I absolutely love Clean Eatz. The food always taste very fresh and even when I get the frozen grab and go meals they heat very well. I love their carnivore pizza and pick up one all the time for a quick dinner. Also, their buckeyes are delicious if you're looking for a dessert that won't completely derail your diet On this particular trip I tried the bison wrap, and it was very filling and delicious. I visited Clean Eatz after my HIT class on Wednesday evening. I've thought about stopping here on several occasions, but this was my initial visit. I was under the impression they only sold to go packaged meals. However, they serve a wide variety of hot food as well to include CYO bowls and wraps. They also create and sell protein shakes and smoothies. The to go cases are nicely organized and feature an assortment of packaged frozen meals to include low carb, beef, chicken, vegetarian, and vegan. I was chatting with my boss the following day who mentioned he dined there in the past. He's a big fan and recommends the bison burger. Jarred (I apologize if I spelled his name incorrectly) was great! He greeted me the moment I walked in the door and schooled me on the various meal options. He was extremely knowledgeable about the product and gave me his recommendations. I left with 4 meals and I've enjoyed two to date: the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the cowboy shepherds pie. The buffalo creation had a generous amount of white tender chicken breast but could've benefited from some more flavor. It was good but again, could afford some more spices. On the contrary, the cowboy creation was epic! It was robust with flavor and also had a generous amount of meat. I'm looking forward to trying the other two meals in the week ahead. I'll definitely return for some pre packaged meals but also look forward to trying a wrap or protein shake on my next visit. Interesting place. Sells both frozen meals and fresh. We only tried their fresh options. It's not entirely clear what they mean by "clean" According to their website they're not organic and being all-natural or utilizing grass-fed meat would be cost prohibitive. They also serve their hot food in/with black plastic bowls & utensils. Would be great if they could use a "cleaner" choice. It was also not entirely clear which menu items were gluten/soy/sugar/nut free etc. Always appreciate when restaurants marketing themselves as healthier make note of this sort of thing on their menus. Thankfully the cashier was helpful and informed. All that said their food was surprisingly tasty (though the sauces we got were a bit sweet for us). Food here tends to be simple. Steamed zucchini, spinach and carrots (as another Yelper pointed out- looked right out of the bag). The biggest surprise was the turkey burnt ends. Really tasty and a great option for anyone avoiding red meat. Price for bowls comparable to other similar concepts like Bolay or Vale but not as many veggie choices. I... don't know how to feel about the food. My bowl was very good looking. I think everything by itself would've been good, but in a bowl it didn't work. The turkey was tasty, but it just was missing something. The chicken has NO SEASONING. I think that really threw me off. It just felt very mediocre. My boyfriend says he liked the amount of chicken in the bowl but it had no rice really. We had both gotten the carrots that looked straight out of the bag. Very sad. The sweet potato fries looked like they had been thrown in the microwave for five minutes. Ordered catering for an office lunch for about 20 people, and pleasantly surprised. None of us had eaten here before, but we were searching for a healthier option than what we normally get. Disgusting, ordered two wraps both came out looking inedible. They both turned out to be ice cold and gross looking. The chicken in the buffalo wrap looked like it came from a freezer bag and still felt like it. Even the fries were still frozen. I stopped in here after a dive looking for something healthy and fruity. I ordered the tropical smoothie expecting real fruit. Unfortunately all of the flavors are a syrup that has a bitter sugar substitute flavor. I can appreciate that it was likely a low sugar flavoring but that combined with the chemical taste of the protein powder just fell short of satisfying. I am on vacation from New Jersey, and decided to eat here for takeout. It did not disappoint. We wanted a healthier and tasty option for food and ate here. I love how this restaurant provides low calorie, high protein meals at a good price. I ordered the Queso steak meltz with apple slices. The melt was amazing. I wasn't a big fan of the apple slices, I'd prefer to get a whole apple without the peanut butter sauce as the sauce was a little too sweet and candy-like for me. I love the idea that you can walk in any time and get some healthy meals to-go for the whole week. My friend enjoyed the salad and smoothie here too. Clean. When you call yourself "clean," being Covid-ready might be good. They have line dots on the ground, and the front staff is wearing masks. Dine-in is the problem: Tables aren't spaced or shut down for six feet. Even for take-out, the complimentary drink area should be behind the counter, not for guests to self-serve, as that's a covid contact point. Staff in back has gloves but masks not covering noses. As soon as I told them that I wasn't happy about eating inside with tables not marked as closed to achieve distancing, suddenly the gloves went on to staff. Masks were worn. The food? Not good. Portions are small to meet calorie counts. Their large bowl is Bolay's small. No white rice. Just brown. Noodles like white cardboard. Bland mushrooms that were dry. Bland beans and corn. Thai sauce? Not enough to mask the flavorlessness of it all. We tried it. Ended up eating something else. If I want Chipotlesque healthy, I'm going to Bolay. They sell healthy shakes, wraps, protein powders and stuff in bags. Its location, opposite Home Depot, tucked off the ave, may not be a big draw for nearby offices. I usually go to Clean Eatz when I'm at the Kava bar next door and their food selection is usually good because they are all clean food. All the smoothies and wraps are good but I've not tried any of the burgers yet. Service is always good but I'm giving a low two starts this last time I was there because I had a very bad stomach virus after having The Hammerhead Wrap. The Hammerhead is a Salmon wrap and I think either the fish was undercooked or they rushed making it because there was 30 mins before closing. One of my other friends had a black bean wrap the same day and had stomach issues too. I think consistency is key and I don't see that yet and I hope they can fix that so customers don't have issues from undercooked food or not properly cooked foods. Picked up some premade meals - both weekly preorder and grab and go - staff was extremely friendly. Food was all actually pretty good and enjoyed it but the portion sizes were SMALL. Never really thought of myself to be a big eater but consistently feel like I need another meal after having one lunch. My girlfriend thinks its just enough for her to feel full - but for me it doesn't cut it, especially if considering for dinner. Its good for lunch if you don't have time to cook - but don't expect to be full - which I guess explains the pricing. If portion sizes were better - I'd give probably 4-5 stars. Turns out the owner, Alex, opened up this place in March, right at the pandemic closedown and I'm happy to give him and excellent review for pushing on with it!
