I was super impressed with this park! There's a gate to the entrance, which is open as of right now 8-8pm(sunset). After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it! read more

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the shore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer. read more

Really enjoy this park. Used to go here often to walk around and sit beside the lake. Has a nice playground and clean, nice bathrooms. The beach area is pretty good for a texas lake, probably the best in the area. If we ever want to go to the lake, this is where we come. read more

I visited Meadowmere Park with excitement today only to be met with pure disappointment. At the cashier booth I handed her a $20 bill and she gave me $5 back. I politely told her that I gave her $20. Caren argued with me claiming she had no $20s in her drawer. I was mortified and shocked her her dishonesty. She said could not open the register, yet she had a $10 bill in her hand. If you visit be sure to have exact change. Caren is dishonest. They claim they will reach back out to me, we shall see. I am giving 1 star because the kayak rental was great. read more

This is a great park for walking or biking, which I have gotten to do a lot of due to kid soccer and softball tournaments there. The trails are nicely defined and easy to ride although there are some rougher, off-road stops. The bathrooms at the softball fields are usually nice (not sure if they lock them in the off season though. The only quirk to this park is that when the lake floods, it eats up some of the shore and fields. Just something to be aware of. It's usually well-marked with detours, but it can be abrupt sometimes. read more

Big park area (you can get to the other parks easily), and the lake is gorgeous. We came here to avoid the $5 fee of the other parks. You can walk over to other parks easily. You can even rent some water equipment nearby. It was not too packed when we were here, so noise levels were not bad. It was really nice to be near Mother Nature again. We live in Dallas, and it's always nice to escape the urban jungle every now and then. This is also a great area to have a picnic, or just laze around and sleep in the sun all day. read more

It's a decent camp ground you get a view of the lake and we had a decent patch of grass to put our tent on. Some things wrong with it was that it didn't have a grill so it was hard to cook. We also had to change spots Because the spot we where in was very small. The last con was that a man driving a water golf cart yelled at us when we were driving to our spot to get off the grass in a very rude way. read more

I'm not a fan of this park. It feels dingy and unkept. The grass is weedy and looks unhealthy. There are limited bleachers and some shady covering provided throughout, but I much rather prefer Oak Grove Park for soccer games held in Grapevine. Also, parking is terrible! Sometimes marathons or other events are hosted at this lake and when this is the case, prepare yourself, as driving becomes a nightmare! read more

This park and campground is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNSAFE. My kids went to the lake to enjoy a nice summer day and were told the left side was for camping ($35) and the right side was for play and day use ($5) spin entry that was all they were told . Once done playing in the lake they decided to go exploring, staying on the right side . They followed the lake end ended up near the entrance and happen to end up near some trailers (which weren't supposed to be on the day use side). A very aggressive white lady approached my African American son and yelled at him for trespassing on price property and then proceeded to personally contact the gate attendant. My son felt racially profiled , unsafe and accused of wrong doing when all he was doing was walking . I later called the park services and the attendant told me it was not only an UNMARKED private property but was also the care takers property ! How absolutely unprofessional and outrageous. What if my kid had lost his frisbe or had just gotten lost ?!? Bad on the park attendants as well as the caretakers . If you're gonna have a marked area for camping stick to YOUR rules or mark your area. DONT GO TO THIS LAKE WITH KIDS OR ANIMALS . NOT SAFE OR WELCOMING . read more

We went here to cook a lunch and hangout at a park. We found this park via google. We used a fire pit at one of their campsites. Ill make this easy, The good: Friendly staff, easy access, really nice view of the lake, nice fire pit rings. The bad: The campsites are in a big field and have no privacy, some have trees most don't. The lake has really low water, so the boat ramp is closed here. You can see houses of other people who live on the lake, I prefer a park that is more secluded. All and all this is a pleasant little park. read more

Beautiful park that sits right on the lake! It's fairly spread out with a lot of land and there is plenty of parking. I love coming out here especially in the summer during 4th of July to see the fireworks. If you do come out here to see the fireworks, be prepared as it gets crowded and it can be a pain to get out of the area. Occasionally they will hold different events here as well. They do have a trail/path way to do some running for a quick spin around the park. It's definitely a great place to bring family, relax and just enjoy nature. It kind of feels like a staycation of sorts! Check it out when there's some good weather (or even now when it's nice and chilly!) get outside, move your buns and get active. read more

Got a groupon to Kayak here. 10 bucks for 2 hours, so it was a pretty tight deal! So by no means am I a kayaking expert or anything closely resembling that, but I would say I had a good time here on the lake. The lake itself is actually pretty big, and you can spend a good while just enjoying the view after paddling out to the middle. The view here is actually pretty good. I wouldn't say it's breathtaking or anything, but you will definitely find it relaxing to the eyeballs. Funny story (also to help anyone who may be directionally challenged): My friend and I got lost on the way back to the dock and had to drag our kayak on land for 30 min. It sucked balls. So tip: keep track of your dock!!!!!!! So you know where you are going and whatnot and don't make the same mistake we did. Some downsides: - Kayak equipment seem a little old... but hey if you aren't an expert or anything you won't notice a thing! - View can be a little monotonous - Not enough singles - Check out the Groupon app for future deals!!! read more

We loved camping here! They first let my husband inside without paying a fee to take a look around and since there was a large camp in area with our very own fire pit with a restroom close by, we decided to camp here a few days later. You came walk to the lake or the playground close by. They also have a few rules where the lights out time is at 10pm, which since there are families camping around, people actually follow. There's two different areas. One is right by the entrance/ exit. And the other is further away and is a larger camping area. If you have family members with small children, you're better off close to the entrance since the restrooms are cleaner and it's quieter at night. I think it's closed due to the high waters by the lake which is a pity. Hopefully they open soon!! read more

My family is very dissappointed that we chose your park to spend our Fourth of July, only to be charged $8 entry for fireworks that could barely be seen. The description was very misleading and we will not return or recommend to friends and family. You should be ashamed of yourself for taking people's money for what was provided. read more

I came here for the Alzheimer's walk. It was pretty short. I'm glad I got there in time because parking was limited and some late comers ended up parking in the dirt. It was very pretty in the morning, not too chilly but a perfect temperature for a brisk walk or short run. Around 9:30, it really started to heat up (I'm not used to summer weather in fall). We walked by a few groups camping, they were nice enough to cheer us on. It was a nice experience. I'm not sure if they charge for parking (I didn't get charged but I was with a huge group) but they do have rental kayaks upon entering the park. read more
