This is my second time doing a drop off service with Clean Rite Center. First I thought I really took advantage of 65¢/lb. drop off service. It turned out too good to be true. They shoulda put a big *ss asterisk on their sign saying that the first 8 pounds would be $9, and then 65¢/lb. afterwards. Thank god I brought 25 pounds of my dirty laundry, but that still came out to 80¢/lb. after all. Clean Rite Center - 65¢/lb kicks in after 8 lbs @ $1.125/lb. - Laundromat Near Me - Woodside, New York

You can't make this up. I've used this place a dozen times, never had a problem until today. Used 2 washers right next to each other. One went the normal 23 minutes. The other kept going. That was machine #21. It took an extra 20+ minutes. How do I know? Because I put the first load in the dryer for 24 minutes, took the clothes out and was folding them when the first load ended. Actually this didn't irritate me, but when I told the employee, about 15 minutes into the extra time he told me , " another customer told him the timer was off". I didn't even mention the possibility that you might want to take the machine out of service until it's fixed, but whatever. So my second load finishes and I put it in a dryer. Stick in the prepaid card you're forced to buy for $3 and the screen reads err. Move the clothes to the next dryer put the card in, it accepts it, debits 30 cents for 8 minutes, reads I have a balance on the card of $7.00 +, which sounded about right as I had $4.00 + on it when I entered I put $10 on it and used 2 loads at $3.19 each and $1.20 total on the dryer. I approach the employee and he says sometimes the cards get dirty, try rubbing it on your shirt,, and the machines are sensitive. I see another guy behind the counter, who either owns the place or likes to act like he does. I ask him if I can get a new card, answer yes if I buy it for $3. I said I have an old card, a couple of weeks ago I had left my card at home and since the machines only take cards I was forced into buying a second card. My fault so I wasn't irritated about that, could the money be transferred onto it. He then puts the card where I can't see it and says I bought the card somewhere else. Which of course is impossible. This place is the only laundry I ever used that doesn't take quarters. He then said he would give me a $7 credit eventhough his machine says it only has 3 cents on it. Of course I can only get the credit if I buy another card for $3. At this point I said give me my card back. He handed me a bent card which I don't know if it's my original card or not. I took my remaining damp clothes out of the dryer, I'll spend a couple quarters elsewhere to finish the job. This experience was completely insane. Use this place at your own risk. Most of the employees I have encountered there have been nice and usually the place is clean and the machines are constantly wiped and the floor is swept. Why is there no A/C on a 90 degree day? I would give this place 5 stars any other day but this is the second week in a row I've had to do laundry in disgusting conditions. The service tenant had no idea either and got upset with me for asking about the conditions of the A/C. Come on Clean Rite. I've been a frequent user of their drop off services but after today (12/21 - drop off receipt included) they've lost a loyal customer. First off, they didn't bother to separate the whites from the blacks so all of my whites are stained which is $300+ worth of clothing. Lastly, I dropped off that (1) laundry bag on 12/19 and I was told pick up would be ready earlier this morning but it still wasn't so I just took everything unfolded. Normally a five star establishment. I use the drop off service regularly, and it is very good. Attentive staff, and the laundry comes packaged neatly. As of late, their computer system has been on the fritz, and it makes drop off and pick up very time consuming. The line screeches to a halt. I'll add two stars back when the computer system gets fixed. Update: over a year later, and the computer still adds a lot of time to each transaction. Takes me a minimum of 6 minutes to pick up my laundry and dry cleaning -- sometimes much longer. They have to run credit cards twice: once for wash and fold, and again for dry cleaning. Clean-Rite's presence in the neighborhood has been a huge life upgrade for me. The wash and fold service is cheap, fast, and excellent. Clothes have been folded and sorted in an orderly fashion, and are divided by type into individual plastic bags. The clothes come back very clean and smelling great-- optional premium services, including a mid-tier option with Oxy-Clean, bestow yet further improvements on an already great experience. Service is polite and courteous, and the phone call you get when your clothes are done is greatly appreciated. The dry cleaning is also fast, organized, and very inexpensive. You can, like with the wash and fold, anticipate a phone call when your order is done, and to the best of my knowledge I've never had an item lost after using their dry cleaning many, many times. At this point I have no suggestions for improvements. Keep up the great work! read more

