The people we dealt with were great and we did buy a car, but the process felt a little shady. Clay Cooley puts "No Dealer Adds" on their website and "the price you see online is the price you pay". That wasn't true for me. They required me to buy $2,000 in dealer adds (cosmetic insurance and elo gps) to get the advertised price. My car was totaled so I need a car and took the deal, but the dealer adds made it feel shady. Just a warning that if the advertised price seems too good to be true it will probably come with mandatory dealer adds despite their claim not to do that. read more

If there is one thing I loathe, it's buying a car and going through the car buying process. I found the car I was looking for and submitted a pre approval and checked availability. Within a min I had a text from Stephen and a follow up call from him (there's a reason he's the #1 Kia Salesperson). Car was available and we set the appointment. Show up for the appointment, was immediately greeted by Stephen and the process started. Stephen was extremely professional, listened to my request (they were within reason) and got me where I needed to be. This process literally took less than 15 minutes. Look, we all want to get the best price/payment etc, but do your homework, know where you credit score really is, and be realistic when discussing price and/or payment. I knew where I needed to be based on my info and they were able to get me within dollars of that. After we agreed in the payment/price, the waiting game begins. This is normal and will happen because you're waiting on the financing from the banks. Waited about 45 minutes for this process and moved to finalizing financials for the car. I've seen people complain about the "covered and protected" plan and that it's required by dealership. Even if that were true, their cars are priced extremely competitive and even with the $995 addition, most times still less that other dealers. Trust me, I did a lot of research on the vehicle I wanted (G70) and they had the best price for what I was looking for (including the CaP plan). It's a Clay Cooley thing and actually gives you a lot. I dealt with Sydney for the final financing part and he was great. Yes, they are going to pitch you on service plans and extended warranties, but hear them out and if it don't work for you, let them know. Sydney was awesome, never pushy and extremely professional. We ended up working out some details and added some additional "peace of mind" coverage. As long as these two gentleman stay at the dealership, they have a customer for life. They made what is usually perceived as a painful process, super simple and easy. Thanks Stephen and Sydney for the awesome car buying experience. You both are top notch and Clay Cooley is lucky to have you both. PS. I had interactions with several other employees while there and pretty certain the experience would be similar. Do not take your car to this location for any service, I dropped off my car almost 4 months ago because the car is having acceleration issues. Initially they told me I need a new intercooler to fix the issue. I cost over 1000 for the part and service. I received the car after they "fixed my car". I drove it not even a mile and it became apparent that, not only did they lie to me. but they didn't even test drive the car after putting the part on. hopefully they will make time to at least diagnose it and tell me what is wrong with it read more

This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any dealership. I brought my Kia Telluride in for service and paid $300 for service which was great. I was excited to finally have a dealership close by who was competent. Boy was I wrong. Brought it back in June for a back ordered part. Fine. I get it. No communication occurred from Jessica (service advisor) about my part coming in. Then they gave my part to someone else. One month later I get a notice for a recall on the front seat. I make an appointment and was told it was an appointment for an appointment. What the heck? Hazid helped me and said they had to order the part for that seat. He said he'd call me when the part arrived and never did. I call the service department to confirm the part was there and it was. So I come in and then Michael helps me...takes my car back and says the part is not here and sorry. It is absolutely ridiculous that these people are that incompetent. I called the service manager (Jose) twice and left a message...never heard back from him. This is beyond subpar, these people don't even have basic communication skills. Done with them obviously and will never step foot in this place and suggest you don't either. They don't care and were not professional. I will happily drive to Plano and McKinney to service my car. We visited this dealership yesterday and liked the 2022 Kia Sportage during this time They talked to us 2-3 times this car is sold but we can still give you but you should decide today before you go like that.When we sat down to make a deal, the price they offered us was really funny. The price we saw when the salesperson looked at the car on the computer was 19,935, but the sales paper they brought to us said 22,000 