We hired this upholstery company back in 2022 to create custom cushions for a very expensive built-in banquette that we had professionally constructed and painted. The owner and her staff came to install the cushions, and we paid in full at that time. Unfortunately, the installation method has caused ongoing damage and frustration. The cushions were attached by sticking Velcro directly onto the painted surface of the banquette and onto the backs of the cushions. There was no proper mounting system -- just adhesive Velcro. The Velcro was not applied straight, which caused visible rippling and uneven placement. Because of this, there is no way to remove the cushions for cleaning without ripping the Velcro off the painted surface. As a result, the paint has been repeatedly damaged when I've had to remove the cushions to wash them. Additionally, the fabric that was recommended and sold to us was not truly stain-resistant. Spot cleaning leaves visible marks, so the covers have to be fully removed and machine-washed to get stains out -- which makes the flawed Velcro installation even more problematic. For a custom project at this price point, we expected a more thoughtful installation solution and better guidance on fabric durability, especially for a frequently used family seating area. I would encourage anyone considering custom upholstery to ask detailed questions about installation methods and fabric performance before moving forward. read more

I had a wonderful and professionally satisfying experience with the Lanzettis, and my four kitchen chairs were upholstered in less than a week! They also repainted the wooden frames and added new padding. I was surprised they were done so fast, and they look fantastic and like brand new. When I brought the chairs in, they also recommended adding piping around the seat of each chair. What a nice additional detail. I also brought in a small footstool with an embroidered pattern top and it was separated from its wooden base. They fixed that as a courtesy for my business and added protective plastic around the tag on the underside. It looks so nice too and I have a new appreciation for the stool. I regret having chosen Lanzetti for a couple of reasons, the first being that the cost of reupholstering a relatively small item turned out to be 2.5x more than quoted on the phone. Of course I must own that as it was my decision to leave the item that was to cost $92 but was in reality $250+. My real gripe however is that I was told 10-12 days, promised no longer than 2 weeks. The item was given to them on Oct 28 and was not even started until the 2nd week of Dec and only then because I complained. Wonderful work! A couple of years ago, they rebuilt a nearly-100 year old sofa (horsehair arms, and it weighed a ton!), extending its life for ages to come. Not only that, but Mr. Lanzetti build a matching ottoman so we could stretch out. A lot of work, and a difficult move, but no complaints or drama. This spring, my big project was to recover (with Sunbrella fabric) three pieces of old but good rattan furniture in the garden room, a screened-in covered porch. They ordered the fabric I found, and when he came over to look at the pieces (he always does that because he's a perfectionist and a pro) he pointed out the unusual "pagoda features" at the sides of each one. So he made the cushions to fit the upward tilts! So great looking. Really makes the whole room. He also said it would be worth it if we wanted to spruce up the finish on the rattan, as is was "a little weather-beaten" (after 70 years). This was not an up-sell, it was a craftsman's suggestion as a mere possibility. I am so glad he mentioned that they could do that! They did such a good job doing that, that we are also getting the other old rattan chair done-the rattan spruce-up, it doesn't need new cushions. I only use Lanzetti to reupholster furniture that matters to me and have know them for decades. They did an extraordinary job on the antique Louis XV settee I inherited from my grandmother, which involved tuck-and-roll and matching fabric patterns on very expensive Italian sick. They took pictures when peeling back the original layers so everything was restored perfectly. They also redid six fragile dining room chairs I inherited from her. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is worth every penny. They are also very accommodating and kind. When I had out-of-town guests coming, even though they had promised to finish the work on the chairs several weeks later, they were able to rush completing them and delivered them in advance of our guests' arrival. From our interaction we we're really disappointed at how this firm how to handle our work. A client have been waiting as well as us with them that he's commitment to do our custom theater upholstery. After waiting 3 to 4 weeks he gives us a pop back saying that he is too swamped and no longer is interested in our project. I wish that this is something that they could've confirmed with us early on because we would not have been offended at all, yet we have been waiting on them and the project rock on for a month just waiting on a quote. I made a Morris Chair, which has a seat, a seat back and an ottoman to be upholstered. The plans were from a woodworking magazine and they often get things wrong; this plan was pretty good but I think the way they suggested the upholstery was not right. I searched around and found Lanzetti. Ed came over and we spent about an hour discussing how to mesh the chair design with making the seat as well fitting current traditional standards on seat height and comfort. I had talked with another guy and he really missed a lot-he would have just made what the plans called for and that would not have worked. The work is very good; the chair is great and you can see the details on the ottoman, where the seat fits around the four corner posts, rather than just a square pushed down into the middle. read more

I needed cushions for my patio furniture re-upholstered. I was told a price and I confirmed it but was never told the fabric was extra, in fact I emailed a photo of the cushions and I wanted the same Sunbrella fabric and was told no problem. First I was told they can't get the fabric and then when I gave them the Sunbrella code and patern name I was told the fabric is $60 per yd. I can buy the same material from several places for $22-$27 per yd. Oh yes, I was told if I bring my own fabric in that the labor charge would be increased by 20%. Ridiculous. read more
