I wanted to stop in cause I saw as I was browsing the internet, that Costco has changed up the bagel selection. They sell them in bags of 8 now, instead of requiring you like before to buy two bags of six for a dozen bagels. The new price is basically $5.00 for 8, so I guess the price per bagel has gone up, but what hasn't. HERE IS THE BIG NEWS! THE BAGELS ARE NOW WATER BOILED! I saw the big sign on the wall, "water boiled". What that means is they're more like real bagels like you would find in an actual bagel shop, a more dense and chewy bagel, yeah like New York, I guess, even though I've never been. The previous bagels were basically fluffy beard donuts! Costco ended their association with Einstein's bagels (the bread donut ones) and now makes their own using water boiling before baking at each store. I tried them and, whoa, what a difference, it way better. Maybe not totally as good as an actual bagel shop, but way better than what they had before. I used to avoid Costco bagels, but not any more. Me and my crew are about to leave Carson and head up over Spooner Summit on the 50 and I say, how bout a Costco stop, since it's right here just near our turn up the 50. I have an executive membership that can get us in at 9am and the food court is all ready to go at that time. Hot dogs for the road with a soda too even! They all go hell, yeah! So we pull in and it's just before opening at 9 am. Plenty of parking, not like those big city Costco's at opening. We go in and I have my membership card scanned and head straight to the food court. I go up to the little kiosk thingy and tap in 5 hot dogs and sodas ... $7.50 the feed the whole crew! plus a little tax of course. The staff whips those out in no time and we fill our sodas. I like they switched back to coke products, I like them better than Pepsi products. Over at the condiments, we all squeeze out the mustard, relish and catsup on our dogs and sit at the open tables. These are a little messy to eat, so better make a mess at tables, than inside the Suburban! This was a nice tasty treat in the morning to keep everybody happy till we get to Sacramento. T-Mobile inside Costco I don't usually write reviews for phone services , but this experience truly deserves recognition. This past Monday, January 5th, I was rushing into Costco close to closing time to grab a few necessities when I realized my phone was at 3% battery. Since my Costco membership and credit card are stored in my phone, if my phone had died I wouldn't have been able to get in or check out, which would have completely delayed my shopping and caused even more stress. I stopped by the T-Mobile counter and asked the young man working there, Tyler, if he happened to have a charger I could use. Without hesitation, he said yes and immediately helped me. When I asked if I could leave my phone charging with him while I ran to shop before Costco closed, he smiled and said, "Of course, I'll be here and I'll keep an eye on your phone for you." That level of kindness, trust, and customer service meant more than he probably realized in that moment. He didn't have to do that, but he did; happily and genuinely. Employees like Tyler are exactly the kind of people companies should hold onto. His attitude reflects incredibly well on T-Mobile, and he turned a stressful situation into a positive experience I won't forget. Whenever I am heading to South Reno and have a few extra minutes , I take a drive to Costco in Carson city. Gasoline is 40-50 cents less per gallon than Reno. The parking lot is more spacious and generally less crowded. The staff is very friendly! read more

This Costco is my regular stop for groceries and sometimes gas. Since I've been avoiding eating out this January, this is a perfect time to write a review! I've never had any issues at this Costco. I shop here 1-3 times per month and I have always been satisfied with the selection and the service. The lines are usually decently short. I have gotten tires here once and the prices were fair and service was quick and easy in the tire center. Gas prices are always the best in Carson. However, there is only 87 and 91. No mid grade. I would say I do 90% of my regular grocery shopping at this Costco. There is a great selection of organic products and healthy foods plus classic Kirkland branded options. I am happy to recommend this Costco to anyone in the quad county area who doesn't want to make their way to Reno. read more

Okay, time for an update. I prefer this Costco over the Reno one. It has the same items as Reno Costco + more. Also, they seem to have additional sales...? Lastly, gas is up to $1 a gallon cheaper! And I have been spending more and more time in Carson City (and Tahoe). So I did not have to make special trips. Quality/Quantity - Gas up to $1 cheaper per gallon than Reno. Sometimes they have different products and sales than the Reno location. And sometimes they have amazing sales on clothes, none of which I need, but can't help myself from buying due to the extremely low sales price. Atmosphere - Very consistent. Service - Very consistent. Costco has improved greatly on speed of service in all their locations. Their gas station also have some of the shortest lines, thank you. Price - I don't check. Well accept the gas prices, just to compare to Reno or CA. Oh, and lower sales tax; it just keeps getting better! Certain businesses I just don't check the price as they are usually low price leaders such as Costco, Walmart, etc. Owner Suggestion - Keep up the good work. I love this Costco! Out of Reno, sparks and Carson costcos this one is my favorite. First of all, I seem to find the most interesting items here. I don't know if it's just a coincidence and I don't know if all the Carson's carry the same things, but I always get my best finds at this Costco. Staff has been friendly every time we come in. I rarely order concessions at Costco. It's not because the food isn't good, I have had their pizzas before but they're rude at this Costco. I accidentally ordered three pieces of pepperoni and three pieces of cheese thinking I was getting basically a half a pizza and instead it turned out that I ordered wrong I should have gotten a whole pizza called a half and half. And my Sundays then needed to be made later so they would be cold and each time I was waited on rude.. rude.. rude!! We had to get gas, so decided to do that first. Prices were definitely waaay cheaper than around where we were staying. It was only $4 something for premium. It was running $5 something, maybe even low $6s when I was looking at gas prices while we were driving. Once inside, we just grabbed alcohol and some pepcid. (The hubs gets the Asian glow.) Two bottles of Costco bubbles and one of the Costco Scotch 12s. I did see the Gold Bar Whiskey Joe Montana Edition California: 750ml ($46.99). Was tempted, but decided I'd just stick to to giant Costco scotch whisky. Total for everything with tax was $89.91. I believe this is the closest Costco to South Lake Tahoe. I am increasingly disappointed in my shopping experience at my local Costco. This past week I have searched for canned fruit and there was none. Candy of all sorts are not from US producers anymore. Pasta and rice seem to be packaged in China. Two aisles of chips and one aisle was all Asian food types. Sorry I don't like seaweed chips.China influence in all signature products has been overwhelming to me. I can't wait until we start producing in the USA to obliterate the Chinese influence taking over. In the mean time I am shopping elsewhere like the Chefs Store. The last 2 times I was in Costco for my prescription I could find nothing I wanted to buy. As an executive member this is not good. read more

