My main complaint about Acorn is although the children's aspect of their selection is adorable and super cute, their home decor palette is not at all my taste. The service was friendly and warm but I'd love to see them focus on children's items similar to Bella Vita and phase out some of slightly random decor that doesn't seem to make sense in the space. Overall, Acorn Shop is an adorable store that just needs more of an edit to really shine.

One thing I find frustrating about a lot of gift shops in 2026 is that they all seem to carry exactly the same trinkets, presumably mass-produced internationally and then stamped with local names. Having worked in and visited so many parks over the past few years, I can't help but notice how uniform and un-original the souvenirs are becoming. So, it is really refreshing to step into a gift shop that has an eclectic, unique, fun selection of reasonably-priced gifts that you would be unlikely to find anywhere else. While the merchandise at Harbor View Gifts was not necessarily bougie or locally made, it was definitely different from what you would find in Every State Park. The cashier who helped me was very friendly. As a bonus, this gift shop is located literally right on the edge of the bay. The parking lot could double as a great picnic spot. I ended up leaving with a Bodega Bay squid magnet and a small bag of taffy, which I assume was from the little taffy shop in the parking lot. The taffy alone would have been worth the stop, since it was as good as the taffy from my favorite taffy place, Candy Heaven in Sacramento.

Sharon, the owner, is originally from England and she is the sweetest person. It was our first time really exploring the area but we didn't do much research so she even gave us a map and highlighted the areas where we might see whales and another area where there are sea lions. Her store is definite stop if you are looking for souvenirs or to buy a special gift for someone who loves the beach. Sharon even wraps it up in a cute little cloth bag!

Jenn took her time with us and made sure that we were happy with the scents we chose for our candles. The class spends a bit of time talking about scents and how to layer them. Did I learn how to make candles on my own? No. It was more of an introduction to the world of candle making. Give it a try and dip your wick into it. FYI: You get a 15% store wide discount on the day of the workshop. Scents open up more fully in your candle after a few days. One Disappointment: We checked Google and Yelp for their hours and thought we could make it before they closed. We raced over for our candles after work.
