I kept this appt, even though the receptionist said the doctor didn't deal with my problem.i was desperate because I'm losing my vision. Now I know why she wanted me to come. I walked out of there with a $225 product (not covered by insurance) that didn't work at all. I called the next day about getting a refund and they claimed that since I opened it, I was out of luck. Most companies take back product no matter what the condition whether it's open or not if the patient/customer is dissatisfied. Also, the doctor claimed each vial lasted for 24 hours... oops it's 8 hours (she didn't read the 24 hours was just patient testimonials. I wanted to wait a full year to leave a review as that is when the results fully set in. Let me start by saying I am the pickiest person, I searched for almost 10 years to find the perfect surgeon for my rhinoplasty. I am now 13 months post op and can honestly say choosing dr.been was by far the best thing I could have ever done. There is not one thing I would change about the work he did. The entire process was seamless from the initial consultation to my final follow up. My consultation was extremely thorough and he hit every issue that I was feeling on the head before I even said a word which definitely made me feel very confident going into the process. There was a brief moment there where I was a little concerned about my nose appearing crooked and what I love the most is he never once made me feel crazy for feeling that way or tried to make excuses as to why I felt that way, he assessed the situation recommended a few injections to reduce swelling and any issues I had were gone within the next few weeks. I will stay with rhinoplasty you are going to go through so many changes over that 12 month period & I now see why they want you to wait for the full healing time frame. I have people ask me constantly what surgeon I went to because even they feel like it was done so natural and fits my face perfect. I went to Dr. Been first for a consultation after my friend had a positive experience with a rhinoplasty. It's one of those things that I always wanted after discovering my side-profile in fifth grade, but not something I thought would ever be reality. Once I went into Dr. Been's office, from the consultation, explanation of technique, and financing options...it became more of a feasible option in my mind. I don't know how seriously I was taking myself initially, not sure I would actually follow-through with anything beyond a consultation. I was so excited, the next day I had put down my down-payment for my appointment in January. Dr. Been walked me through how his technique creates long-lasting, durable results, and showed me via simulation what might be the best options for me. I began getting so excited looking at my 3D simulation of before and after, I had Laurie put me on a wait-list in case anyone had cancelled earlier. (Side-note: Laurie is just an absolute PEACH, and makes the whole experience that much more comfortable. She was always so patient with me on the phone as I fumbled through all of the information I needed to provide). I got a call back 3 days later saying that an appointment had cancelled for a whole month earlier (December 9th) and did I want to take it. I booked it right away and got even more excited. The days leading up to my surgery, I got multiple calls from Laurie and the nurse Sherrie to ensure I was as prepared as possible for pre and post-op. It really felt as though they were holding my hand, guiding me into the unknown. I really have to say though, people kept asking me if I was nervous as I got closer to the day of surgery--I think Laurie and Sherrie had a lot to do with the fact that I just wasn't. I didn't have a single nerve, even as I sat down in that chair and began receiving the IV for the anesthetic. What I liked most about consulting with Dr. Been is that he listened to my wants, but didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear. He was very careful in his technique to ensure the procedure would produce the right results for me--aesthetically as well as functionally. He was a true partner and expert consultant, giving thorough explanations in his reasoning behind the why or why not. Once I sat down in the chair, I was still as sure as ever I was making the right decision. The entire team was so supportive and comforting, there was really just no place to have nerves in this environment. I remember talking about what I do for a living, and then all of a sudden I was waking up. It was all so fast! And I couldn't believe it was done because I felt completely normal and no pain when I was fully awake. Dr. Been had sent me pictures of my new nose before they casted me up, and I was over the moon! It was the exact shape I had always dreamt of but never thought I would achieve. The first thing I did was destroy a McDouble from the drive-thru, and then I relaxed in bed watching movies. I didn't feel exhausted, or sick, or anything. I didn't even need to take any of the pain killers--which is strange, because any of my other friends who have undergone rhinoplasty through a different surgeon reported a lot of pain and exhaustion and discomfort. I wasn't even congested until the next day! I am not sure what it is, but I hardly have any bruising or swelling, and still no pain. My friends who were not fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Been are still all so perplexed as to HOW. I'm not sure what he is doing differently, but I highly recommend Been Plastics as these first couple days are supposed to be the worst of the process. Displeased. Dr. Been didn't follow through on his "sales pitch". Gave him an opportunity to make things right, which the result was obviously wrong. Instead, he was defensive. I noticed that the facial adjustment was off while in post-op. He said that it would change over time, attributing the issue to swelling. The procedure was too quick, and he wasn't careful/exact as I was sold. I explained the expectation, I was told he was an artist and "this is the way to go". I went in for a face lift-brow, upper and lower eyes, neck, and fat implant for cheek bones. I am over 65 so they insisted on two surgeries. The eyes are good. The rest is disappointing. I am 4 months out and am so sorry I trusted them. My neck is already looking bad again after the swelling has all gone down. In addition, Dr. Been preformed a procedure without my consent. I feel so disrespected and violated. Definitely would not recommend them. read more
