface of the glass. I called and spoke to the manager named Ben. He asked that I come back so he can check it out for himself. Once I was there and Ben saw it for himself, he said it is a common manufacturing defect and that all glass has defects. The OEM glass they took out did not have any defects. I asked Ben why the glass was installed with the defects because there should be some quality control standard during and after the installation process. Ben stated that it is partly a customers responsibility to find issues with their installation and materials. After a bit of back and fourth he agreed to reinstall another piece of glass. A week later I get a call from Ben. They have another piece of glass and he wants me to come down to take a look at it. Again, there were manufacturing defects and I told him I don't want that installed. And he said he would have another piece of glass shipped. Then Ben tells me the owner named Michael feels we as customers are partly responsible for quality control and therefore responsible to pay half the cost to get the new piece of glass tinted. I told him there's no way we are paying for any of it because this was all due to their lack of quality control. Ben even admitted that his installer made a mistake and installed a piece of universal weather stripping that wasn't supposed to be included in the install. Which by the way, was installed with no care nor precision. Again, after some back and fourth, they were willing to cover all costs. I was willing to continue to work with Ben because I wanted this to get done. After two more defective pieces of glass Ben leaves a phone message stating that in all his 30 years of working in the business he has never come across a "perfect" piece of glass. So what, are they installing defective glass into other customers cars??!! Maybe that's why they are so inexpensive!! At this point, I give up with Ben and call the company that originally sent us to Action Auto Glass. They asked that we give Ben and Action another chance. A month goes by from the original install date and I believe 5 pieces of defective glass. But Ben could not seem to find that elusive "perfect" piece of glass. In the end, the company drops Action Auto Glass as their preferred contracted technicians and we are sent to the dealership to have the work done.

This should've been my first red flag. They quoted me $2000 total for the damages from our Tesla. I went to another collision shop who actually do work on Tesla's and their damage estimate was 6500. This is more realistic as everybody knows Teslas can be expensive to repair. If you have a Tesla, I highly do not recommend going to this place. Also, the estimate took almost 3 days to acquire, whereas the other place I went to created an estimate for me and took pictures in under an hour.
