August 3, 2025 - Yeah, here we are back again today. My family doesn't have much creativity, but hey we liked it so much yesterday, Claws made easy to come back again. I doubled up on the sweet tea today and now it's got me all jittery and skittish. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tea, it's making me sing with glee, swing from the tallest palm tree, clothes off and I am free! Come dance with me, mockingbird, come dance. It's my stance that when I'm standing I'm more commanding of the respect I deserve, and Claws stands on business so respect them! Anyways. Instead of the Jambalaya, I want with the lobster roll today, and a saffron rice side. With the smell of the lobster, it wasn't hard to decide, I had to try it. The rice was delicious like it was last night in my jambalaya. And I'd be a liar to say if my meal wasn't even better today! Holy cowlick on my goggles, the lobster roll was so good. The lobster salad was pure perfection, not one flavor was overwhelming or more than the rest. All together the lobster, the lettuce, the dill and the mayo, aced the test. The roll was a perfect fit for this concoction, it held the meat in place so that I can place onto my taste buds. Holy sizzle, sweet holy sazoodle, and all different words that rhyme with noodle and poodle. Claws is a fan favorite, no question there. I'd slather that lobster salad all in my hair. We enjoy a visit to Claws when in town. They have seating both inside and outside, which is always a welcome treat! They are always consistent with their food from year to year and we enjoy their specials. My daughter and her friend shared the 2 pounds snow crab legs special. It came with two sides and plenty of food for each of them. We always start with the hush puppies, which are crispy and flavorful and come with a great butter. My mom and I decided to split the twin lobster tails which also came with two sides. My dad got the fried oysters which he really enjoyed. I enjoyed sharing his tartar or remoulade sauce! It was briney and full of flavor! The service was good and the server checked on us multiple times. The only complaint I would have is that we were a party of five and we were charged an automatic gratuity for "a large party". She highlighted it on the bill but didn't verbally tell us that she put the charge on there. Normally, a party of eight or more are considered a large party. As always, we had a wonderful experience at the seafood house. We've been enjoying Claws Seafood House since we began going down to Rehoboth. Specifically, this past Sunday (8/17/25), we had the pleasure of having Lexi (hope I spelled that right) as our server. Such a wonderful person with a heartwarming smile and personality. During our time at the restaurant, the party next to us had some sort of an issue. Lexi and the on-duty manager handled the customer's concern(s) with the utmost professionalism. We came here to eat one evening during our stay in Rehoboth. My son really wanted a whole lobster which is sold here. The wait staff started off good initially then they pretty much forgot about us after they brought us our food. We dined early, 530 pm but on a Saturday so it was already very busy. We took the last two seats at the small bar to avoid a wait for a table and enjoy all day Saturday happy hour. Bartender was slammed but eventually we were able to order a happy hour beer and a Dark and Stormy cocktail. Husband liked his Atlantico beer, I have never had a worse Dark and Stormy. Sour and dismal, I probably should have sent it back but felt I might never get another. We went straight to entrees, spouse had the happy hour mussels and I ordered the grouper risotto. He was totally happy with the mussels, it was nice to be able to order white wine and not the marinara mentioned on the menu. I loved the grouper fish itself, and it came out blackened as I requested . But it was covered in a over thick, very heavy cream sauce which combined with the creamy parmesan risotto was like having a bowl of fish chowder. I was so disappointed to have this beautiful piece of fish ruined with literally cream gravy. Even if the fish had been placed on top of the risotto, without being covered in the thick gluey cream sauce I would have felt differently. I did eat the asparagus and the fish, but the rest went in the trash. Sorry this dish was not a winner. Based on my drink and meal experience we finished and paid without dessert or another round. We came for the All You Can Eat crab special priced at $49.99 per person. The crabs were mostly small to medium-sized, but they were incredibly fresh and juicy. The four of us devoured about 3 to 4 dozen crabs in total. I believe it's well worth the price because of the excellent quality of the crab. The only minor inconvenience was the presence of bugs due to dining outdoors. It would be great if they could provide more fans outside to address this issue. However, I must commend the friendly and helpful service. The staff consistently checked on us, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The Fins Group offers several restaurant options while dining in RB, all providing quality seafood and tasty dishes. On this visit we stopped at Claws for dinner. Service was prompt and friendly and we were seated at a table that was large enough for everyone instead of being squeezed in like other places. Our meals were portioned well and very good. On this