The tilt mechanism in our 20-year-old blinds broke, and we had a great experience with Christine and Chris at Classic Window Shades. Christine set up an appointment and we brought them in to to their store. Chris looked at the problem and determined that he had the parts needed to fix it. They were ready in a couple of days as promised, for a very reasonable price. He also told us how to lubricate the mechanism in our other blinds to prevent a similar problem. I walked in today to search for a hardware mount for a curtain rod I was looking to put into my Honda Element camper. I knew it was a bit of an unusual ask, but Rick was a problem solver at heart. I found Classic Window Shades because I bought a large home with custom Hunter Douglas shades over every single window. Most of them didn't work, and this business was one of the few Hunter Douglas dealers in the areas that worked on repairs. I phoned in and Kristine helped me with my initial communication and maintained communication with me throughout my multiple install dates. She is extremely professional and well organized. I met Rick in the showroom and he helped me with my design and repairs, followed by a visit to my home to measure and select new shades for certain windows. 8 weeks later Chris arrived to install and repair all my shades shortly before we moved in. He was missing some very minor parts for my install, but he ordered and came back to install them as soon as they were in. Some people would have forgotten, as it was so minor but he didn't forget about us, which I really appreciated. I have to say, nothing fell through the cracks, they showed up when they said they would, and they were always easy to reach on the phone. The price seemed comparable to what I would pay at any Hunter Douglas dealer. Such an easy feeling knowing that you have experts, in this case 20+ years of experience with Chris, in charge of installation. He took the time to go over how to work the blinds as they have different ways to open, and then adjusted previous blinds purchased years ago. We put in shades in our office building and wow...pretty horrendous customer service. The shades are fine but how the company deals with its customers would make anyone gag. So we had shades installed on the front windows and doors. Once installed, we opened the doors inward and the shades dropped and fell on our head. We couldn't really figure out what was going on but after some trial and error with the installer, we determined that the top of the shades get banged when the doors open. Basically, the door couldn't open inward more than 30 degrees. When the boss called, his comment to us was," That's the way it is..doors don't open." To which my response was , " Are you freakin serious? Our doors need to open since um..doors open!" So, what he was trying to suggest was that we only have our doors open outward and not inward. I told him that wouldn't work for us since our customers sometimes come in carrying heavy equipment and they will want to push the door in for ease of entry....his response - " so they open outwards instead, so what? who cares?" well, our customers care! He was full of snarky comments back and forth...he asked us why we we had to break the shades on the other door...um, hello! we didnt' know why the shades fell on the first door so we opened the second door to do some investigating. the shades of course then fell on our heads! We asked him if there were any other possible solutions and as we started suggesting anything...he was full of "nos, nos, and nos..but he said them more like NO NO NO!...he was yelling the NOs before we even had a chance to suggest anything! End resolution is basically we couldn't put the shades on the door but the roundabout way in which we go to our resolution was having to deal with a totally rude condescending guy who really has no interest in listening and def does not want customers. so potential customers, stay away! read more

Wow....I used this company before only for replacing batteries in my hunter douglas shades. Today I talked to the owner by phone to discuss pricing and deciding which shades I wanted battery replacements on. With a $800 plus original quote, it should have been expected by the owner for a customer to have some legitimate questions and to decide if they want to reduce the number of shades for battery replacements. This woman was HOSTILE and insulting! Clearly if my entire home is HD shades, I can afford her services, but I want to ensure I'm not being taken advantage of. She started off with me as if she was in war lol.... telling me her tech had already waited around at my house with no work to do for an hour (her literal words), and I told her he had been looking at what needed to be done, and calculating an estimate. How was this a problem, and how was this my fault? Sheesh.... I pity the employees at her company, and HD needs to know that a customer unfriendly tyrant is repping them. I can easily afford her service, and the tech was a gentle man, but I'd never do business with this violent insulting business owner again.