The manager Chris (as he states his name to be when I asked for his name) for this location is horrible. During my visit on July 13, 2022 between 8:30am - 10:00 am, I realized the machine I was using did not dispense water in the 2nd compartment resulting in not allowing the adequate amount of water need for the machine to effectively wash my clothing, throughout all cycles of the entire washing process. Machine 40 did not have an out of order sign on it, prior to using it. I brought this to the manager, Chris attention. His response was not only dishonest but dishonorable, ingenuine, and a down-right disservice to the customer. Chris responded to my concern was, " The machine is functioning properly. When you wash clothes on permanent press cold the machine only dispenses water in the 1st compartment. " I have been washing clothes at this location since the end of June 2021. I always use the permanent cold wash cycle simply because the machines do not have the option for normal nor heavy wash cycle with cold water (my preference). I have been washing clothes for 30 years of my life at a laundromat. I have used clean rite laundromats in the Brooklyn and Jamaica Queens areas. Who does this man think he is talking to? Apparently, by this behavior it is evident in his perspective, that I have no clue about washing clothes at a laundromat. This is a huge disgrace to your company, especially coming from a manager. I must include Chris states he did the machine report before I came in and all the machines are working just fine. Another lie, washer machines 14, 17, & 24 had out of order signs on them. Which makes this claim a blatant lie. In addition, machine 40 was tremendously shaking, manager Chris states exact words, "the machine needs new bearings". This machine should be labeled with the out of order sign on it. Of course, it does not have the out of order sign on it. My reason for stating this is in the favor of the company as well as the customer. In this state, the machine could cause more damage, to the machine with continual usage. Every time a new customer uses the machine, the damage to the machine increases. Many other issues can transpire causing delays in the store closing. Last week Thursday night, machine 40 or machine 41had water overflowing from the machine onto the floor, during the last hour of store operating hours. The poor attended just mopped the floors and had to use more than 2 good sized towels to soak up the water. Horrible situation. Now if the machines are reported accurately for maintenance, there is a possibility this situation could have been avoided. Let us not forget dryer 37 door does not stay closed while drying clothes nor when it is not in use. I noticed this during my visit last week Thursday night, as well. It is now the morning of July 13,2022 the following week, this is still the case in reference to dryer 37. There is not an out of order sign on this dryer. It is very clear this dryer cannot completely dry anyone clothes, if the door does not stay closed when it is not in use, nor when it is in use. I would like to add, dryer 39 was not labelled with an out of order sign. I used this dryer to dry my clothes for 32 minutes. After 32 minutes, my clothes were as wet as when I first placed my clothes in the dryer, after washing my clothes in the washer machine at this location. Let us remember, I was I told by manager Chris, the report was done (exact words out of his mouth). Let's circle back to the machine I used earlier, which was washer machine 42. I also brought manager Chris over to see that the water amount is extremely low during the rinse cycle. I could not see the level of the water through the window of the door, on the washer machine because the machine was sprinkling water due to the fact the water was only dispensing water through the first compartment. Water did not dispense through compartment 2 at any point of this wash cycle. I saw with my eyes the water sprinkling in the machine during the rinse cycle. This washer machine was only halfway filled with my clothing, making this view was very easy for anyone to see. The manager Chris states, "according to Clean Rite policy he cannot give me credit because the machine is functioning properly". This is clearly a not true. I asked the manager Chris, if I could transfer my clothes to a different machine, so my clothes could go through the wash cycles properly to appropriately have clean clothes. The manager Chris states, he could not do that and there is nothing he could do for me. He did offer me to spend more money on a different machine. I took him up on that offer. I asked may you show me a machine that you know is working properly, so I can avoid losing my money the second time around. I did see there were small laundry orders that were completed behind the counter. The manager Chris response was, I only use the 80lb washer. How is this helpful? Unprofessional & shameful behavior. My review is Zero star. I had to give one to bypass. This is my first time dropping off clothes and they messed up big time. When I picked up the clothes and brought it home, I see that my clothes were damaged. I have white tahari bed sheets pillow cover, my wife's tops, pajamas and shorts they were all discolored with pink and green. When I called the laundry the girl asked me if I had any clothes that are green or pink, I answered yes...her respond was there you go, your clothes bleeded. I was shocked to hear her answer. I have been dropping off clothes to many laundry never experienced something like this. It's the laundromat responsibility to wash my clothes properly. We r not getting it done FREE...we are paying for the service. Instead of me doing it on my own, I gave them the work to do it. She wanted to hang up the phone and I asked for manager. She gave me managers name and told me to call back. Next day I went there and spoke to the manager, she also didn't care much to what happened to my clothes. By now I felt that I have made a BIG mistake dropping off my clothes here. Manager Sheila only can give me $20 credit for laundry lol no way...she told me to file a claim with very discouraging voice and gave me an example of another clients laundry was damaged and it's been 2 months for the claim nothing happened. Now I have paid them for the service and I am stuck with damaged clothes. It's unfortunate that nothing can be done and this place will getaway doing things like this. I really miss the old laundry that used to be here before! This place do not deserve my business and I won't go there anymore. At least I won't drop off my laundry anymore. Me and my family always come here at night time and David works here mostly at night time and he's great! Last time we came here, the claw machine took my money and I told him and he gave me his $1.00 to play and he didn't have to do that. There was another guy here that pretty much told me that happens sometimes and brushed it off but David is always nice to everybody he comes across and tries to help anybody that needs anything from him. 5 stars for David he's awesome. read more

