I have to say I feel conflicted while writing this review. On one hand, the crew at Clean as Snow was hardworking and friendly. On the other hand, the cleaning simply didn't work as promised. I recently purchased a home, and the previous owners had a dog. There were a few large pet stains, and due to my family's sensitivities, I was torn whether I should replace the carpet or get it professionally cleaned. I found Clean as Snow and decided to call them. For an extra fee, they promised that they can remove the pet stains, along with the dander and odor. I had an in-person consultation with the owner, Jared, who seemed quite experienced and knowledgeable. I was convinced they could take care of the pet stains, and I proceeded with the cleaning, which started as soon as I had access to the home. The first crew worked nearly a whole day, and when they were gone, everything was fluffy (and wet) and no stains! Unfortunately, the day after, I saw the stains come back with a vengeance, along with an almost unbearable odor. To be fair, I had been warned that the pet stains could rise up again. So I wasn't too worried when I notified Elaine at the front office, who scheduled a second crew to come out. By then, my furniture was moved in, but the second crew was able to move everything around to access the stained areas. They worked hard for hours, cleaning the spots over and over again. To my disappointment, I soon saw the stains show up AGAIN. At this point, I was experiencing headaches due to the strong pet urine odors + chemical cleaning odors. I also had a lot of furniture/items since I had just moved in. I started to realize that these stains were probably very deep and difficult (if not impossible) to fully remove. With my full-time work schedule, I couldn't risk another full day of cleaning, just to see the stains rise up again. How many more times would the crew have to come out? Ultimately, I decided to go ahead and replace the carpet entirely. I received a small partial refund, but I'm still out of pocket nearly $600. I believed their guarantee that they could remove the stains and odor, but seeing how prominent the stains remained after two full sessions, I lost confidence. I also faced an inconvenient situation where I had to get the carpet installed with all the furniture in place. If I had been told that there's a chance the stains couldn't be removed, I would've definitely gone with a carpet replacement from the get-go, before I had everything moved into the home. Lesson learned: when in doubt, just replace the carpet...especially if you've got pet stains! read more

I will gladly use this company again, when we move out of our next residence. Extremely professional, passionate about their line of work. 1. The owner and admin staff were very responsive to me and my wife through email correspondence. The owner came to our house on the day of the estimate and the day of the cleaning with descriptive details on what would be done and what couldn't be done at the house given our special Alpaca and Wool rug. He basically saved us a few hundred dollars and in the end, it resulted in a lower bill! 2. The 3 person cleaning crew were very efficient, arrived on time, and what struck me was when they cleaned my broom and dustpan... that is above and beyond what I call service. 3. The carpet service was outstanding. The owner supervised the worker as they cleaned the carpet using a special vacuum operated from a vehicle, this was not cheap equipment like a rug doctor, it was heavy duty, and reached all the way to our 3rd floor condo. They made the carpet look newer than it did a year ago when we first moved in! 4. During the 4 hour clean up job, another staff member stopped by to see if I was satisfied with the job. All in all, a total of 6 people from the company came to the house and the admin staff called me during the job to facilitate the payment transaction. This, is clearly well organized, even during the COVID-19 situation... the staff kept their distance and wore masks, wow! 5. We have used other, big name professional cleaning services, but they don't compare to the skill and quality of Clean as Snow. read more

It seems to me like the vast majority of folks who post public reviews are either very satisfied or very unsatisfied with their experiences. This review falls in the latter category. I've posted some photographs to accompany my words. A lot could be written, but suffice it to say that I sent three Persian rugs and one Afghan rug to Clean As Snow for cleaning and paid $650 per rug. This seemed like a good deal to me as I was told that the rugs were handwashed and great care was paid to each one. A week later the rugs came back to me. They had not been handwashed. They had been machine washed. The cleaning solution created light splotches on each of the rugs - one rug in particular is completely ruined due to a large bleach spot. That spot is illustrated in the photograph. And the wonderful Afghan rug that had white trim on each end now has pink/purple trim on each end. I contacted the owner and complained. He came out, took his own photographs and said he would be back in touch. When he did, he stated that he had consulted an expert who told him that Persian rugs do tend to blotch over time. I pointed out that the blotches appeared only after he washed them. He repeated the same line. I asked him whether white trim on Afghan rugs tends to turn pink over time, or perhaps it was due to the washing process. He didn't have an answer for that one, either. So instead of arguing further, I recognized that I had screwed up by picking this company and just asked for my money back. I didn't ask him to replace the rugs or compensate me for their replacement - I just asked him for a refund. He continued to state that he had done nothing wrong, but that he would refund the payment for one of the rugs - a grand total of $650. And he never did that either. So I paid $2500 for the company to ruin these four gorgeous rugs, offer a partial refund and then not send the refund. So that is my experience with Clean As Snow. I've not written something this long in a public forum before. The lesson learned with cleaning valuable rugs is to send the least valuable rug for cleaning. Then, if the rug is not destroyed, send on your others. Don't trust positive reviews of a merchant on Yelp with your entire rug collection, as I did. Our dog was kind enough to urinate on a nice white carpet. The stain wan't an issue since the carpet was 12+ years old. But the smell was a killer. We did everything to try and remove the smell, including washing with straight vinegar. Thankfully another cleaning service recommended Jared and hit team. And I was amazed. they spent a couple of hours, and at the end of the day, the smell was gone and to our surprise a carpet we thought about getting rid of, now look new again! Jared and his crew were great to deal with, from the initial contact, to scheduling, to the cleaning all went really well. Our wall to wall carpet looks and smells brand new again. This isn't meant to be a funny review, but the carpets in our townhome have a LOT of puke and poop stains from our dog's anxiety issues during thunderstorms, which we've been having a lot of in NoVA lately. Clean as Snow was easy to schedule with. Jared dropped by to provide us a quote and explain the process. He was able to send his team the next day and the carpets were literally "Clean as Snow" in an hour. They reviewed the area to be cleaned, confirmed the estimate given by phone, then reviewed for pet stains. I'm embarrassed to say I had more pet stains than I thought. Their final price included treating the stains. They gave me a slightly lower final cost when I asked- $30 less. I'm so happy with the result. The carpet looks like new and better than I hoped. I've been cleaning the carpet with my own portable machine and I can say it did not do the professional job that this company did. I will continue to use my own machine but plan to have them come back annually to professionally clean the carpet.
