The clean, VERY WELL maintained cabin included a warming fireplace, crispy clean bedding, all required utensils and virtually instant hot water in the shower and kitchen. The grounds provided space for casual walks (escorted by hummingbirds and chipmunks). Fishing was good and the lake scenic thanks in great part to limited development. As important as anything, Loon Point's owner/operators were not only visible, but helpful as well. Loon Point provides lots of lessons for owner/operators of "Mom and Pop" destinations who believe they'll stay in business by doing the "same old thing." It's just not gonna happen.

Over the 25 years we have been coming up here, the property continues to be updated but always retains the same feeling it gave me when I was 15. I must admit we were all quite impressed. The cabins are very clean and most are right on the water giving a great view of the lake, with nice decks and good shade. We also noticed how crystal clear the water is, making it great for kids and adults to play. While we did not do any fishing, we did check out the fish cleaning house which appears to very adequate.
