They refused to return my calls and I couldn't schedule service. The issue has affected the main battery, Uconnect system and the backup camera, too. The "free" patches and USB fixes come with diagnostic, labor, and service fees. No more OTA updates! Now my extended warranty has expired. They will not return my calls, have blocked my ability to email and will not help me. The really sad part is that they used my original review from here in their print advertising--it was hanging in the shop last time I was there! Also the fixes would be super cheap for them and only fair for them make things right. Sad.

Knowing to never trust a mechanic I do not know, I got a second opinion. Darrell hadn't even drained the oil that he said he found metal in and no metal was found in it when it was drained. I've truly never met a shoddier mechanic. Sounds like he can do some minor air conditioner repairs from the reviews I've seen, but figured I'd give a real review of his diagnostics. By the way, all my vehicle needed was some new spark plugs and ignition coils, under $200 repair. It's running smoothly and definitely has years before it'll need trashed. Don't go to this guy unless you want to waste money and potentially be out a whole car. If you want a good recommendation, go to Auto Care Experts in Yakima.

Dean Automotive & Towing referred us to Derek at Wise Automotive and Derek was able to fit us in to his schedule right away that Thursday afternoon. We went into town for lunch (The Palace - great restaurant!). Derek called with an update an hour later. He found the drum brake had bound up, and also found some water had gotten into the marine grease. Less than two hours later and we had repacked wheel bearings and the brake imbalance was fixed. He had us do a test drive first to make sure it was OK while he finalized the bill. What!?! Let a stranger rmtest drive before paying!! I've worked for an 120 employee new car dealership for 16 years and I was compelled to recognize someone in my industry who did an excellent job diagnosing, keeping us updated on his progress, and did not try to upsell or charge for additional unnecessary work. I felt his charge was fair considering he had to squeeze me into his workload. AND, he texted me the next morning asking if I made it OK, if the brakes worked. Wow! That is so rare to have followup like that in any business! The car business in general has rightfully earned their reputation for being unethical & untrustworthy. After calling multiple tow companies and auto places - we were told nobody could help us. The last tow truck company told me to try Sattlers and when I called the voice of a woman not only talked me through what to do but she also told us to get to their shop slowly without the brakes and they would get us taken care of even though the shop had already closed. With kids and dogs in tow we got to the shop and she came and gave me a hug and comforted my shot nerves! Her and her husband stayed well after closing time to help us resolve the issue and did not charge us an arm and a leg for the last minute work! Very impressed with them and their hospitality- they helped us when nobody else would!

There was no driveway, no yellow curb, no official City of Cle Elum parking sign, and no other indication that curb parking was restricted. The only "No Parking/Tow Away" sign was attached to the fence of a private residence behind the public sidewalk. Under Washington law, a private impound applies to vehicles on private property, while a public impound is authorized by law enforcement or another public official with jurisdiction over the public property. See RCW 46.55.010 and RCW 46.55.080. I have not found any Cle Elum ordinance authorizing private residents or tow operators to reserve or tow vehicles from otherwise unrestricted public street parking. Rather than explaining any legal authority, the driver simply told me to move my car after backing up with lights on posturing. Bummer for him, I had a bad day and am a lawyer, but also too tired to confront a wanna be cowboy. I moved my vehicle because it wasn't worth risking an improper tow, but the experience was unnecessarily hostile and intimidating.
