I'm normally used to reviewing restaurants and not to car dealerships but sometimes car dealerships are just as confusing the way they are being run as restaurants are. I have an Audi diesel that I take the Volkswagen to get the oil changed. And invariably somebody at the dealership is mystified that Audi and Volkswagen basically are the exact same car. Moreover I have to remind them that yes you have the oil filter yes you have the oil on hand as a Volkswagen Touareg TDI is the exact same thing as he Audi Q7 TDI. Once we get past to that level of befuddlement we can move on. Overall the dealership is nice and clean but is very small. There was quite a wait to get oil changed but I often wonder if there is an empty Bay why can't they just change the oil in that empty Bay? Why do they reserve just one Bay for oil changes? if you have a check that's currently not doing anyting why not throw him out an oil change? These are things that constantly make me curious. Overall we all change was exactly what it should be and I pay around $120 for an oil change. Yes that is a lot but I also at that time had my wheels rotated they had to refill my blue def and my diesel takes eight quarts of synthetic. It's also half the price I'm going to the Audi dealership. Well I'm not expecting that 15 minute oil change oil changes are the bread and butter of a garage and they should probably have a few more folks on the oil change racks. They do have a nice waiting room with some fresh fruit and water and the TV with a remote and I can watch all the live PD I want. read more

I went to Classic Volkswagen to get an oil change and interval service in my 2012 VW Touareg TDI. It was expensive but I thought I'd like to get it done right so it was worth the extra cost. An 80,000 mile service should cost about $200 on my car. I walked out of there spending $450. This was because They also said I need an ADblue service, my cars is a diesel. I asked what if my ADBlue is full? and he said they still charge $200 for the service anyway. I found that odd, but being new to diesel cars I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. VW doesn't have an ADblue gauge in the car. You just have to trust your dealer. That's the problem I have with Classic VW. The long and the short of it is. I don't believe they did anything to my ADblue. I'm a little concerned they didn't do anything else they said they were going to do, filters, checking exc. They just charged me for the "service" and did not fill my ADblue tank. I know this for sure because about 70miles into a road trip the day after my service. My ADblue tank light came on. This is a big deal because it only lets you drive 100 more miles before your car shuts off for "safety" reasons. I was on a 2,000mile road trip. So I had to find a gas station that carried ADblue and empty all of our luggage in the parking lot of a gas station to fill the ADblue tank. Something I paid $200 for the previous day. There's a list of other things that happened on my visit that would just nitpicking at this point. They DON'T do the services they're charging you premium dealer prices for. That's not cool. I'm not going back to Classic VW. read more

She was just excellent in every way and thoroughly explained everything to my wife and I, so we could understand it all. She's very kind, compassionate and understanding. Purchasing a new car is going to be an awful experience, right? I. was. dreading. it. But, when my Jeep started to have electrical problems, it was no longer safe (or fun) to drive around in the dark with flickering headlights. I mean, what would the neighbors think? - let alone the friendly police officer who might be curious as to what kind of funny business was going on in my car. I wasn't dedicated to a car brand, so that only added to my...lack of enthusiasm. Then one day, it dawned on me. I like simple, well-designed things. Why not Audi? Then I looked at my paycheck, and I said, "Why not Audi's wittle baby cousin VW?" That's how I ended up at Classic Volkswagen. The car salesmen I worked with Chris was calm and friendly. He answered each of my questions and left the decision totally up to me. I ended up purchasing a Jetta from him. Two weeks later, my boyfriend purchased (a very similar, too similar) Jetta from Chris, as well. Since the purchase, we've been back for oil changes and car washes. Each time, the staff is remarkably friendly and accommodating. I mean, remarkable. Once, I showed up thinking I needed an oil change and I was under mileage. Instead of just changing it, they told me to hold off until I actually need it (your first few oil changes are free at Classic). Also, I received windshield wipers as a Christmas gift - we're a practical family - and couldn't get them on to save my life. I popped into Classic VW and they installed them in two second, no complaints, with a smile for free. All of the staff at Classic Volkswagen were great!!! They are successful because they have a great TEAM. I came in to Classic Volkswagen with a chip on my shoulder. I was feelings snubbed by another dealership in the area and I wasn't sure that I even wanted a VW. Like other buyers I was sold on a particular vehicle brand. I know that VW is a great car. In fact compared to my favorite brand, VW is it's baby brother in comparison. So we headed on over to Classic Volkswagen. Erik Johnson introduced himself immediately. I could tell he was ready to help, even though I was ready to be a brat. Right away he asked all of the right questions and then showed us their line of vehicles. Erik was patient with me as I walked around the cars looking for reasons why it wasn't a good fit for me. But Erik knew these vehicles well and showed me all of the features that made this car a solid buy for me. "Here is my drivers licence, let's test drive this baby". I was pleased with the test-drive and all of the features like Bluetooth, navigation, i-phone hook up etc. The car drove very nicely. "Let's talk numbers" I don't have the greatest credit but I know what I want to pay a month for a car" SIDE NOTE: I've been spoiled. My last car had been paid off for almost 6 years. We walk back into the dealership and the Sales Manager Zach Alicea introduced himself and Erik started my application. I was there a few hours, but it didn't seem like such a long time. While we waited for the finance manager, Jayson Gerbec to work his magic, Erik turned out to be very easy to talk with and relate to. His sense of humor was refreshing. Four hours seemed like only a few thanks to him. When Jayson came back he worked the numbers so that I was paying less than what I expected to pay with room to buy the extended warranty. As we know in todays world with high car prices and high interest rates, it's not always a pleasant experience, especially when dealerships don't want to make a deal to sell their inventory. The process was literally done from home, we agreed on my trade value, I came and test drove, then the next day he had all the paperwork ready for me and I maybe spent 25 minutes at his desk, then I was on my way in my new vehicle! From my experience at the service counter, the only thing this dealership is good at is taking money out of your pocket. I brought in my one-month old car because water was leaking in through the sunroof. The Classic VW told me that water leaking into the car is certainly not something covered under the factory warranty, and they would be charging me a $99 diagnostic fee and a $50 warranty deductible for bringing it into them. They said for another $300 they could do something that MIGHT stop the water leak. When I insisted that this should be covered under the warranty, they said that if I wanted warranty work done, I should take it back to the dealership I bought it from, they had no intention of honoring the warranty on a car they did not sell. I did end up taking it back to the dealership that sold me the car, which is more than an hour drive away. They said that of course the leaking roof was covored, and that the "diagnostic" work done by Classic VW was blowing air into the plugged sunroof drains. Blowing air into the drains caused the drain lines to split, and due to DAMAGE CAUSED BY CLASSIC VW, my car has been in repair for several weeks having multiple parts replaced. Do not take your car in for service to Classic VW, their only concern is how much money they can take out of your wallet. read more

The service team and salesperson remember your name still every time you return. In my experience buying a Jetta here, I think they were fair in pricing, not pushy, and they don't try to hook you with all the add-ons that your don't need. I live all the way in Lakewood but still drive all the way out to Mentor for service/maintenance just because of how exceptional the service is here.
