They promptly messaged me back and I scheduled an estimator to come look at our house for the next week. Communication was good, through Yelp messages and also after I gave them my number, they texted me updates. The estimator came and we received the quote the next day through email. We were happy with it so our appointment was for the following week. The workers came and got the job done in about an hour. We received the invoice through email and I paid by sending in a check to avoid the credit card fee to the credit card company. It would've been a $22 fee. It might not sound like a lot, but I avoid unnecessary fees if I can. I have been helping my parents with their home, and noticed that the solar water panels on the home…read moreseemed to be leaking. We decided to contact several companies for a quote. Sean from Island Solar Service contacted me the same day, actually within an hour of me entering my information on their website. He was able to visit my parent's house the next day and provided me with a quote. We decided to replace the whole system, the panels and the water heater, since it was old. We were able to schedule the installation pretty quickly especially with a lot of homeowners trying to get their systems installed by the end of the year. Prior to the installation, Sean informed my mom of what needed to be done to prep the area for the install. Basically clean the area surrounding the existing water heater and the space needed. He called a week prior to confirm the install and to start the permit process. The team of installers arrived early that morning (7:30 AM) and was done by 1:00PM. They did a terriffic job. Through out the job they informed us as to what they were doing and were very professional. Once completed they went through the system to provide us with information and how everything worked as well as who to call if anything comes up. Overall GREAT service and value. Very painless process. I'd recommend Island Solar Service to family and friends.

The company who generated the photovoltaic solar energy system that was installed by another on island company on the home I purchased filed bankruptcy in Aug 2024! This left me with finding someone to come out and assess why my PV panels were not generating electricity and sending the energy to be used by my home or to be stored in our Tesla power walls. When I reached out I explained that the company who installed the system on our home told me via monitoring that I had micro-inverters that needed to be replaced. When PV Hawaii techs came to our home for a 'troubleshoot visit' they were unable to gain access to my PV panel inverter - which is from the company that filed bankruptcy! They pretty much told me the only thing they could do was gain assistance from the company who initially installed the PV solar energy system on our home, which mind you, already gave me a quote to restring our PV panels to a whole new inverter and then connect that to our Tesla power walls which would be thousands of dollars!! So, you're telling me that this company, PV Hawaii needs to reach out to a whole separate PV company to get this type of repair/work done!? They charged me $299 for pretty much coming out to my house and doing absolutely NOTHING. When I asked for a quote for them to restring my microinverters to a new inverter I was told via email that they were working on the quote. . . . I NEVER received a quote! Overall, if you own a business and find that you are unable to do specific type of work just let the customer know. Don't charge for services if those services cannot be done. And don't lie and say you're getting a quote together and then never provide a quote and ghost the customer! Stay far away from PV Hawaii and take your hard earned money to another business to meet your solar needs!!!!!

He apologized for the service I received and lack of urgency with the scheduling technician in the office. He explained his position and his own frustrations in the business which I do understand since I come from the service industry. The defective part was ordered and once received, he personally came out to install and get my system up and running. He was patient and answered all my questions. My advice is, don't give up. Email is best so you have a paper trail of your efforts in case you need to pursue other avenues to get issues resolved. Thank you to PV Hawaii for doing the right thing.