September 20, 2024 I ordered 77" OLES LG, wall mount, installation and extended warranty. Installation was handled by hands.com which is part of Angi. Installer showed up 5 hours late. Installer, seemed inexperienced which showed by him trying to drill while holding the metal wall mount against the wall, instead of taping the template to the wall. While drilling, the mount slid. I helped him hold it, but he still misaligned the holes, causing him to drill multiple holes in three locations. Only the first hole didn't have to be redrilled. A contractor came out and found the installer cracked the wall stud and said, the TV was at risk of coming off the wall due to the enlarged holes. Angi / Handi.com have done nothing but drag their feet with resolving this issue. Contractor gave a quote of $1517 in repairs, which included adding supports to the cracked wall studs, drywall and paint repairs, plus installing the TV properly. Angi only wants to pay $717, which only covers cosmetic repairs and does nothing for repairing the cracked studs and/or enlarged holes in the studs, plus they aren't installing the TV, which was already paid for. Don't use Costco, hands.com or Angi services. You will get some of the worse services ever. Pay a bit more and find your own installers. Now for almost three weeks, TV is sitting on top of a folding table, blocking our fireplace. read more

Employees are RUDE. Every single time, despite keeping my head down and being polite, I have an employee rudely remark I'm doing something wrong. Standing in the wrong spot, walking to the food court the wrong way, can't go in through the entrance of i'm going to the service desk, can't go in through the exit if i'm going to the service desk. They are rude JUST to be rude. Absolutely the most disgustingly miserable people on earth work where. There have been times where I just don't bother going in because I know I will be yelled at for SOMETHING. Stood at the food court for forever and then the food court worker was very passive aggressive for honestly no reason. As well as when walking out the store I had accidentally thrown away the receipt which then rolled into a whole ordeal. We had to go across the whole store to go get a reprinted receipt. Took a couple minutes just for that, then they proceeded to announce to the whole store what we were leaving with even tho they reprinted the receipt. read more

Seriously, people, what's not to like? I've never visited a Costco that was so empty - especially the day before Thanksgiving. There is plenty of parking, no fighting over spots, and you can actually stroll the aisles at a leisurely space, without worrying about someone behind you or to your side getting impatient. The cashiers were friendly and helpful, as were the employees offering samples and stocking the aisles. I seriously, seriously don't understand how this Costco is rated less than 5 stars. I've only been to the Costco in Carson City a couple times. Everybody was friendly, the prices for sporting goods seem to be cheaper than Reno, however the prices for food items seem to be higher? It's kind of strange. Not all the Cosco's are created equal apparently. But it was a pleasant shopping experience. If in the area, we will definitely come back. It would be nice to try a couple of the gift cards here for restaurants in the Carson City area. read more

Don't bother buying tires here unless you enjoy waiting around forever. Had purchased mine here and got a screw in my tire. After driving across town to get it checked out, waiting in line for 10 minutes, I was told the wait to have it looked at would be well over an hour. So I just wasted my time. And have to go pay someone to repair it even though it should be under warranty. The guy was nice but another annoying thing. You have to park and then walk all the way around to get to the tire center. read more

This is a much better than average Costco. We go here every time we are in Tahoe. Great place to stock up on staple items or get a tri-tip to BBQ. The selection here is excellent...it's a pretty good size Costco. They have 6 self service, checkouts, although three of them were not working when we were there. The people here are friendly and helpful. The food court works pretty well although they probably need a little more staff, but doesn't everybody these days? I'm really disappointed with this Costco. The bathrooms are disgusting, even my 5 year old pointed out how dirty it was. The food court doesn't have nearly enough seating. While I was waiting for a member to clean up her table, another customer walked in and took it. I hate confrontation, so I didn't say anything. My family ended up sitting outside. When I tried reentering through the exit just to refill my drink--since it would've been easier than walking all the way around--they stopped me and said I had to go around. I didn't even bother. I feel like they should use better discretion in situations like this. They also don't carry basic items like chicken bouillon powder. The overall environment feels unwelcoming, and many of the employees seem unhappy to be there. I'm not from the area and only stopped in to pick up a few things before heading to Lake Tahoe, but I genuinely wish I hadn't stepped foot in this building. read more

Pharmacy staff is mostly super quick and great customer service... but whomever is ordering drugs needs help. Can't fill simple cardio & statin rx. The rest of the staff is great. In 5 years I have taken this to Costco corporate twice, who also admitted this location is dropping the ball. I realize back orders happen, yet this is for multiple people in multiple households of all sorts of standard medications. Switched to Costco Reno with no problems.