dollars. In order to fool us, they also tried to make a discount of 2000 dollars and sell the car at the old price and . Dropped off our car to be repaired under warranty. Was told that we would have to pay for diagnostics to determine if it was covered under warranty or not, but that we would be refunded that money if a covered part had failed. A covered part had failed, which was the condenser core, and they got paid by the warranty company, but would not refund our diagnostics charges. Saddest thing is the service Director tried to convince us that it was actually a different repair that we were not being refunded on when it was black-and-white and even the service advisor agreed. My car exploded from recall a repair, and the first thing they did was report that my vehicle on my credit report was a repo. I turned in a non arson police report. They continued to ignore the fact that I needed a vehicle or me with a loaner. I went more than 90 days having to get a uber waiting on a decision while determination associate Adilene said that they crunched the numbers and would not assist further. A few days later I was cleaning the inside and wiped around the instrument panel and felt a crack in the plastic. I am so happy I came here! I received a safety recall notice in the mail, so I googled the nearest dealership and decided to schedule an appointment on my day off. I was leery because of the negative reviews, but this location was too close to home not to give it a chance. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by Rudy who was professional from start to finish. They advised that my appointment would be about 40 minutes long, and I brought my headphones and came prepared to wait instead of drop off. It ended up being longer because they found some other safety recalls in the system that they needed to address. No problem! They performed the updates and repairs seamlessly. In total I was there for a reasonable hour and 15 minutes, and for the MOST part, it was a pleasurable wait. I just so happened to ditch the headphones and watch "The Real" that was playing on the television. The waiting area is spacious, clean, stocked with refreshments, and has free WiFi. The only downfall that I experienced was that I got hounded by a salesman while getting coffee. He slyly preyed under the guise of a gentleman, asking questions to form his plot. Ugh. I saw him come up to another lady later too. He spotted her from afar, but she was able to dodge the bullet because her phone rang in the nick of time. Definitely annoying. Don't come for us unless we send for you, salesmen! That rubbed me the wrong way for sure. Not sure if this is the most integral dealership to buy from, but the service area is wonderful! The staff in the maintenance department are rude and discriminatory towards people with service dogs. They try to deny you a loaner vehicle because they're contract says no pets allowed in their vehicles. They violate the Americans with disabilities act in the fact that they try to device service to people with service dogs. They also lie about the work they do and tell you that it's fixed when it's not. I get hostile when you challenge them on their lies, and the violation of state and federal laws. They ask what is your disability and if you have proof of it to prove to them that you need a service dog. They tell you when your car is in for warranty repairs that you have to take the car back to the dealership where there are repairs were done. In my case, according to them, I would have to drive all the way to Oklahoma!! My car is a Kia and Kia warranties their vehicles at all Kia dealerships. When you call them out on their lies, they will scream at you and threaten to call the police to have you physically removed from property. If you want to get ripped off by the service department, deceived, have poor work done now and be yelled out feel free to go here. I 've left my car at clay Cooley KIA in Irving for the evaluation on 06/13/2023because of the light noise on the driver side , my car has been there for 10 days, i've been calling several times for the first week , no one could tell the status of my car , on one of the call it put my on hold for almost an hour until i hung up and dialed again then somebody answered but he put me on hold again and i just gave up and hung up. Few minutes later the supervisor ( Dawson Williams) texted me and he said they looked the car on 06/16 /2023 ( 3 days after i dropped my car) but they still don't know what's the problem. I have putched 3 cars now from the Cooley Auto Dealers. 2 of the 3 were from Cooley Kia in Irving. Salesman (James Carr) reminds me of how people treated people maybe in a 1930's movie. James treated my wife, son, and I like family from the first call. He responded with urgency, acted with Kindness, and really over delivered on our 1st purchase. 2nd purchase was even more of a pleasant surprise. Also the support team finance and management really worked well with James and there was no surprises, misleading info, or haste. James is the epitome of integrity and a true gentlemen. The customer service here deserves negative stars. 