    Go get the Number #20!!!

I will say this I was referred here by a friend/Coworker of mine who is close with the owner. And when I say she said they have the best sandwiches in the Bay I mean the best sandwiches in the bay! The owner makes everything with heart and soul. His New York heritage outshines the flavors of the sandwich itself and this was only one of them. I imagine the whole list of sandwiches tastes just as good if not better! On Wednesdays he even does a Chicken Parm! I can't wait to get to wee while it last. Apparently they sale out fast on the Parms on Wednesdays! I will one 100000% recommend Canesa's to my fellow Sandwich's lovers! My photo doesn't do the justice of how good this was! Go check them out if you're a sandwich lover!!!

This is a to-go only sandwich spot with a couple tables outside. The service was quick, the sandwiches were fresh, and it's an easy spot to grab lunch after hiking in Mt. Diablo. I liked the Bensonhurst sandwich.

I'm a sandwich lover and I've lately been trying to hit up all the sandwich shops in the area. I found Canesa's Brooklyn Heros on Yelp and I decided to pay this place a visit a few weeks ago. I ordered a Cool Hand Luke which has Pastrami, Pepper Jack, Hot Cherry Peppers, and Deli Mustard. It was a pretty good sandwich. The gentlemen working there were nice too. They even threw in an extra sausage and peppers sandwich for me. Sweet of them. Great sandwich shop in the Clayton area!

    #6 Vinny's Stromboli.

Food: delicious sandwiches. I was a bit worried about what type of bread they would use because my typically go-to for bread would be Dutch crunch and they didn't really ask me what kind of bread I wanted. And I was happy with the bread they used - very nice, soft and pillowy on the inside. I got their #6 Vinny's Stromboli and the combination of salami, ham and pepperoni was really nice, and the tomato salsa added the nice and needed freshness to the sandwich. I'd definitely get this again. Price: $15 per sandwich is a bit pricey, but the sandwich was delicious. Service: super friendly guy at the order counter. Service was pretty quick in general. They took the time to make the sandwiches but I see it as then putting love into what they're making. Ambiance: not a lot to say cause it's technically just a stand but there were some outdoor seating.

Toasted roasted beef with peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, delicious

I absolutely love eating at Canesa! The food is fantastic. Made just the way you like it! Never had a sandwich I havent liked. You can sit at one of the picnic tables and listen to good music and eat. John is awesome, always with a smile.

First of all I've never had sandwiches this long before. Yes they are hero's but i still wasn't expecting it and the bread was delicious. I enjoyed the meat the best the sauce tasted very authentic like they put a lot of love in and we added spicy peppers and it had a punch! Can't wait to try more sandwiches from here. Next door there is a bocce ball court which i thought was fun too!

When I…read morelooked at the menu for online ordering, I got super confused because they had the Dagwood listed under 3 different sections. 2 of them had a starting price of around $17, while one had a starting price of around $13. I figured I'd go with the $13 one, why not? Then I quickly realized that the ordering system was a whole mess. It gave me the option to customize my sandwich, but some of the required fields didn't make any sense at all. For example, I don't like olives, but it required me to select olives. Then there were 2 separate sections for extra meat and extra ingredients, and those were required too, and both came with additional charges!!! I thought requiring customers to add extra ingredients and charging them extra because of that was totally ridiculous. If I don't want extra meat or extra ingredients, I should be able to leave those options blank and still place my order. But I couldn't proceed to place my order if I didn't select those. I ended up trying to go with the $17 option instead with minimal customization options. I eventually just placed the order, went to the store, and picked it up. As for the sandwich itself, it was pretty standard in size and the quality was decent, but there really wasn't much going on inside. It was basically just bread, meat, and cheese. There weren't even any vegetables! No lettuce whatsoever. I thought that was really weird for a sandwich to be very bare like this, especially given that the final total cost was $19 for a single sandwich from a small deli. I expected a lot more from a sandwich at that price! Again, the sandwich wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was worth $19.

The buffet was decently stocked, but my mom was a bit bummed there were no waffles or pancakes. She asked and we were told only the buffet was being offered. So, fine. The food was about as good as buffets get (so so). We asked twice for water and it never arrived. We had to ask 3 times for the bill. What made matters worse was once the bill did arrive. When I opened the bill holder, it had an old-style receipt with simply "150" written down. With (what I assume) was and additional $13 for tax, I was looking at $163 for two for a buffet brunch. There was no indication of prices for the buffet anywhere. I half thought the waiter gave us the bill for the foursome next to us. While I was expecting maybe $45-$50 a person because restaurants like to wring us on these sort of holidays, I am completely flummoxed with how on this green Earth they seriously feel they could charge $75 per person. Highway robbery.

This message is purely on the price and the service of things I came in with my 2 daughters and ordered a total of 5 sandwiches, 3 of which were literally ham and cheese for my obvious 2 daughters that were with me and 1 for my son who was at home when asked if plain I said yes they just want ham and cheese and plain no mayo on one due to my small daughter being picky on sliced bread at that.. He makes them and it comes out to 70 dollars.. I had to get more money as my husband had sent it to me , the guy who made my sandwiches told the guy that I needed to pay and the shorter guy replied to him like yeah I told her, but she needs more money. I kind of felt embarrassed due to the tone he had said it in, needless to say when I was paying, I said something along the lines of $70 was kind of a lot. I didn't know that ham and cheese for a kid would be this expensive in which the guy replied we have kids sandwiches All you have to do is ask... I did not feel like that was a kind response..as again there was attitude.. I paid anyway and I get it things are expensive nowadays and something like a ham and cheese I probably could've made at home but decided to support a local business instead... suggest maybe adding kid options to the menu that's up above and a smile would go very far. I won't be going here again unfortunately.
