Lots of stores and restaurants and free 2 hour parking. I usually walk here from next door so I couldn't say too much more about the parking situation - except that all of Tahoe you now have to pay - so be careful with enforcement. Tahoe is growing. The popularity is ever growing and people from California on a weekend getaway seem to be funding it. More stores and construction - you wouldn't recognize this whole area if you last came 15 years ago. Target seems to be an obsession for some people. I hear about 'those Target runs' I really don't know what that means but usually stay at home moms obsess with this place and go often. I don't have that same zest and enthusiasm for Target but everybody has something that tickles their feather. Or is it tickle your fancy? I'm not sure. Anyway - this is me telling you that Target is open for business to tickle your whatnot. Knock yourself out. I'll be at the casino next door.

My wife visited the women's clothing shop on the ground floor next to the entrance. She was in and out of there in 5 minutes. A new personal speed record for her. I used the difficult to find restroom on the 2nd floor. It was clean enough. Jake's on the Lake restaurant must be the only reason that this "mall" still exists.

The Boatworks Mall is an indoor, enclosed mall right on the shore of Lake Tahoe. But it's not a massive mall like the ones you'd find in a major city. The place has a lot of character and rustic-ness going for it. There is a restaurant, a coffee/chocolate shop, a book store, a wine shop, clothing and shoe store, a home decor, furniture store, a game store - and more. While I was here, I perused the book store and Hemmings & Jarrett where I purchased and shipped home a Christmas decoration. The mall has an elevator and stairs - so folks in wheelchairs can get up and down.

Most of the restaurants and some stores are reopened already. But some of the stores still closed due to the COVID-19. The location of the Cobblestone Center is the best in Tahoe City. It is right in the middle of everything. The lake just right across the street. The area is so beautiful and very clean. Many visitors at the shopping mall and the restaurants next to the street. Many parking spaces available inside the Cobblestone Center and street parking is also available. I am very enjoyed our visit to the Cobblestone Center even not all the stores are open. I will definitely come back next time when I am in Tahoe City again!

I walked through it all, most I assume to be a hefty collection of rented "booths" and maybe some consignment. I'll need to come back again, as each antique store visit is just one layer of the onion. The antique wares were well organized throughout, although with differences in display density. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the store, both from staff and all the curious folks like me taking it all in. The husband of a friend used to be an antique dealer and he often talked about collection cycles and people age out and their treasures move on. I thought of that as I perused and sometimes admired an impressive collection of "stuff" that were previously special to their previous owners, and would someday be again.

An exit was blocked to the parking lot to get into the next few shops right behind so we were going to give up on park there (half the lot or more was empty so shouldn't hurt anyone, you'd think). But this lady in an SUV pulling up started complaining that we can't park there, scolding us. I tried asking why they have the exit right there blocked (which would make it easy to get between the two parking lots) and she repeated herself. I tried again (nicely) an she ignored me. We ended up giving up and just going to get some food and came back to try the pirate shop again, and low and behold, who is the lady behind the counter? The rude one from the SUV outside earlier. We then turned around and left. No reason to support them if they are mean and scolding to customers and show up to work whenever the heck they feel like it. If you want customers, those customers need to be able to feel confident in their attempts to visit. All around bad vibe, sadly. Too bad as a store themed around pirates was more than intriguing. But money better spent elsewhere.