5 months and no real timeframe on repairs and no loaner car, and I was first on the list months ago and rather than just being brutally honest they insult my intelligence by making excuses. First Dorsey in early March, "we're escalating your case, expect an answer in 7 days"; no call back, then someone else "we're now escalating, you should hear in 7-10 business days", no call, then Maria located in Tucson, "we're escalating your case, you should hear back in 7-10 business days" Day 10, I call back, "we're waiting on a battery which are back ordered, we'll let you know when becomes available." Me: "any time frame? best estimate?". Maria: "we don't know when we'll get them." Me: "so, maybe never?" Maria gets short with me, "we don't have a time frame; we'll reach out when one becomes available." Me: "well how about a loaner car or put me into any comparable Kia at this point and salvage the relationship with the customer, since the battery probably exceeds the car's value." Maria: "we don't loan cars, that's up to the dealership." She is no help, I ask to speak to supervisor, naturally, no supervisor available. I have a 2015 KIA FORTE. And I keep it in good condition. I have always used Clay Cooley KIA even before it was Clay Cooley. I drive about 45 mins to get there. On this particular morning it took me an hr. and 15 mins because of the rain and traffic. There are 2 KIA dealerships in Mesquite where I live 1 - 5 mins and one 18 mins from me but I've always preferred C Cooley. I paid for the full service oil change ($150.00) that included the tire rotation. When I got to my next stop I realized that they did not do rotate the tires. And when I txt the service tech (Christian Elizondo) he swore that they'd done it but I explained to him that the tire on the back driver's side had not been rotated. Then he responded that he may have misspoken he said he saw him do the front tires. Everybody knows that the front tires move to the back and back tires move to the front!!!!! First off I loved my 2023 Kia Sportage. The issue is I had someone rear end me back in beginning of March and we are going on June soon and still no word on when the specific car parts will be delivered for repairs and I am getting my car worked on at the Clay Cooley Collison Center. I am still expected to pay a car note monthly but with NO car and NO information on when the car parts will be in. I loved the service thus far but if I still don't get a word back, I am highly considering contacting an attorney. Terrible treatment by Service Manager Dawson. The Kia Rio 2021 I bought at Clay Cooley Kia was bought with an I Owe You for a new windshield, it also had a bad USB portal both had to be covered under warranty and to this day the USB parts have not come in (see message) and it has not been fixed and Dawson continues to deny me of a loaner vehicle. I was number 1 in the list to get a loaner for 1.5 weeks and Dawson, the manager lied about the warranty work completion to deny me the loaner which has caused a lot of headaches to find transportation to my workplace and to get basic needs met. He told me after a week and a half of waiting for a loaner vehicle that he would not get me into one because my car was in for repairs from a theft attempt, completely disregarding that it had warranty work as well. When I questioned him, he lied and said the warranty work was already completed. My KIA was stolen for a few hours, and I brought it in to have the anti-theft device that Clay Cooley Kia completely failed to inform me of at time of purchase. Important recall that deters thefts to steal this easy to steal cars. Up to today 2/5/2024 (2 plus weeks since my car was left for service) Dawson has not given me a loaner car, even though my car is still getting a USB repair UNDER WARRANTY. Shown in this picture is the message today saying that they have not even received the part. Please, please do not service your car here, do not buy here. I was naive and did not read the insightful negative reviews of other customers here. Dawson is a very disrespectful man, I was understandably frustrated for his unfair and discriminatory treatment denying a loaner vehicle and also because of his lack of knowledge of the KIA vehicles. Dawson insisted to me, my son and his father that the new KIA Rio parts he ordered had an immobilizer. He obviously did not understand the mechanics. I had to ask to speak to a tech, a young gentleman who was knowledgeable and kind to explain why the RIO did not have an immobilizer and had a recall for an anti-theft system to be installed. My wife and I went to this dealership in December 2019 to purchase a Stinger GT for $32,000 with $10,000 down payment. Our credit wasn't great but we needed a car after her accident a few weeks prior. Now that our credit is better we are ready to trade up to a Stinger GT1 at a different KIA Dealership. We knew that we had about $15,000 equity in our GT. After working numbers and getting ready to move forward we found that we had negative equity of $10,000. WHAT? Once the new KIA Dealership Salesman and I took a closer look at the paperwork, Cooley Kia increased the price of a 2019 Kia Stinger GT to $45,000. Clay Cooley Kia behaved