As soon as we pulled up, we were greeted by a beautiful field of Christmas trees ready for the season. A young gentleman welcomed us, explained the process, and handed us a saw so we could start exploring. There were so many wonderful options, but we ultimately chose the prettiest Arizona Blue--and she smelled AMAZING. After we carried it over, the same young gentleman and an older man kindly helped wrap the tree for us. Inside the quaint gift shop, we paid for our tree and browsed through all the adorable goodies and festive holiday décor. My son especially loved the complimentary candy canes the sweet older woman insisted he take. Overall, our experience was fantastic. We may have just found our new annual spot for Christmas trees. Willow Oaks is closer to Fredericksburg than Belmont, feels more intimate, and everyone we encountered was friendly and full of holiday spirit. Highly recommend!

I have a long…read morebed pickup so much of these materials have been me going and getting it although stone was generally delivered just due to the weight. I generally need between twelve and eighteen yards of various materials every Spring as I have a large property with lots of landscaping. As such, I have done business with most of the purveyor's of mulch and stone in the Albemarle County area. I have found Rose Hauling's products to be of high quality and the customer service to be top notch. I came on here to post this after reading through the 1 star review. It does sound like a poor experience but I would also suggest some culpability on the part of the reviewer since having some familiarity with the size stone being discussed should be expected. You can stop in at either Rose's or Luckstone and they can show you the different grades of materials including stone size.

Rose hauling suggested a #3 stone for setting up a shed on. This stone is EXTREMELY way to large for raking or leveling to set a prebuilt shed on using concrete block. I'm truly at a loss for words that a company being in business this long would have made such a grave error. After recommending the wrong stone they set up the delivery. It was asked a number of times and communicated to the driver on site that we needed it spread as much as possible. Mind you the driver was able to drive to the location of where the shed is being placed, no trees, no overhead powerlines, no buildings in his path.....however He COULD NOT SPREAD****HE DUMPED 4 yards of #3 stone right in the middle of the shed location. What in the world did he or anyone expect us to do with this. RAKE IT?????? I've never been so taken back by such blatant laziness and disregard for putting a customer in such a situation. Now, Rose Hauling completely blames us for the incorrect stone....which keep in mind THEY suggested since we had NO IDEA what to get and for the driver NOT being able to spread NOT one bit....but could clearly dump. Never again will I deal with such a company that takes no responsibility NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY. Which did I mention we now have to pay someone an additional $100 on top of the almost $400 we paid to deliver 5miles if that, spread this LARGE pile of VERY LARGE stone so that the shed can be set up tomorrow. Again, if you want a very customer service oriented company deal with Luckstone in Ruckersville. If I could give a NEGATIVE number this is truly what this business deserves.

Having purchased from Grelen in the past, we called to discuss our needs and worked with Sarah on design and plant selection. She was very helpful and responsive and came up with a design that met our needs for a low maintenance, deer resistant garden. As part of the plan, we wanted to transplant 3 large (8' tall) boxwoods. The Grelen crew managed that part beautifully - picking up and moving the plants with skill and care. They then prepped the bedding areas carefully - keeping what we wanted and removing the rest; adding and tilling in compost and putting in new plants. The size and number of plants had to be adjusted slightly, but that was done very skillfully. Joaquin and Roman, the crew leaders made some excellent suggestions, based on their extensive experience, that we and Sarah were glad to take. The crew did great work: they were careful, neat, and skillful. I'm not sure where Grelen falls on the cost spectrum. Friends have said they are expensive. I'd say they aren't cheap, but I think they did very good work and were efficient, skilled and careful. So far, I think we've gotten what we paid for.

Other companies had done a good job in previous years, but the Grelen price was less and they promised a more environmentally safe product. In the end, the fruits were totally covered with and killed by rust -- it was the worst outcome in 12 years! Grelen refused any responsibility and would not even refund their fee, much less pay for the damage their incompetence caused. They were arrogant and argumentative. Find someone who will stand behind their work -- not Grelen!

I haven't had my mulch even for a year yet and I'm growing mushrooms everywhere! These mushrooms have killed all of my plants and trees. The mulch has not been treated, I called on a Friday and left a message for the manager named "Haynes" to call me back. A week goes by and still no call back. I went up to the establishment and spoke with him. He was extremely RUDE and said that mushrooms don't come from the mulch. I had three different landscape companies come out to my house, and they verified that it was bad mulch. I've lost thousands due to purchasing bad mulch.
