Hello Jonni. It does not include electric. Electric is 8 cents per kilowatt. Please don't compare our park based on price alone but instead schedule a tour with us and we are confident you will be impressed. Call Ashley at 817-751-4055.… Read more

West Bay Marina & RV Park - LOVE THIS PLACE ON EAGLE MOUNTAIN LAKE!!!

There's a lot to be said about West Bay Marina. I spent from May-August in this park. Considering…read moreother RV parks in the area, I would say this is one of the better ones, but it does not come without many flaws. To preface, I will say I am from Ohio, and I have absolutely never been in an RV Park like this one. Texas campgrounds and RV parks just don't compare to the ones back home, but this one on a lake was as close as it could get. Regardless, Texas is still hotter than shit, and there's not much to do u less you own your own boat- the boat rentals at West Bay are outrageously unaffordable and the boats they have available to rent are not very well stocked or taken care of. The pontoon we rented twice went max 10mph so it provided no wind relief from the sun, the radio didn't work, the front chair was about to rip out of its studs, it was dirty, and the anchor didn't work worth a flying crap... which is unfortunate on a lake without a sandbar where you can't touch hardly anywhere and have to anchor so you can get out and float. The one day we couldn't even enjoy it because the wind and current were so bad we just kept drifting away from the boat on our floaties. The beach area and volleyball net leaves a lot to be desired. The sand is not taken care of in either spot, it's dirty and full of sticks and fire ant hills. My sister in law asked a few times if they could grade the sand, they said yes but never did. Oh, and the volleyball net is basically a giant litter box, because the park is overrun with stray cats. They really need to handle that issue because it'll hurt the wildlife population in the area and continue to stink up the park. My dad came down and rented the cabin for a week, $1500, and they won't even give the renter a discount on the boat after spending all that money to be on the lake. Cleaning fee was included but we had to practically clean the cabin ourselves, spider webs everywhere inside and on the porch hangout area. Leftover garbage left behind from someone else. A few roaches. Missing necessities like a lighter, coffee pot is only 5 cups... they should be able to afford a full sized coffee pot. The tv is a smart tv- no local channels. Runs off park wifi- which is an absolute joke. Don't count on it- couldn't use it in our camper (which was in row 3) or the cabin rental. Had to use our own hotspot, my dad ended up using his entire monthly allowance in 2 days at the rental just by watching tv at night. You should be able to use the tv after spending $1500 to rent the place. On the topic of absolute rip offs, when we first got to the park Wayne told us our spot was $480. Months into our stay they tried to tell me it was $715 a month but they'd knock it to $555. I said absolutely not. Funny how this comes about a few days after my neighbor asks me what we pay for our spot. Turns out they'll cut people deals but as soon as someone else finds out and complains they try to raise the price on you. They ended up raising all lot rent in the entire park which seems like entirely too much money for a spot on a lake without a sandbar in Tex-ass, the hottest place on earth. Water, sewer, electricity, laundry, and hell even wifi because the park wifi doesn't work... all an extra expense on top of your lot rent. The laundry and bath house is shut down at least once a month, not sure why. And the laundry is all new washer and dryers but they apparently run off wifi and constantly need to be rebooted and aren't working 80% of the time. The showers in the bathhouse don't drain very well so you stand in everyone's filth. Some people's camper sewerage smells so bad you can't even go outside. My brother in law in the back wouldn't even hang out at his camper his neighbors smelled so bad. And lastly, it's my understanding Wayne is a new owner trying to clean up the park, and it'll take time. But a lot of permanent residents have permanent fixtures and campers that aren't well taken care of. Some lots have dog crap and garbage everywhere. It makes the park look trashy and cluttered. I've also never been to a campground that allows golf carts- they're a nuisance and eyesore to the park and often times people do not pay attention to where they're going or what they're doing and they're literally everywhere. Ultimately, I can appreciate a park that allows campers of any age (well taken care of), and takes care of its facilities and provides some opportunity for entertainment (the lake). This could be a great spot but it isn't well executed and the staff has it out for money but leaves a lot of the park lacking. Might be the best park in the area but I was glad to get out of there and I won't be returning. Best part we're my neighbors- really friendly people.

My friend and I enjoyed walking the overlook trail, including seeing the views of the lake. The weather was sunny and breezy and we got a good workout. Eagle Mountain Park has great hiking trails along with some scenic views. One of the best features…read moreof this park is that it's pedestrian only and there are no bikes or dogs allowed. This makes for a great hiking experience. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge lover of dogs, but I love that this park is working to preserve the nature, plus some of the trails are steep and it would be heinous to make your dog venture up and down some of these more aggressive slopes. Nonetheless, I still saw two people bring their dogs out... some people simply have no regard for guidelines to protect the nature and not create an undue burden on your dog. Sigh. This is truly one of the best places in DFW if you are serious about hiking. There is a 500 feet elevation gain on the trail by the lake and this makes for great views and an easy way to get your heart rate up. There is ample parking and admission to the park is free. The only downside I would mention is the only restroom facilities are two port-o-potties and they were disgusting. One was out of toilet paper and there are no sinks to wash up. I don't know why people feel the need to make a bad situation worse by urinating all over the seat and trashing the facilities. Other than that, Eagle Mountain Park is a great choice for a semi-challenging hike site in DFW. The views are also a great reward for your efforts!