in an unethical and possibly illegal manner. They would not honor their advertised pricing on their website. This is clearly dishonest, unethical, and seems to violate FTC guidelines. I should have taken documentation of the numbers they kept offering me to submit a formal complaint. The FTC needs to investigate this dealership. Their website listed a Kia Certified pre-owned at a price, and they refused to honor that price (plus TTL of course). In negotiations, they started with a base price several thousand over the advertised price, and in addition to that had several thousand dollars in a mandatory "reconditioning fee". This is not disclosed on their website advertising. After three times back and forth wasting my time, they were still coming back with numbers with the base price over the advertised price, and on top of that the reconditioning fee. This was after I called them out two times for not honoring their website price. Clearly engaging in false advertising. I would not buy from them no matter what kind of deal they offered me. They are clearly unethical and dishonest, and I wouldn't trust them on any transaction. read more

Absolutely terrible service. my car has had the same issue for 6 months: the fan does not turn off when the car is off and the battery drains. The car is a little more than 3 years old. AAA has come 4 times to jump it and Kia can't figure out what's wrong with it. most recently, Clay Cooley Kia had it for almost 2 months. They said they finally fixed it. I've had it back a few days and the fan wouldn't turn off and now the battery is dead. Clay Cooley claims I damaged their rental car (it was completely fine when I returned it) and they fraudulently filed a claim with my insurance company. Do NOT go here. read more

Bought a used 2023 EV6 on 2 days ago. Car buying experience was ok, but just know these guys are looking to nickel and dime you on everything. They give you a price when you actually get to the dealer that is completely different (more) than what they have advertised online. But my main complaint was that when the salesman turned over the car to me he stated they only had one key fob for it. I called the used car director (Juan) who didn't answer but I left a message as him to return my call as i need to speak to him about it...No call back. I then texted salesman (Travis) and told him I needed them to make me right on the 2nd key fob since he never disclosed that to me in the whole car buying experience until he was hurriedly trying to give the car to me. He said it was his day off but if Juan didn't call me back before the next day he would talk to him. Travis did call me the next morning stating that he talk to his boss and that it is not standard for a used car to come with a 2nd key fob. I told that was BS on a 1 year old $43k used car with 4200 miles and that my trade in was a 10 year old car that I provided the dealer with 2 key fobs. He stuck by his answer and that they would only go half on the key fob with me...Having me pay the retail cost of $300 for the fob and they would program for free. I told him I would take care of it myself. But they are losing a potential returning customer as we buy a new car every 3 years. Two days ago I was very grateful that Clay Cooley Kia assisted us with financing a car. We specifically asked about gap insurance. We asked due you our last car was a total loss and the gap insurance was a great help. The finance manager,was in a room with 3 of us. When we asked him about gap insurance he stated that they do not sell it, that we would have to go through our own insurance. He also stated that it would probably be less expensive through our insurance. He had me sign all highlighted lines. I trusted him. My mistake. I trusted the Clay Cooley group as a whole. Today I called our insurance company and they do not sell gap insurance. Clay Cooley wants 850.00usd to add gap insurance that we originally requeste. DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. My experience with this dealership has been the worst from the time my wife and I purchased our vehicle and afterwards. It started when they brought our brand new vehicle to the front for us after it was washed and prepped, the front window has a major crack right down the middle. It took their outsoursced windshield folks 3 months to get the correct windshield in, and this took me calling multiple times. We were promised several things at the time of purchase, none of which were carried out, including free oil changes. We've enjoyed our new vehicle, however the service from both sales and the service department has been horrible. