My 10oz top sirloin was listed in the menu as $24.95, but was $25.95 on my receipt. They also added a $4 "beef surcharge" on top of that. They do have a sign posted when you come in that there will be a surcharge, but they don't say how much on that sign or the menu. So, my mediocre steak was $30. I should've just gotten a 12oz steak from the grocery store that's $30/lb and gotten two extra ounces. Mozzarella sticks were just store-bought frozen ones - nothing to write home about. Mac N Cheese was bad, and was an up-charge side for my steak that comes with a side for another $3. Texas toast was just griddled burger bun. My salad came with beets tho, so that was nice, I guess? Ambiance was essentially a greasy spoon vibe with open kitchen, was likely an American diner before. One or two TVs with sports by the bar seating. I've been trying spots around here since moving to the area, and I'll mark this one off as a "no thank you." I wish I would've gotten the ribs to give them a try, but the special steak lured me in and was a swing and a miss. I can eat a lot better for $45 elsewhere.

It's very clear that this place is a local favourite here in Concord…read more The ambiance and service are very welcoming. Staff is very friendly and the place has an older school burger place vibe. Staff is also helpful with orders, especially since it's my first time here. I like that they offer 2 menus for vegans and the other for everyone else. This helps for folks who can't eat red meat or meat in general! I ordered a ghost reaper fried chicken slider, beyond roasted chile slider and cajun fries. I also got a side of ranch. The fried chicken slider was delicious. Spicy but not too spicy that it takes away from the flavour of the slider. The plant based slider is extremely tasty. Nice char flavour and it's wonderful since I can't eat beef anymore that this slider tasted this good. Cajun fries are very tasty. They're crispy and very flavourful. The ranch is not the normal ranch at restaurants which I really like. It's not as sweet and is definitely more herbaceous. My only regret is not ordering 3 sliders lol. Bringing friends back to eat here. I don't see many places that are like this open!

They have different specials and today's was the roast beef sando, it was hefty and good flavor. The Caesar was sooo fresh and delish Now the fries, you must, love how they have the options of mini, half, and full! The wings are also great! John and his entire team are great! The cooks and the entire staff are just good vibes all around. Alex the server is great, really glad we got to catch him on one of his last consistent shift. All around, must try! Nice neighborhood spot, good people, and can't wait for Corner Kitchen to expand and look forward to their specials! This place has been my boyfriend and i's #1 go to spot and will continue to!

I feel bad, because I really wanted to support this place…read more The shopping center where it is located is interesting; one side of it is ok, but the side where "Tokyo Ramen & BBQ" is seems to have it's own micro culture. The parking spots near this restaurant are usually half empty and there's typically at least one suspicious car sitting there with some odd-looking activity going on. Not the fault of "Tokyo Ramen & BBQ". I walked in, even though from the outside it looked closed. A woman followed me in (she seemed possibly homeless. Not judging, just painting a picture). When I walked in, none of the tables had ANYTHING on them. And it looked kind of like they were out of business. I saw no employees. I waited. Then, I saw a man appear from behind the counter (he had been bent over doing something and I didn't see him at first). I wanted to try the food, because the reviews seemed pretty good, but I was sensing that I might regret it if I got locked in to this situation... The lady asked, "Are you open?" And the man said, "Yes". I walked straight out and went to a different ramen place for lunch. So, I can't speak to the food quality. But the ambiance was dismal. And, though it's not their fault, the whole scenario of that side shopping center made me think that they won't be around long. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see myself going back...

I think if they had used fresh (raw) garlic, the whole dish could've been much more elevated. But, with that said, I thought that the flavor was just okay. The broth could've been creamier, in my opinion. But the portion was pretty good and generous. I also chose pork belly as my choice of protein, and I thought the pork belly slices (chashu) was pretty good. Price was pretty standard for nowadays. The ambience of the restaurant was not the best. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant was nice and clean, but there was a lot of restaurant-unrelated items that they attempted to hide but they ended up being not quite well hidden, so they were kind of distracting. But the service was nice.

She then walked towards the register, at this time I'm viewing the menu above her head. I said I was ready to order and she put her phone down and just stared at me, no, "what can I get you? Or how may I help you?" Nothing. I took the stare as she's ready to take my order. Anyways, I ordered the family meal that comes with 3 proteins of your choice, rice, and Mac salad. All for $45.99, great price. Now, the previous place was called JJ's Hawaiian BBQ and those owners were very friendly and kind. I guess I was expecting the same type of Aloha spirit, being the name and all. Unfortunately, this person did not have an ounce of Aloha in her spirit that day. Sad. The kalua pig was dry, the mac salad bland...not the best service or food from this location. The Pittsburg location is better. So 3 stars just because it fed our family and the price point was good. Other than that, I do not recommend it here.
