This is the best local repair shop I've found. Walking in, the office layout is modern and organized. The staff is very professional. They don't waste anyone's time and get straight to the point. This company works with the insurance company to get all the damage documentation required. The staff does all the research and work for you so you don't have to worry about a thing. This place stays busy so be sure to schedule your car repair appointment as soon as possible.

My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado High Country had a tire explode, damaging the bed of the truck. I was…read morerecommended this shop by my insurance company, and since I am relatively new to the area, I took their advice. I initially brought it in, and the work was completed on time. I was handed the keys and took it home without a walk-around or any discussion of the work performed, beyond them replacing the entire left side of my bed (this is my fault; I should have requested that they show me what they did). I soon discovered that the right-hand bumper step was not installed correctly, and then I discovered the left-hand bed step pad was also not installed correctly. I brought it back the first time, and they fixed the steps. Then, my nephew, who paints cars for a living, came for a visit and pointed out numerous problems with the paint job: fish eyes in the paint from diesel, dirt in the paint, and it was not polished or buffed correctly. I subsequently discovered the trailer electrical connector was not installed correctly and pulled out of my bumper while towing a trailer. I brought it back in on Tuesday or Wednesday, and they said it would most likely be finished by the Friday before Labor Day. The weekend came and went. I went by to get my truck on Tuesday, and it still had not been touched. I was told it would be done by Thursday and that Mike would call me; he never called. It was not done on Thursday. Then I was told that it would be done on Friday, but it was not. I was busy at work on Monday and no one called, so I called on Tuesday and was told Mike would call me back. I am still waiting for that call and my truck. I understand that priorities change and things happen, but the total lack of communication and the lack of quality workmanship are unacceptable. Once they are finished with their warranty work, I will never bring them any business again. I will also recommend to family and friends that they find another repair shop should they require one. At least they honor their warranty. I will update this review if and when I get my truck back.

I stumbled upon Dave's Custom Auto quite by accident. That could be a slogan line for the business…read more Three years ago I was new to the area and purchased a vehicle with a blemished bumper. In running errands I saw Dave's shop, lucky me and now lucky you. As his business name indicates, the job is custom to your desires. If you want high end perfection Dave can do it and his price will reflect it. If you just want it to look good for a couple of years he will do it and the price will be lower. Dave does the spectrum of body work from high end perfection to "keep the price low and just make it look good." Dave works by appointment. Call him and leave a message and he will call you back. He can use this business model because his ability and quality has earned him the luxury to work around his moderate family life. I respect that, and if you buy in to this kind of quality talent you will also. I have spent 25 career years sending millions of dollars on my client's behalf through many body shops in the southeast states. In this effort I have seen many successes and many busts. I have sought Dave's services on two other occasions and Dave has done what he said he would do and then some. There has been no price surprises using the "well once we got into it......." He is honest, he is quality and he is what the name says, DAVE'S CUSTOM AUTO. Going forward, I will not use or recommend any other auto body technician other than Dave unless he is not comfortable with the project or he cannot get to the job in a timely manner because of commitments to others. And he is man enough to admit both.

While inspecting my car upon return/completion of repair, I noticed my seatbelt was damaged. The employee took pictures and said he would discuss with his manager. I had to call multiple times only to be denied and told that they didn't cause the damages. The employee also stated my dogs caused the damage. Upon initial review, I could see how they thought that was a good defense. However, if you continue to pull out the seatbelt where you feed it into the side compartment it's shredded. Anyone without a background in cars can see that some type of drill or machinery created this kind of shredding. Second, none of the other seatbelts in my car have any damage. Mysteriously, my dogs chew the seatbelt on the same side of the car that needed repairs (SARCASM). I usually don't waste my energy on this kind of ridiculousness. I try to stay far away from disgruntled customer land. But, I have some free time so I'm going to make sure this company understands that taking accountability for mistakes is customer service 101! How difficult is it to replace one seat belt? USAA needs to take this company off of its referral list.