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing from this dealership in the future and will let friends and family know this. Our experiences with this dealership are shockingly horrible! Our daughter has a Kia Soul that was tagged for recall by Kia. She took it here, they charged her almost $700 for a motor cleanse, did not provide her with a rental, she was w/o a car for two days, and then she was told to drive it for a little less than 1000 miles and bring it back. When she took it back, it was a quart low on oil. The service manager said that was acceptable! She checks the oil frequently and has the oil changed regularly. Now, she has another 800 miles, the car is shaking and stalling, and it is over 2 quarts low on oil! I purchased a 2023 back in November and also a 2019 and was treated like a queen....that is until my air went out on me after 16,000 miles. I called and ended up speaking with Al the service manager and he said I could bring it in. Brought my 2023 in for routine maintenance (oil change and tire rotation) and diagnostic for my air. Christian was my service person and told me they would need to keep my car for a couple of days and they didn't have any loaners. 3 days later, no call or anything. My car hadn't been touched because I have a app that tells me but my salesman told me my car was ready and there was a plastic bag stuck on the fan. Drove my car and air still doesn't work and my tires were rotated becaide I had a flat on the front so that tire is different and was still on the Driver front when I got home and looked. I'm glad I read the reviews and will discontinue trying to reach them for service on my Kia Sorento. Three weeks ago, I reached out to schedule service ti determine the issue on my vehicle. Had to leave a message and no response. Called the following day and was transferred to "the service department". I spoke to a young lady who seemed completely oblivious about service and unable to understand I needed to make a diagnostic appointment to determine the issue. Some of her responses were "so you need to order parts?" (Keep in mind, the issue has yet to be diagnosed). After explaining again, she said "well, what's wrong with the car?" Explained again and she said "maybe you should talk to the service department". I thought I was? I told her I simply needed to make an appointment to bring my car in and determine the issue and cost. She said "we are unable to quote you repair costs unless we see the car." I agreed with her (and I wasn't even asking that) and asked if I could set an appointment to do that. I then asked what the cost would be to diagnose the issue. She said she wasn't sure, so she put me on hold to ask. After 11 mins I hung up. The young lady had all of my info but failed to reach back out. I should have stopped there! The following week, I called again and received voice mail and left a message for a return call. No return call. Last week, I called again and I asked for a service advisor and again received voicemail. Left another message stating I am trying to set up service. At that time, I also went to their website and did the "live chat" stating the need to make an appointment to diagnose the issue. The "live chat" stated that it doesn't have pricing (for the diagnostic fee) so will have a service advisor "get back to me immediately"! Well, it's been another week and nothing. Clearly they have enough business to prevent them from reaching out for additional business. I love my Kia but will go elsewhere to spend my money. read more

Clay Cooley Kia is a joke, every time I call to speak with someone about the warranty on my vehicle, I can never get anyone on the line. I have called 10 sometimes 20 times and no one ever answers the phone. I would not recommend Clay Cooley Kia to anyone. The customer service is terrible. Just had a terrible experience with this dealership. I'm in the market for a specific vehicle and they had a few on their lot. I'm out of state and willing to pay for delivery, so I've expanded my search area. I've also got my own financing so I'm essentially paying cash up front. They came up in my search with what appeared to be reasonably priced vehicles, so I went ahead with contacting them and beginning negotiations. I worked with the Internet Sales manager (who was polite enough) and we settled on a price and got a quote for delivery, over a period of a few hours. Pretty usual car buying experience. Suddenly I receive a message asking if they can call. I'm on the road at the moment but accept the call. The overall sales manager is on the other end and he demands to know when I can come in to the dealership. I had already explained to the other salesperson that I'm out of state and will not be able to come in, hence arranging shipping costs. The sales manager continues to demand that I have to come in before I can buy a vehicle, because of some vague "fraud" reasons. So the deal falls through because apparently there's no other way to verify my identity aside from me travelling hundreds of miles to complete a purchase?? All while essentially being called a fraudster by a pretty rude sales manager. Real bad look, Kia. Either way, if you're looking at this place for buying I car I advise you watch out for some really sketchy behavior and are probably better off buying a vehicle from a better run business. These people don't deserve your time or money. I'd give them zero stars if possible, worst treatment from a dealership I've ever experienced. read more

I wasn't able to get the car I wanted but Torrey Kelly was exceptional!! Really personable and explained everything, and he didn't rush me into/out of his office space like others do that are just trying to get the sale.
