If you're looking for a classic spot to add to your week night repertoire, look no further than Classic Thai Cuisine. As far as Thai food goes, it's the perfect mix of traditional and experimental. From classic (pun soooo intended) pad thai to crab fried rice to so many different types of curry you could have a different one each night of the week, they hit the nail on the head for every dish. Service was prompt and the ambience feels homey, in a way that makes you want to pull up a chair and spend the evening telling stories. Make sure to ask for some chili oil on the side and you can customize it perfectly to your liking. Easy to make vegan or vegetarian, which is always welcome in this political climate.

The food is good... enough. I get the impression that it's been sitting for a while and warmed up once ordered (I feel this is typical). Chicken Pad Thai: Small portion for $15. The fact that it's $15 is beyond absurd. There were small pieces of chicken inside, I counted four. The size of the overall meal was about two fist-sized portions, again for $15. My wife liked the inside, said it was clean. It's in a good neighborhood and they placed the food in a to-go bag, rather than empty boxes most places give to you to reduce trash costs, so I'll give them that. I would like to go back, but to be honest, we're giving up on finding good local food. If you go there, I'm sure you'll be satisfied and pleased... if you're ok with all the aforementioned.

It's was a cold, dark, rainy night and I was desperate for some spicy food. My meeting (via Zoom) ran late so I needed a place that was doing takeout until nine. Fortunately classic Thai cuisine fit the bill. I ordered via their website which was seamless and simple. I selected Pad Basil 'Kra-Pao & Tom Yum Goong Soup. Both absolutely perfect for a rainy night. They have plenty of safety precautions and since I was pre-paid I simply went in and picked up my food and left and took it home to enjoy a spectacular meal. They were very grateful for the business and the food was great! Let's keep these local businesses going. Support local!!

Take THAT, 2020! You won't keep good people down.

Great food and it wasn't too spicy. I'm not a person who likes to stun my tastebuds into submission so I was a little concerned with level 3 out of 5. Turned out to be just fine for my eggplant dish. As great as the food is, though, the karma of the place is even better. When I picked up my order the woman behind the counter was very cheerful and all the orders were in seasonal bags. Regardless if I/someone celebrates Christmas, you've gotta show love to the spirit of the season. To quote a fella much bigger than me, "I'll be back."

Tina, the owner, cheerfully notes she's been in business here 6 years as of February 2020

We keep coming back to Classic Thai every couple months. We always get Tom Ka Gai coconut soup with chicken, quite a delicious combination of mushrooms, chicken and onions in a mildly spicy broth. For the second dish, we go back and forth between Pad Mixed Vegetables and Green Curry, both with chicken. Classic Thai is in a strip mall with Plaid Pantry and a nail parlor, but once you step inside, you find the interior is attractive, with lots of plants, including bamboo, and nicely soft lighting. The booths are comfortably large, the atmosphere pleasant. They do a steady stream of take-out business. The dine-in service is quick and cheerful, the food tasty and wholesome, and the price is right.

Open for takeout and delivery during COVID and practicing safely.

Heard a lot about this place but was a little unsure about a TX BBQ-Thai food mashup. I was…read morepleasantly surprised by how good it was. It really worked and highly recommend. So we went in the middle of the afternoon but the line was still pretty long. They were nice enough to let us sit at tables they weren't waiting on while we waited. The restaurant has a jungle vibe, a real Southeast Asian feel. It's fun and lively. The waitstaff are pleasant, albeit not super friendly but maybe that's the vibe they're going for. We got the fried chicken, the wok fried yu choy, smoked pork krapao, white curry with brisket, and red curry with veggies. We also got a bunch of drinks. It's fun to have a place that puts just as much effort into their non alcoholic drinks as their alcoholic drinks. Strongly recommend you try something while you're here. Everything was great but if I had to pick my two favorites, it was the fried chicken and the white curry. I was worried the fried chicken would be too sweet but it's very well balanced. Not overly sweet or sour, very crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. For some reason I thought they would bones in them but they didn't. It was clearly the table favorite as it was gone pretty quick. The white curry was a great example of how this mashup of two cuisines work well together. The white curry is a mellow flavor and almost acts like a thin gravy to the well smoked brisket. I have high standards for brisket and whether this would hold up on its own is a question but it certainly worked well in this context. That's not to say the rest wasn't good. I think I liked the pork more than others but the stronger Thai flavors was not as big of a hit as the rest. That said, the fried egg was perfect and paired with the juicy pork belly that was so tender and rich. The red curry was delicious although the choice of veggies was not my favorite. The yu choy was good, if not a little ordinary. Some may not like the bitterness of the yu choy but I thought it added a little complexity to the flavors. All in all, we loved it here and will definitely come back if in Portland again.

I haven't been to Southern Thailand, but I have spent enough time in Malaysia and Singapore to…read morejudge roti canai/prata, and the roti and curry here is really excellent. You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.

5 star food with excellent service - very welcoming and knows how to upsell lol…read more Food Orderd: 1. Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.

Service was efficient on a weekday for lunch. I was very impressed that the woman serving us also cooks. She said she has one other person helping her over the weekend. The food was SO DELICIOUS. This was the best pad Thai we had with such depth of flavor - not too sweet or oily, just perfect. We also had the pad kra pao, eggplant and tom kha. The tom kha had good flavor and with a thinner broth that I'm used to which was fabulous. The eggplant was so delicious - the consistency was incredible. Not too soggy, just right. I also tried the mango sticky rice. For drinks we had the Thai lemon tea which tasted like Thai iced tea without the milk and lemon added - delightful!