This drycleaner has been a total gift to me. It's so affordable ($3/item except dresses & coats) and I've been pleased with the cleaning of my clothes. I totally understand about other reviewers comments of bad service. I have certainly suffered through long waits and grumpiness. But I figured out the trick! Go in the mornings. There is a woman named Sheila working. She's got long blonde hair and I think she's a manager. She's really quick and very kind. She hasn't been there very long, but I hope they keep her! This laundromat is great in terms of being able to dry your clothes for free from Tuesday-Thursday, plenty of washers, plenty of dryers, and the laundromat is very spacious, not cramped like every other laundromat. However, the washer and dryer machines are old, not up to par, and outdated. The washer & dryer machines do hold a lot of clothes, yet they continuously have technical issues which is why they need to be updated!! Last time I was here which was two weeks ago, it ended up being a challenging laundry experience for me. Thankfully, David (gentleman who works there) assisted me in every technical issue I was having with both the washers and dryers, and provided outstanding customer service. I am beyond pleased with their customer service. The facility itself is always clean and with so many washers and dryers, there's hardly ever a time you'd have to wait. As fairly recent transplants to Sunnyside, we were looking for a reliable laundry service for wash and fold service. My fiancée and I are busy working professionals, both working in Manhattan, so although our building has laundry we rarely have time to do it ourselves. I've always been slightly wary of laundry services (and am very Type A about my laundry being done just-so), so our experience at Clean Rite was a pleasant surprise! Not only do they use on-brand products (Tide, Downy, Clorox, etc...), they have same-day service and the staff is very professional and friendly. They even make a courtesy call to let you know your order is ready! Everything came back perfectly folded, organized by color group, and smelling just like I had washed it myself, only better! I have lived in the area for about a year and a half now and have exclusively used this laundromat, primarily it's drop-off services. Up until recently, I had no issues. HOWEVER, I went to pick up one of my laundry bags and I was first informed by the laundry assistant that they could not find the bag. She said the status had not been updated in their computer, so she had no idea where it was at the moment, but that she would make a note of it in the system and call me once they had it. I was frustrated, but I said okay, I'll come back later. A few days later, I received no call, so I called. A different staff person picked up and told me that the bag had already been picked up. When I told her that wasn't true, she said it was in the system as having been picked up on a day that was BEFORE the day I went in person to pick up the bag. This directly contradicted what the first laundry assistant told me. The laundry assistant on the phone cut me off and was quite rude, insisting it had already been picked up like I wouldn't notice that I'm missing a whole bag of laundry. I decided to go in person and I believe I met the same woman on the phone. Again, she was rude and very unhelpful. I noticed that their drop-off services have become more popular. It is clear to me that a staff person had not properly entered the order into the system, and so when I went to pick it up, someone realized and must have changed the details to say it had already been picked up. I had made the mistake of paying for the services upfront (in order to take advantage of the discount) so I lost money not only for my clothes, but the cost for the services. I don't even care about a refund, as some items were invaluable to me. Because of this experience, I do not trust this laundromat with my clothes and will not be returning. read more

Most machine are not functioning. Two of the dryers I used were cold, none of the clothes dried. Bras hooks got damaged. Stuffed animals furs got ruined and throw pillows lost original color. I went to pick up my clothes for work and the service was horrible. At first my cloths were mixed up with other customers and told her that it was not mine. It took 15 minutes to get my clothes. When I went to pay which they only have two ways to pay one is to use there in store card used on there machine or a credit card . When I went to use my credit card she told me I could not and told me I had to use the in store card. I said to her that I need to use my card because that's how I record all my transactions for dry cleaning for tax purposes. she got angry because I did not understand. I've been using this laundromat since moving back into the neighborhood. I appreciate the value of it and that it's quicker than doing laundry in my building. Usually I have no issues I'm in and out since it's too warm and busy to fold so I just gently toss things in my bags and fold at home plus I have 2 toddlers so staying longer is just not ideal. We went later than our usual time and it was busier than usual and all the tables were busy minus 2 by the front which I went over to so I could get things in my bags and go. One of my kids was crying and I was trying to juggle it all. The attendant there rudely yelled at me that those tables were for employees only and I had to move elsewhere. No consideration to tell me finish quickly and note it for next time. So picture me now trying to haul a toddler, the basket, my cart and the stroller YET again to the other side of the store where there only 1 table open but it was too close to the massage chairs they had over there. I was very upset about the whole thing. I have never seen this attendant but he definitely needs to learn how to treat people w respect and to cut someone a little slack. This is the new laundry spot! I have been dropping off the laundry here a few weeks and it has been great service every time! Shiela is the bomb. She is very kind, and does a great job on the laundry. She is friendly and always has a conversation with me which makes you want to keep coming here. The clothes are nicely sorted and folded. They go from bag to drawers which has not always been the case with other places. The bags smell great when i get home. With 2 kids work and school its nice to have help from someone like Sheila with the laundry. I highly recommend them. And the drop off actually has it for you same day not like other places. Great place! By the way i live in bushwick but i work in woodside and i lug my laundry to woodside just because it it that great! read more

I decided to give this place a try since it looks bright and clean from the outside. However, once you go in, you realize it's not all that clean. The floor had some litter and could use a sweep. The washers looked fine but a lot of the dryers looked charred and have gum in them. I was expecting it to be cleaner since it hasn't been too long since this place opened compared to others in the area. The prices are reasonable but still more costly than the one in my building. Its only perks are 24hrs, a parking lot, free dry Monday to Thursday, and free soap for each wash (however, I still had to add my own detergent because it wasn't soapy enough). read more
