I can't speak for the doctor as I have never seen him. I was referred to him by my doctor. Unfortunately he was booked and they asked if I would like to see the PA Jennifer. I said sure. Big mistake! She was dismissive and short. Not the least bit helpful. I don't have just some minor thing like acne. I have a major health concern that is limiting my quality of life. I called my doc to tell that what happened and surprise surprise someone else called that day complaining about Jennifer's lack of treatment and lack of care. I will not be back to see Jennifer. I may be back to see Dr J though because my doctor gives him a very high recommendation. read more

I'm sorry I can't give them ZERO stars. Here, folks, is the difference between shitty service and excellent service. First, a small backstory: I have a history of breast cancer. Chemo. Radiation. The whole horrible 9 yards. So, when I recently discovered a very scary skin growth in that same (now partial) breast, you better believe I'm very concerned. So, I call this office. Shitty service: The receptionist asks if I've been there before. I say no, but my husband has and likes Dr. J. She tells me doctor can't see new patients until mid-October. Now, I'm not an unreasonable person and do understand that. So, I politely ask, "May I explain my situation?" Long pause. "Sure." I tell her my concern, hoping she'd try to squeeze me in somewhere or maybe say hey I'll talk to nurse or doctor to check or I'll put you on a cancellation list or ANYTHING other than the cold, "There are only two physicians here and one is going to soon be out. Sorry." I say "ok, thanks..." and hang up. Literally, crying at my desk at work. Even a small drop of empathy would have helped. I then muster up and pull my big girl pants back on and call Dr. Sharon Horton's office. Excellent service: I'm a new patient. She's the sole physician there. Uh-oh. I explain my situation to the receptionist there. She says "You are a new patient. Let me see. I'm sorry, we can't do it today, but can get you in tomorrow. Will that work?" YES. Yes, that works. Her disposition was excellent and I feel much better. Doctors: I hope you read this. Again, I get it. You have a million patients and only so much time and patience for scared-to-death patients. But, come on. Can you work on a process with your appointment takers that at least exudes a small drop of giving a crap? Maybe a cancellation back-up plan for clear emergencies? Maybe you know this isn't an emergency. I'm not going to die tomorrow for this scary af looking growth. But, you know what, I'm scared. And you made it no better. So, Dr. Horton it is. And I'm never calling this place again. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered during any type of medical visit.. I was treated like I had some type of disease. I came in because my face was irritated and itching from a product that I used. Jennifer's bedside manner was horrible. I am an African American woman and she is clearly not accustomed to dealing with a diverse community. I asked about other concerns with my skin and she clearLu brushed me off saying we have another office but it's far away. I said how far !she said 45 minutes. She even told me if what she prescribed didn't work, don't come back in just call and she would prescribe something else. During my search for a Dermatologist in the Oak Park and Forest Park area where I have resided all my life, I had many choices and aI choice you, I just wish you would have choice me as a valued patient. read more

Very poor experience during an appointment with one of the new physicians who purchased the practice from Dr. Schultz. Was given the bums rush by the physician who was not attentive to my concerns and found the whole experience to be unprofessional. Do not recommend. read more

Disappointed. I made an appointment for laser hair removal on my bikini. Cost was $299 for the session (10 minutes of time for the procedure total). I thought it was pricey but because it was a PA doing it, I thought it would be worth the cost. I was told by the PA that the facility is expensive and hair removal can be done for less money at other places. Realizing that it was a mistake to have chosen this place based on cost alone, I wanted to just leave. However, I was then told there would be a $79-$99 consulting fee for the 5 minutes of time that she took to talk to me about this. This fee would be put toward the cost of the hair removal. So I could have left, been charged $79-99, and gone somewhere else. I stayed and essentially wasted my money. It would have been nice if I had been told of the consulting fee when I made the appointment. read more

I would highly recommend Clear Skin Dermatology, I have been coming here to see Dr. Shultz and Dr.Jazayerli for years. The staff is very friendly and seem to be happy all the time. What I love about Clear Skin Dermatology is that I am never stuck in a waiting room long, Appointments are always on time no waiting period like other clinics. Excellent doctor, shitty staff. Met a much better female doctor and now my burn marks are going away- she said the cream he prescribed me was too weak to really address the redness & healing. I needed a steroid topical low % cream AND GUESS WHAT IN JUST TWO DAYS I SAW THE DIFFERENCE! My red spots were more faded into my natural skin tone & it keeps working Til they completely fade away. read more

