Cannot say enough good things about the people and workmanship at Portico Collection. They recently reupholstered and refurbished cushions for some outdoor furniture. Beginning with my first contact, they were friendly, helpful and timely in getting back to me with quotes, help in pricing fabric (including that it would be cheaper for me to buy direct!) and evaluating what needed to be done. Cushions are better than new. This is a great local business. I highly recommend them. One caveat: parking on York can be a challenge. The answer (from the owner), come before 9:00 a.m. I will shop nowhere else for furniture repair and reupholstery needs. read more

I went to the Portico Collection to reupholster a large armchair, wall panels for our master bedroom, and a Restoration Hardware couch (which came out better than the original manufacturer's upholstery). All the items came back impeccably reupholstered. I'm extremely happy with the service and their superb attention to detail! For whatever reason, this business didn't even show up in the top ten of furnture refinishers that I found in Yelp. Being a good Yelper, I went down this top ten list and what did I find? People evidently living out of their vans; self-entitled, pretentious morons that acted like maybe they'd help me if I was lucky; people with no working phone numbers; people that never returned phone calls (of course getting someone to actually pick up a phone call was a nonstarter), etc. etc. Then I remembered that a neighbor had recommended a nearby refinishing business on York Blvd. and I confirmed with her that the business was the Portico Collection. They run a large and very busy operation there and I'm really surprised they aren't better known on Yelp. We originally went to Portico simply because we were having problems properly supporting our mattress and box spring on an antique wooden bed frame my wife inherited from her Great Aunt. Instead of the ridiculous prattle we got from everyone else, we found people at Portico with whom we could easily communicate, who understood our problem. We were told to bring the frame down in its entirety, which we did. Portico worked out a strong and sturdy solution for this, using a series of perfectly-fitting supporting slats. We also took Portico's suggeston to bag on the "distressed" look for our 70 year old bed frame and let them refinish it, which they did PERFECTLY. It all took a while and it wasn't cheap but we are very, very happy with the outcome. It's obvious to me that they are true professionals and take a great deal of pride in their work. read more

After more than a decade my couch cushion was flat and needed a new foam insert. The Portico Collection not only gave me a very reasonable price (compared to other reupholstery companies I had gotten quotes from) they were also able to complete the job in a day! A DAY! Each person at the shop was helpful and friendly. I have 2 chairs that I am currently waiting for fabric for. I am excited to bring them to The Protico Collection because they gave me such a reasonable price (again, I had price compared and some quotes were 3 times more expensive!), they are local and they do an amazing job! With COVID times I'm using my outdoor furniture more than ever. The cushions had flattened - and Portico (aka Jesse's Upholstery) gave me a very reasonable price for foam inserts, and in one case recommended that I just turn cushion around and they would add little extra foam for no charge! I also found unique metal outdoor chairs at antique store, and Portico has lots of fabric books, and made me custom cushions with Sunbrella fabric. Saved lots of money vs buying new outdoor lounge chairs and just as comfortable. Very happy with service and all staff wear masks all the time! Felt very safe pouring over books of fabric as it is very large open space with front roll down doors up during the day. Great experience - thank you. read more

We took an old family chair in for a complete makeover and they did a fantastic job . The wood refinishing was superb and cushioning that was replaced makes the chair comfortable to sit in . Jesse's reupholstered an antique wingback rocker that has been in my family since the 1890's. Beautiful job. The people at Jesse's are a pleasure to work with. They gave me a quote from a photograph, made an appointment to pick up the chair and came right on time. On a visit to the shop to select the leather, I noticed how meticulous the workers were who were removing all the old tacks and staples from a chair that was being worked on. On my chair they repaired the wooden structure which had worked loose over the years. I am a heavy guy, and when the chair came back, I found that I sank down too far into it. Called them up - no problem - they re-stuffed the pad using a denser material while I waited - no charge, and now the chair is perfect. I highly recommend Jesse's. read more

We had the cushions, from our antique japanese chairs, reupholstered and/or remade. From the very beginning of our experience, the staff at Jesse's was professional and very pleasant. Tony was fantastic, took the time to answer all of our questions, gave some great information and input and was a pleasure to work with. We used Mohair for the cushions and Tony was 100% knowledgeable of mohair fabric and how to properly upholster with it. We were given a quote, which surprised us, as we thought it was going to be much more. We picked up the cushions the other day. AWESOME!!! The quality of work and the attention to detail are fantastic! We are very happy with the results we received and brought an Empire Chair to be refinished and reupholstered with leather.