visit our group sampled: Crab pretzel (large and very good to share), Caesar Salad with calamari, Fish and chips (cooked perfectly), Ahi tacos (delicious), and the Peacemaker Po Boy (very good). The only complaint I have, which also happened when dining at another Fin's restaurant, is the Children's menu Fish and Chips. The menu lists fish and chips as a choice and includes one side. When the meal arrived it was a piece of fish and a side of applesauce, which the child had chosen, but no "chips/fries". When we brought this to the server's attention he stated that the child didn't choose fries as the side. We attempted to explain to the server that the meal is listed as fish and chips with one side, so if the "chips" weren't included it should only be called "fish". You can't call a menu item Fish and Chips if it only includes the fish. The server then stated that other customers had said the same thing and he would let the manager know the issue (Nothing was changed from the prior year at a sister restaurant, so I don't expect it to after this visit.) The server did bring an order of fries for the child, which was greatly appreciated (Small things like this create loyal customers with so many dining choices in RB) Overall a good place to visit with quality food and a nice local beer selection. read more

You have to sit at the bar if you want happy hour, so we moved inside. The bartender was attentive and nice. We started with peel and eat shrimp, a salad, and 1/2 a dozen oysters. Oysters were super tasty and so was the salad. The shrimp were very overcooked. We had a fish and chips to split for dinner. The bright red decor accents on the outside of restaurant, make this spot super eye catching. Surprisingly this is a true seafood house and not a beach tourist trap. The staff is young, respectful and friendly. The ambiance is very family friendly. My wife was hungry for Maryland blue crab and Claws delivered. She ordered the all you can eat special. The meal came with an order of hush puppies, an ear of corn on the cob, and some steamed shrimp. The steamed crabs were delivered and served table top. The sizes were small to medium. Which for the menu price and ALL THAT YOU CAN EAT... was a good value on these delicacies. The restaurant also has burgers and a nice variety of fish offerings. Adult beverages are available too. Some of the best seafood I've had at the beach! The menu had so many options I had trouble picking an entree- my family and I ate there again later in the week to try other menu items! I ordered blackened mahi and it was an extremely generous portion, very fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was very tender and could easily slice with my fork. Definitely moist. It was great, accompanied by 1/2lb of peel and eat shrimp, hush puppies and corn on the cob and cole slaw, the price was certainly right. So worth it! I could've sat there all night enjoying myself. The shrimp really was fantastic and super fresh. Cole slaw was homemade and delicious as well. Their hush puppies are great too. You'd think in 2022, Googling "best crab legs Rehoboth Beach" would render a scintilla of useful information, but apparently not. I think we actually found this place in the decade old dusty brochure at the front desk in the hotel we were staying at. Either way, I'm so glad we came, as it's not a trip to the ocean for us if we don't eat crab legs, and crab legs we ate. I mean really, if you can't eat crab legs at the shore, you might as well pack it in. (Yes, I'm aware this end of the I-95 corridor favors the Maryland style crabcakes, but I want to KNOW what I'm eating when I break open the legs, suck the meat out, and dunk it in a bowl of butter, ya feel?) It's definitely a pricier tourist destination and the service was passable at best, but we managed to snag an outdoor seat right in their sidewalk area under an umbrella (crucial in the heat). I do love that they, and seemingly everywhere else in the Rehoboth/Dewey area keep Lunetta prosecco and Sea Isle Iced Tea on deck. But we opted for the local Mexican style lager in a nice tall glass, which paired wonderfully with a pound each of Alaskan king crab served on a platter with corn and french fries. Whatever local Delaware hot sauce was on the table was dope and I kept dipping my fries in it. I'd say I'd bottle that shit up, but...well, it was already bottled. With any sidewalk restaurant it can get a little hectic with loud crowds passing by. The only thing I would like to see differently is adding a little more to the barricades than just a little fence. Some places do plants along the entire thing to create some more privacy while eating. The food, however, is wonderful. Fresh oysters, crispy jumbo shrimp and serving sizes were huge. The waitress checked up on my boyfriend and I consistently if we ever needed anything, gave us tips on what to get, etc etc. Hands down one of the best services that I've ever received. However, the reason why I'm giving this review a 4 star is because of the food and it's price. Honestly, the food was not that special for what it's worth. I ordered the LARGE crabs (1/2 dozen) and the crabs came out smaller than expected. Most of them male and not much meat to them. For 1/2 dozen, it costed me $75. Likewise, the fries ($4) were average and the shrimp ($12-15 don't remember) didn't seem all the fresh either. Overall, it was a good meal though.
