I called on a Tuesday afternoon because I needed to drop my vehicle off Saturday morning to have my tailpipe fixed that is separated from the muffler. The guy I spoke to over the phone said I could drop it off first thing Saturday morning. I have to be in at work starting at 1:30pm that day too so I asked if they will have it done before that. The guy said "oh yeah, we'll have it ready for you before then." I dropped it off that Saturday at 8:30am and received a phone call later around 10:30am saying that my vehicle was ready for pick up. I went in and the guy said if I was aware about the tire. Confused, I asked him "what about the tire?" and he said that there was a piece of fence stuck in it so they patched it. This is not what I brought the vehicle in for so I went outside to see if the tailpipe was patched and it was still separated! I went back in to inform them why I had brought my vehicle in originally and they had no idea what I brought my vehicle in for originally. They proceeded to inspect my vehicle to examine what needed to be done, got me a quote and said the muffler and tailpipe had to be fully replaced. I asked if they could do it that same day despite me having to go into work later. He said they couldn't get it done that day because they don't have enough staff and would have to order the parts. So not only was I charged for a service I never requested, my time was completely wasted, and the service I had requested over the phone was never accurately annotated/documented to ensure that my service was taken care of on my vehicle. Not to mention, if you don't have the parts available why would you tell me over the phone that my vehicle would be fixed that same day? Complete lack of attention to detail, communication, and consideration. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Terry, the owner, asked me to drop my car off on Wednesday morning to get an alignment, state inspection, and help me figure out where the knocking in my front end was coming from. Wednesday 4:30 pm he says he didn't get to it but would get it in the morning. Thursday 5 pm he says he didn't get to it but he promised to Friday morning. Friday at 5 pm. He didn't get to it and says he might get it Saturday but they close at 1. At this point I'm highly irritated and say I'm picking my car up Saturday morning regardless of work being done or not. He says he's never had anyone ask for so much work (???) and never attempted even the alignment or state inspection. He had told me before I dropped it off to write down all the symptoms of the knocking, jerking when driving, and difficult steering problems and what has been done so far. I did. Apparently literacy is not one of his skill sets because he took my writing of what has already been done as things I wanted him to do....um NO! Too bad that his employees didn't understand the concept of a dash cam when they were in my car burping, farting, name calling other patrons, and going out for lunch! He said that all components were carefully checked but my car was on the lift for all of 4 minutes which would not have been enough time to remove and replace the belly plate,inspect all parts of the suspension and steering, and actually check anything. Took my truck in for repair due to skipping and loss of power. They told me the catalytic converters were stopped up and needed replacing. So they replaced them along with 4 O2 sensors that weren't even giving off codes. When I picked up my truck from the shop, I requested my old cat's and once I received them, they weren't even bad, plus my truck was still skipping. I ended up having to do what I should of done to begin with, and took it to the dealership. Come to find out the timing chain and guides needed to be replace. Costing me an additional $2k on top of the $1600 they had charged to not fix my truck. I highly recommend not using this place. read more

Time and again these folks have helped me fix my tires with little to no notice and have always been more than fair and kind! Recently, my AC fan wouldn't quit running. It would've drained by battery and my car would have been stuck. They took me right in and sent a mechanic out to disconnect the problem FREE OF CHARGE. I cannot give Clayton Tire & Muffler a better review. Thank you for your hospitality in a day and age when it is often rarely displayed. read more

Needed to get the emissions checked on my car for tag registration. It was 1 o'clock when I walked in and was told that the guy that does the inspections just went to lunch, but my car would be ready in an hour. That wasn't a problem for me because I was dropping it off. I came back at 4pm, the car hadn't been touched and they were doing someone else's car even though no other customers were in the shop when I got there at 1. The lady behind the counter tried to give me some BS excuse about their employee not coming back when he was supposed to. That's not my problem. Waiting 3 hours and 30 minutes for an emissions inspection is unacceptable. I won't go back there again. You shouldn't either. read more

They were very friendly and helpful. We got a nail in our tire and had taken to Just Tires which took 3 hours to even look at it and then tried to scam us into a new tire when said they couldn't fix. We took to Clayton Tire for a second opinion. Within 30 minutes they looked at tire and had it patch/ repaired and was back on the road. I would recommend Clayton Tire over Just Tires every time! read more

I had a bad starter on my 2004 Honda Accord. I have changed two of these on Ford Rangers and 1 on a Chevelle, they were no problem to do myself and I got them all done for under $100. The one on my Honda was a little hard to get to so I had it towed to the shop. They charged $65 to tow. $85 for diagnostic labor despite the fact that I told them what was wrong. $289 for a starter that was marked up from 72% from the Autozone that they bought it from across the street. Finally $335 labor to put it on for a total of $809. I feel so cheated. I have had similar bad experiences in the past with taking cars in for minor things and them saying I had so many thing wrong with the car. They like to use the excuse of well if you don't get this done I won't guarantee my other work. Crooks and scoundrels. read more

Horrible service!! Don't go there ever! They are rude and unfriendly. Never, ever go to Clayton Tire and Muffler. They keep your car all day, literally from 9 am to 5 pm just to rotate the tires. I've tried calling them to see when my car will be ready, but no one will answer the phone. They have horrible service. Don't go ever to them!! You'll regret it! The man who works there was mad at ME for hanging up on him after he told me they had tried calling me, when they hadn't! I've had my phone with me all day and they have called me not one time!! Supposedly, they closed at one but waited til we picked up the car. It was 5:00 when we finally were able to pick it up. Then when my husband went to pay, the man said he wasn't going to accept his money because he didn't appreciate me hanging up him! I hung up on him because he told me he had tried calling me, but I told him there was no way he had because I had had my phone with me all day. Then he said, "Well, that's beside the point!". Yeah, I hung up on you! I'm the customer, dude!! You're not a little boy who got his feelings hurt. You were rude to me! Your bread and butter! read more
