Initially, my contact with the representative Todd Lipking was great and the communication was quick and responsive. Upon signing a Letter of Engagement and giving a deposit, stories changed, communication became spotty at best, and multiple dates of promise for scope of work and contracts being provided were broken. The date promised in the Letter of Engagement was broken by the company by almost 2.5 weeks or 11 business days. Multiple attempts at communication were not returned and finally was reached out to after being 'forgotten about.' The reviews and pictures of the work on Google do look good, and hopefully this is a one off for the company, but I would highly advise caution in dealing with a company that practices business like this especially when projects are of the magnitude and cost they are for custom built-ins and the like.

What Makes a Five Star Company…read more We had E. F. Marburger tile our foyer last year and had high expectations based on the Company's reputation. We asked that the work be done prior to our annual Christmas Open House. It turned out to be a very problematic installation. Our front door was damaged, as was our lawn where the installers disposed of their wastewater, and most importantly the tile work itself was of poor quality. There was also damage to the hardwood floor in three rooms where those hardwood floors transitioned to the tile. I called Shirley Page at Marburger and discussed the issues with Shirley. She said that Marburger had used a crew that was new to the Company in order to meet our installation time request. At this point I would have given E. F. Marburger a single star at best. The Company's response to our issues was to tear out the original tile, re-level the base and have one of their best install teams do the new tile install. They did a great job. In addition, the Company paid for the repainting of our front door, re-seeding of the damaged lawn, and the repair of the damaged hardwood floor by the flooring company which originally installed the hardwood floor, even though Marburger provides the same service. Several months later, one of the foyer tiles cracked. The Company had it replaced in a timely fashion and one could not tell that the floor had been repaired. Their installer, Tom Legge is a true craftsman. Companies that strive to be at the top of their industry should not only be measured by how they meet initial customer expectations, but what they do when things don't go as planned. This is what really defines the pride and culture of an organization. This is why I now rate E. F. Marburger as a Five Star Company Dan F.

I thought I was going to the best of the best because Marburger has been around for such a long…read moretime. I was replacing carpet on an entire floor with three bedrooms, two stairwells and a great room on the ground floor. A five figure job. I made very clear that I have two small dogs. One result of that was to get a special backing so no fluid would seep into the wood floor underneath. A week after the carpet was installed, I started to get pulls, caused by my dogs' toenails. I informed Marburger who sent someone from the manufacturer who determined there was nothing inherently wrong with the carpet. But I have pulls all over the house. Marburger said there was nothing that could be done. But, shouldn't the salesperson have known to steer me away from a carpet that could catch dog nails so easily?

Once we picked a slab and it was time for measuring, Greg did a great job explaining everything and answering our questions. He also let us come to the warehouse to measure and pick exactly on the slab where each of our three pieces would be cut. Install was painless and the installers were very careful in the house. The same measurer, Greg, was there for install. Really liked the continuity. We used this company for a granite countertop for our basement wet bar project. We wanted to be able to see many slabs at a variety of price points to be able to pick the exact one we wanted. When we arrived at the store, the physical location was small and it seemed busy. We saw a half wall of granite options shown on small squares and didn't think this was what we were looking for ... so we turned around and started to walk out. Thank goodness, Jennifer nicely stopped us to mention they partner with many slab warehouses on the northwest side of Indianapolis. She sent us on our way with pamphlets from about 6 warehouses and told us to stop by them to look and she could price any option we saw. Exactly what we wanted! We were able to shop and see hundreds of slabs and use Classic Kitchen & Granite for fabrication and install. We almost missed out on great customer service simply because we were rushing that day and didn't think the store appeared to meet our needs on the surface. Don't let that happen to you!

Brewer did a tile job for our hall bathroom in 2022. We had the best crew. We did a brick…read morepattern on the floor and the tile lines were perfect. The grout matched perfectly and the sealant has lasted into 2025 with no issues. They also completed the project in a week. In 2024, we hired them back to fix all the issues we had with our master bathroom remodel that was done at the same time by another company. This other well-known Indianapolis company had to rip out our tile twice as they couldn't line it up, put the wrong tile in, and couldn't lay it straight. Brewer came back to reattach the corner seat that had fallen off, re-leveled the threshold as the glass door was hard to close, and redid the grout on the shower floor and all the sealant in the shower as the sealant had completely come off.