I was appalled at the lack of professionalism at this office. The "doctor" (I use that term loosely) walked in while I was half-way through changing my clothes and leered at me up and down and then winked at me - gross! It made me feel so small and marginalized. He then had the audacity to drop several sexist and even racist comments while he was in the middle of treating me! If you are a woman, avoid this office and doctor like the plague! I will never go back and will tell everyone else what I experienced here. read more

Really like this practice. Over 10 years ago a coworker recommended and every time I've had reason to need a dermatologist I've gone here. Every staff has been nice and caring. Saw Jennifer most recently and she has a lovely demeanor. I highly recommend Clear Skin Dermatology! read more

I think I'll always make my future appointments w Dr. J, because he's the real deal. He obviously is a very brilliant man, and is attentive and gentle. Back in 2007 I had a biopsy done and he was very patient with me because I was freaked out about the procedure and subsequent stitching of the area (ugh). At the same time, he lasered off a broken blood vessel; that hurt like hell but again, the doctor was patient as I pleaded and squirmed (although this was an elective procedure, what can I say, a little pain and I turn into a buffoon). I actually ran into him @ Panera a couple days later and he came over to take a look at the site of the blood vessel. Although the price tag was steep, it never returned and I am extremely happy with my results. I had another appointment there today and I wasn't thrilled with Jennifer. She was nice and very professional, but seemed to just want to rush out of there and didn't address the things I had mentioned during intake, until I brought them up when she tried to scurry out the door. I believe customer service is a big part of their field as well, and if they want people to return, she should at least act concerned for the 15 minutes I paid a $40 copay for. Bonus: samples galore, although they say "please take only 1", I took that as only one of each..scored some Dove body wash, deodorant, All laundry detergent and Neutrogena hand cream. They also had Cetaphil but I didn't feel the need to go overboard. Basically, stick w Dr. J, and stock up while waiting. read more

I would not recommend seeing Jennifer. I started getting cystic acne on my chin which was a big concern for me as I've never had acne this bad, even in my teens. She offered no suggestions or help. I actually asked her "do you have any suggestions for me?" She was very dismissive and seemed to hate her job. I left feeling worse and more confused about my acne then when j had come in. I ended up doing my own research and trying benzaclin which worked quite well. I'm sorry that I came in her place of work with a skin concern, I was under the impression it was her job to help me. Whoops. I always make sure I get in with Dr.J now. He's a decent doctor and has way better social skills then the PA Jen does. read more

I have been going to Jennifer for 4 years now & wouldn't go to anyone else! She has taken a skin cancer spot off me & her follow up was great. I have also had botox & fillers by her & I can't help but say-I look great! Nothing frozen or plastic looking! She is an artist & master of her craft! read more

Fantastic office. Jennifer and the staff have been nothing short of great (admittedly, we no longer see Dr. J since our needs are simple and Jennifer can easily handle). They are all great with kids, too. FYI, read the 5 star reviews that are below that are not recommended. Not sure how Yelp's algorithm's work, but these are more indicative of the experience. read more

Jennifer was horrible. I walked out of there in tears. She pushed me to take antibiotics and said there was no other option dismissing everything I even said or asked for. It took a lot for me to come there. And it took a lot of money. She was rude and treated me like I had no clue. She didn't even ask my skin type or asked what I was using and hardly looked at me. It took me 15 minutes to be able to drive after leaving. I saw the doctor there once after he was nicer but ultimately gave me crap that ruined my face even more even after I told him I had extremely sensitive and dry skin. Wow--can't believe the negative reviews I'm reading here, so thought I would pipe up with my experience(s), all extremely positive. I just scheduled my 5th return visit for a skin cancer scan (highly recommend ALL do this on an annual basis) and was seen by PA Jennifer each time. She was helpful, kind, respectful, professional, and extremely thorough--an excellent "bedside manner" who took time to answer all my questions and address all concerns. I highly recommend and no--I'm not a friend or relative--but a conscientious cancer survivor with high standards for good care. read more

Absolutely fantastic!!! I was referred to clear skin by a co worker, I had never been to a dermatologist before and I was trying to figure out a way to rid myself of severe cystic acne. Both Dr. J and Dr. Jen were amazing, after many failed acne pills (they didn't work for me, acne was too severe) they recommended I go on accutane, I was very worried because of all of the negative things I have heard about it but I decided to try it anyway and see what happens, they were very involved with me every step of the way and when my insurance wouldn't cover most of it they tried everything they could to help me get the cost down. It's been a year and a half now that I've been off of accutane and my skin has been clear ever since. I owe everyone at clear skin because they really did change my life, no more pain! read more
