The reason for 3 stars is due to the way they are handling Covid safety measures and the overall cleanliness of the store. There is a sign out front stating you have to wear a mask to enter, so I did, of course. Another customer came in and he was wearing a mask. The gentleman working behind the security glass counter had a mask on. A woman came in and she was NOT wearing a mask. The selection of alcohol and beer was impressive. But the store itself was messy and appeared as if it had been ramshackled by people searching for drinks. Despite this, if you are in the area and need a beverage of any kind in the alcohol department, you should find it it here. They sell wine, beer, hard liquor galore, candy, snacks, and ugh, cigarettes. It is a classic liquor store full of booze. LOL, Cheers and happy drinking. read more

Definitely the best beer/wine store in Monterey. It's not the cheapest (if you can find things on sale at Safeway, that's probably it), but it has by far the best variety in terms of selection, especially for craft beer. The wine offerings are also pretty solid and they have all kinds of weird bottles in here. Found a 2008 bottle from Hungary that was fantastic at an extremely fair price. There may also be some duds and things that have passed their expiration date, but there's plenty of other options if you're not happy with it. Other places in Monterey are far worse in terms of non-expired inventory management. Overall, it's really a craft beer place first, followed by wine, and then some liquor as well. But that combo is so rare in Monterey that it wins its category nearly for just existing. Everyone on staff has been very nice and more than willing to offer suggestions when asked. This spot always has the best selection of beers. The staff is knowledgeable and always able to offer guidance. First thing I always ask when I walk in is what's going to be gone tomorrow? They get hooked up with more rare beers from California brewers than a typical conner liquor stop. Because of the selection I always almost end up walking out with something special and am empty wallet. If you're looking for something special or hard top get this is the spot. read more

I'm used to. There is only one area and it's behind the register. Tons of wine options though. I give it one star because of the gentleman who was working the register. First off, he must of called me "little lady" 10 times. There are several reasons that that is just not cool! One. We aren't in a western movie. Two. It's 2019 and calling someone "little lady" isn't cool! Third. I am very obese! So calling me "little lady" when I'm very much not is pretty rude. I said to him that there was nothing little about me. He then said, " hey! You said it not me. I was just trying to be nice. AS LONG AS YOUR HUSBAND IS HAPPY"!!! Is this the 1950's?????? It was rude! I left offended and annoyed. And now I'm mad at myself for not standing up for myself, purchasing the liquor there and leaving without saying anything. If you're easily overstimulated with stuff, or if you're a recovering alcoholic, I highly recommend you don't visit Bottles N'Bins. For everyone else, ya'll should definitely try it. Conveniently located off the main drag, getting to B&B is easy, but maneuvering entering, parking, and exiting can be tricky. Once in, though, it should all be a breeze. Absolutely covered from wall to wall, up all the sides and stacked high, are every type of alcohol and otherwise that your heart could possibly desire. Some of my favorite selections at this place are the 21st Ammendment Hell or High Watermellon Wheat Beer, the Saffron infused Gin, the incredibly diverse sonoma county wine selection, and the neat flavored mixers and specialty cocktail ingredients scattered about the store. Biggest surprise was finding the Brother's Ridge by Rodney Strong there for $60something, when we purchased a case of it at Rodney Strong for over $75 per bottle, absolutely amazing. Now that I'm in Monterey on a regular basis, I will be returning, and am looking forward to discovering all the delights that B&B has hiding in its extensive collections. read more

Ahhhhhh... Bottles and Bins. Your locally owned one stop shop for that top shelf liquor and craft beer. Vince the owner will help you find what your looking for. They have a huge selection of fine scotch and bourbon. They even carry 5 gallon kegs for those of you that own a kegerator. They also carry the full size kegs, and single bottles of craft beer as well. I went in and met Vince and told him that I was looking for a 5 gal keg of Blue Moon. Unfortunately he did didn't have it in stock, but he was really helpful and told me that he would have it ordered. In the mean time, I was able to pick up a 5 gal kegs of Firestone Luponic. Thumbs up to Vince for the small locally owned shop. I'll be back to pick up that Blue moon keg bud!! Cheers ! read more

Lots of different alcohol, even weird stuff and expensive small batch selections. Now I know why a cocktail made with some artisinal booze costs $15. To be rich and have a bar with all this...well, perhaps that wouldn't be such a good thing. What makes all this interesting is that it is all jumbled about, boxes on the floor, knowing they got a shipment, but taking some time to find it. People order unusual stuff from them. I like that big-city jumble sometimes. Actually several parking spots. Not bad most of the time. Friendly staff. Carlos's especiale foo foo cocktail, universally beloved*: 2 oz whipped cream vodka. Spend the extra couple of bucks for natural flavor, just because. Mix in glass of orange juice. I suggest getting expensive fresh squeezed for this, or the closest you can get to it. You could also add a bit of lemon to tart it up. You can add 1/2 oz simple syrup if you feel the need to. Same for a burst of whipped cream, again hopefully some decent brand. You might want to blend this with an egg, but haven't tried this. I would think maybe 1 egg per 2-4 glasses. There is some danger in raw eggs (per my attorney). I mixed it in an ice-filled shaker and poured it over ice. * Never met anyone who didn't like an orange julius! This tastes jut like one! Of course, you get vitamin C, but you also can drink a lot of these pretty quickly and get into trouble. Save one for breakfast. read more

Like many others I've been discovering the joys of fine Belgian beers recently. The only problem is I had run through most of the brands at places like BevMo and other liquor stores and was really craving some new, hard to get finds. Thank god I found this place! I've yet to find another liquor store that has such an extensive selection of great Belgian doubles, triples and quads. Really rare stuff that you're not going to find at many other places in the States. Their selection of other beers as well as wine and liquor is also very good. On top of the great selection the owner is very helpful and will try to find you something that they don't carry in the store. ZOMG! THIS is my new favorite place to shop on the peninsula! What an awesome selection of beer. But what really sells this place is the service. I walked in the door, asked the guy what microbrew he had that he would recommend with a steak, and ended up talking about beers for 15 minutes. A sign painted on the window boasts that Bottles 'N Bins has the best selection of Belgian beer--or something to that effect. I stopped in for a look. Wow, they do have a great selection of Belgian beer. They also has quite a few domestic Belgian style ales from some of my favorite craft breweries. The prices are reasonable, too. I bought a bottle of North Coast Brewing Company's Brother Thelonious, a Belgian style abbey ale, for only $6.99. Part of the proceeds goes to support the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. What a delicious, tasty brew. It's also nice to know I'm supporting the arts while I get my beer buzz on. I picked up a sixer of Dragon Slayer IPA from the local beer maker, English Ales Brewery, too. I only wish Bottles 'N Bins was close to home, instead of way up there in Monterey. read more

You definitely should know what you're looking for, however, as the prices for the same product can fluctuate wildly from week to week for no apparent reason. Also, be aware that sticker prices on the bottles are not always honored, the only explanation given being that they have "no control over what the scanner says". The have the best prices on Louis Martini Cabernet Sivgionon, even cheaper than the PX & the PX has the cheapest beer/alcohol prices but not the selection & not everyone can go there so this place is the best. We always park near here when we go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, because it's 2 hour and no meters (I never have enough change to satisfy those things). Top notch selection of Belgian beers. Today I picked up a St. Bernardus Noel (very good, exactly what I expected from this Abbey ale) & a Flanders brown that I haven't seen elsewhere (saving to share with a friend who loves this style so I can hear his critique). Wish the American beer selection was as good but no stars off - the wide variety of well displayed Belgians earns my visit when we visit and 5 stars! read more
