This company almost cost me my house sale/ almost made me spent 30k on a unnecessary new septic system because their inspector was incompetent and put me in violation with the town for a problem that didn't exist. Thankfully I was able to contact a different septic service to prove that I wasn't in violation. I also called this company to complain and they never called me back. Mathew came out and we paid for a private inspection on our septic as we were selling . We paid nearly 500 to get an idea on the septics condition so we knew before any buyer issue. This company sent a report to our Realtor without our permission or authorization. We never wanted anyone to know we had our own inspection so we had hired them and they sent the information out. This inappropriate disclosure led to multiple issues and cost us the relationship with Realtor and sale. All we wanted was preemptive knowledge on our septic and this company made it a nightmare. Avoid Classic Septic Inspections at all costs. It sure seems that they were negligent in their Inspection of the property I bought (4 inch septic main COMPLETELY CLOGGED with new root growth within 5 months? Unlikely - and if that was the case it would indicated cracks or other problems with the pipes that should have been identified) and this led to a sewer line back up ON THE FIRST NIGHT we stayed in the House. Whether the correct inspection was done will be determined by the Insurance Companies or in Court, but it's the owner, Mike Acito, that is truly the issue. When alerted to the issue, Mike came to the property with an attitude to tell me that "my story didn't add up" (as if the sewage spill and the other professionals that were involved in the cleanup are all a made-up fantasy) and that he believed I was simple "simply making this up to get new carpet in my basement". That and to lecture me that trees grow. He conveniently ignored the fact that his own man opened the inspection cap to the inlet, probably for the first time in a long while, to discover it was completely root bound and the entire line filled. There are stand up people in this World, he is not one of them. I have been a property owner for 30+ years and I have never made an insurance claim or felt obligated to pursue a legal claim before. CSI will be my first. My insurance Adjuster from Pure High Value Property Insurance asked if they Guaranteed their work. Apparently, there are those that do, at least for a year, as a properly inspected system will certainly operate without issue for a year. Not only do the not, but there is a raft of disclaimers on their letterhead instead. Find anybody else and think twice about anyone who recommends them. read more

Do not use them if you're expecting a trustworthy inspection. I'm selling my house and the buyer used them for the septic inspection. CSI ended up probing the wrong area for the field and didn't follow proper protocol and failed my drain field. I spent $500 for a second opinion which proved that there was in fact nothing wrong with the drain field and in fact CSI probed outside of the field instead of in the field. They have more than likely cost us the sale of our home and nearly cost me $20,000 for a field replacement. Also, don't expect to call them out on their inadequacies because they'll just deny it and tell you you're wrong and don't know what you're talking about (know this from experience). Very difficult to deal with and they don't follow proper procedures (never called for a full mark out prior to inspection which could've resulted in an even bigger disaster). If I were you, I'd stay very far away from this company! read more

One of the most stressful things during our homebuying was figuring out what the heck we're supposed to do for a septic system. The Man and I both grew up with public sewer, so this was a completely foreign concept to both of us. The one thing we knew, though, was that we had to have the system inspected so make sure it worked properly before we closed on the house. We didn't know who to call or where to look, but our real estate agent had heard good things about Classic Septic Inspections, so she gave them a call. Our inspector arrived promptly for the appointment and were able to do an inspection on our septic system in less than an hour. He did determine there was a problem, which the sellers would have to fix. Because they only do inspections, he didn't try to push any other unnecessary services on us. After the initial inspection of our tank, he didn't even try to push us to pay for the more expensive add-ons to the inspection (we didn't think they were necessary). Their pricing was on par with the other septic companies we called for quotes, so we felt very confident that we weren't being jerked around on price. The inspector who came out even gave us some tips on proper maintenance of our septic system since we were totally clueless. He answered our questions and made sure we understood what we could and couldn't put down the drain and how to spot problems should they arise. We got our inspection report in a timely manner detailing all of the things the inspector had told us. The entire process was painless and hassle-free. read more

We had a GREAT experience working with Classic Septic Inspections. While my husband and I are very handy we have absolutely NO experience with septic systems but the new home we are purchasing has one so we had to get it inspected. The office staff was very nice and helpful and extremely accommodating as I had to reschedule 3 times because the seller was having work done to the system prior to inspection and her work kept getting delayed due to weather. The inspector professional, courteous and was extremely thorough and explained how the system worked to my husband and I and answered all of our questions. It turned out that we had a 1 in a 1,000 septic set up, meaning, while it functioned fine, it was not a system that was often seen so CSI went out of their way to coordinate with the contractor who set it up to confirm how it worked and even wrote us a letter to keep on file in the event we ever sell the home and have any buyers who are questioning the set up. They also offered to come back out after closing to walk us through the system again if we needed. I cannot say enough good things about them and HIGHLY recommend hiring them if you need your septic inspected. We heard about them from our cousin who was also satisfied with their work and are so glad we used them to inspect our system. We are now very comfortable with the septic set up at the home and are grateful to everyone at CSI for their help. read more

The admin assistant really did a great job contacting other clients and requesting reschedules in order to get us in under the wire. The inspection itself went smooth and more quickly than I thought. One of the best contractors that I've had the pleasure of working with! We purchased a foreclosure home with a septic tank (septic systems were totally new to us) and the realtor said that we should get a septic inspection with a camera. I was a little skeptical but agreed. CSI did the inspection and told us some follow up steps we would need to take to fully inspect the system, however the seller didn't allow us to do these things prior to the purchase. We purchased the home and the issue unfortunately turned out to be a big deal. It was very hard to find someone to help us figure out what was going on, so we reached out to Classic Septic Inspections again and they came out twice more to re-inspect our plumbing! They did this quickly and without further charge to us, as they considered it part of the initial inspection. The person who came out each time was professional, prompt, and thoroughly knowledgable (I was beginning to lose hope that such people existed anymore in the home repair business). The fact that I'm providing a glowing review in what turns out to be a repair-needed situation is a testament to just how satisfied I am with the experience of working with CSI.
