Visited Pueblo for an evening and stayed at The Rusted Poppy…read more When making the reservation they failed to mention a wedding was taking place that night AT the bed and breakfast (no access to the grounds when a wedding takes over)...or that the stairs to the carriage house where unfinished...or that the entire wedding party would be using the bathroom below us. Room was cute but there there were black curly hairs all over the bathroom (I'm bald and my girlfriend that joined me is blonde)...coffee maker had old coffee grounds in it and the fridge had old noodles in a Tupperware container. Furnace shook the floor/walls and was very loud. There was an uncomfortable daybed where a couch would have been preferred. Place sure looks cute - great character in the building and the gardens are eclectic and fun looking...poor execution makes this a place I will not revisit, which is unfortunate as it has potential.

The hosts Jeff and Cindy were fabulous! They worked tirelessly to make my visit the best possible. The house is gorgeous, as was my room. While i was there, they hosted a mixer for my reunion, as well as a concert and an open mike. All of the events were very well managed including everything from food and beverages, and somehow seating around 100 people. They even handled the interruption of a couple thunderstorms, preventing the parties from becoming a disaster. I will visit again everytime I visit Pueblo. The floor was disgusting and we needed table cloths for the tables, for they were sticky and definitely not sanitary. The kitchen might have been the worst of all rooms. The staff is here has always been awesome. Polite, professional, and always welcoming. The house keepers do a great job and the rooms are always clean and everything put away and ready for the guest. Beds are comfortable, the heat/AC works. The bathroom was clean, no hairs or other mystery items found in the shower. The sink was missing the drain stopper, but that was the only issue. The entryway had a broken water pipe in the ceiling, so there was an impromptu waterfall in the lobby. :) Overall, it's a decent hotel, even though it is very dated. Not like 1990s, but the interior is showing its age. The location is safe, there are restaurants and a confidence store all within walking distance. The staff is great. There is a limited bar/bistro in the lobby with lots of seating and a marketplace for water/candy/soda.

This building is open to the public and has all sorts of businesses currently open including a hair salon, insurance, bank, café/bakery, plus a venue threat can be rented out for special events! Outside the building you can see 4 trains on display with a variety of train related items and cars. I really enjoyed ringing the bell on the old steam engine! After touring the building we left on foot and walked around this historic part of town where most buildings are from the 1880's! Lots of little shops with antiques, ice cream, food, beer, etc!

The crowd is diverse so anyone can fit in and not feel left out. The place was spotted with several arcade games, lounges, a dancing hall and a private pool game room. In the back, they had a patio and a speaker outside blasting the same playlist as the music inside. There are several bartenders helping new people all around and lots of people are having a grand ol' time! Halloween was just around the corner, and I loved spotting the spooky holiday decor. The drinks were blended perfectly and I felt alive.
