They prompty picked up the credenza refinished the top and the top side of the credenza. THEY DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB. This meant so much to me. The quality of their work is beyond compare. Washington Blvd. Pasadena California 91104, by the way he is using fake name as Jack, his real name is Hagop, it's not clear if they are carpentries or furniture refinishing company, recently I hired them to paint my kitchen cabinets and replace my wardrobes sliding doors, oh my goodness i spent well over $ 13,000.00 I wish if I didn't, in less than 1 year I had to call them many times for repair I even lost the track how many times, recently my wardrobe sliding doors got jammed again, and he is no where to be found, he is compulsive liar, do yourself a favor not getting into these kind chaos, and it's not clear if they are licensed, because I requested their licenses they refused to provide them, and also I doubt about his 5 star reviews with my experience I find them bogus, any good and reputable company should not have 2 tiers of customer service. heads up never pay him cash or without his company's name on the check, he always asks blank checks without his company's name on the check, I found out that later on in my bank statement. with totally unknown person's name, what is he up to only God knows, read more

I took a straight back chair in to have a leg fixed. It was actually a dining room chair from a Tavern in Virginia early 1900s. After being a Tavern it was turned into a single family residence. My Mom grew up in the home so this chair, one of eight I have, has great sentimental value/meaning. Jack's son helped me. He was very nice and efficient. They had my chair ready in a two weeks. I've read reviews where customers think the cost is expensive here. I paid $90.00 for the repair. Not sure if that is too much but unless you know exactly where to look, you can not see the repair. I'll go back here if I need any other furniture work done. read more

I was given an old bankers chair and the wheels were coming off. Classic furniture gave me an estimate and I left the base for repair. The wheels were not right and I brought it back. They put heavier wheels on and they were loose also. They bought a third set of heavy duty wheels, and it works like a charm now. They did the repair for the original price despite the problems. I was referred bere to have our dining room chair seat cushions reupholstered. I'd already gotten the fabric. Jack was so knowledgeable and accommodating and offered a fair per seat price. His wife was lovely, too. He said it'd be 2 weeks and it was exactly that. Our chairs are sturdy hardwood but the cushion fabric was worn, stained, and the foam inside almost completely flat. They'd been uncomfortable for about a year. We thought we'd DIY it but after struggling for 10 mins to remove when one staple from the dust cover, we knew we needed a professional. We also needed a button on our tufted couch cushion retied which he did for free. It is so great to have such a talented craftsman nearby. read more

I was very pleased with the promptness of the first (evaluation) call. I approved the subsequent repair, which involved replacing four small hinges on an armoire. The technician did an excellent job. He was efficient and had to (slightly) enlarge the holes that the hinges fit into. My only hardship with this company was the amount of the charge. The initial evaluation was as $50. which was reasonable. However, the next visit, to install new hinges, was $225. I grudgingly accepted that but felt the charge was excessive. Again, I'm satisfied with the work, which was well done but only recommend this company if you're aware that they're very pricey. read more

After buying a footstool at a yard sale that I knew was a gem, I relied on prior yelp reviews to take the diamond in the rough to Classic Furniture. Upon entering I was greeted warmly and was asked if I wanted to select fabric on hand due to small amount needed. Heck ya! I was shown many options and selected a deep sapphire blue. A large old sideboard inherited and transported from New York to San Francisco and finally to Pasadena needed to be squared up, re-glued, touch-up refinish and stabilised for the next 100 years of use. Well, classic did all that. Plus I noted, when looking at the underside, that clever wood braces had been glued to square-up the piece. Such that all the previously binding drawers work as if new - not that I was around 100+ years ago to take note. And these wood braces were white, whereas the piece was dark wood. Hence they could be removed to restore authenticity. Now, folks, that is a nice touch, is it not? Support this craftmanship as gentrification removes them from our community. We recently bought two dressers for our daughters room but they weren't the colors that I wanted. So from having excellent experience from classic furniture we once again trusted our dresser in their hands. All i can say handd down. Never met such unique over the top business. One was refinishing a damaged Danish midcentury teak dining table (it had LOTS of scratches and water stains) for myself, as well as refinishing three Danish modern teak dining chairs for my mother. Jack handled both projects with the utmost care and concern, and both times the results far exceeded my expectations. (He revived the table to a like-new condition.) We engaged Classic Furniture to make new slip covers for a large sofa and one armchair. We showed them the old covers, explained that we needed a high wear fabric due to having dogs and asked them to recommend fabrics that would be suitable with high wear resistance. A fabric was chosen based on the recommendation of Jack Ayranian, the business owner, and a deposit paid prior to work commencing. The original covers were left with Classic Furniture to make templates for the new covers. The ordering process was not a smooth one - first the company made a cover that was an appalling fit and had to be remade. This second cover was a better fit, but the pleating on the sofa arms wasn't symmetrical and didn't match that on the armchair. After several frustrating weeks without covers I decided to overlook that issue and take delivery. Within the first few weeks and months of receiving the final, completed covers, the fabric on the seat pads started to pile and lift. This has continued over subsequent weeks and the fabric has worsened significantly. In under a year the sofas have deteriorated quite drastically. This hadn't happened with the original covers despite 7 years of regular, sustained use and various humans and pets using the furniture. The wear isn't just on the seat areas, it's on the sidewall of the cushions as well, so can't be attributed to pets. I brought this to the attention of Classic Furniture in March this year, and took them one of the seat pad cushions to inspect, which they photographed. I received no immediate reply. After getting no response I called and visited their premises over the following weeks, and eventually received a reply from the fabric manufacturer to Classic Furniture (!) stating that the fabric guarantee was invalidated by pet use. At no point has we been told this, nor had we any contract with the manufacturer. The fabric is substandard and Classic Furniture have 100% refused to help. Avoid at all costs. read more

I literally found Classic Furniture Refinishing on Yelp and was glad I did! I took a dated, damaged mahogany armoire to Jack. It looked like it belonged in the 1950s (and not in a good way). After debating with my husband over selling vs. refinishing, hubby prevailed and I took the piece to Jack. He refinished it to a semi- matte chocolate finish and now I love it!. We took 2 chairs to Classic Furniture Refinishing. One needed a new canvas sling made. They did an excellent job. But where they really excelled was in the repair/refinishing of an Eames chair we have. The rubber gaskets that hold the seat and back on the frame had hardened and the glue had dried. They found the necessary parts and replaced them. We also asked them to refinish the seat and back. And we asked that they leave the label on the bottom of the frame, which states that this is an Eames chair, etc. The chair now looks beautiful once again AND it's useable. I would not hesitate to use them again! read more
