Been coming here for about 4 yrs. Hadn't had a problem before. But last visit was a hot mess. I got a pair and my husband wanted to match my lense. Was told they could have them made to match mine. Order was placed. At time of pick up my husbands eye glasses were not what we ordered and what was promised. So manager gets involved and says employee placed order incorrectly. Will send in again but was gonna take long. I had gotten some eye glass a year ago and wanted the lenses to be switched. They couldn't do it there. My husband asked if he could pay to get lens switched a.d we would pay if theirwas a fee. Manager would call back to give us information. She called the next day, that she was able to change lens. Ok thanks that's great. But today we go in because they said husbands eye glass are ready again. But they didnt do them like he wasted again. Manager come by says that's the best they can do. And that she couldn't send them back because they've done what they can. So I got upset because the way she expressed it was like if we placed order wrong. Or asking for stuff that they cant do. This manager treated us like if we are getting a free service from her and clear view. I said can I speak to a manager she said I'm the manager. And says and yes I'm the one that changed your lens. Like if she did me a favor. When we said we would pay for the exchange of lens. So that got me more upset. I said wow I cant believe u are the manager. She doesnt have no self control in showing her anger and disrespect. She talked to me like if she was not getting paid for our lens. When she said they couldn't do anything else. I said it's your staff fault for not writing the information correctly and u even apologized for that. I have vsp insurance. Yes it's a very good insurance to have but great coverage. But theres 2 type of ins. U can not pay anything or pay a monthly fee to have even a better coverage. So I pay more each month to have a better coverage. So I when she said its not like give we are not paying for our glass. You are getting paid from my insurance and she made a face gesture and a sound le saying no. So I said if my insurance is paying what do u mean no. She then explained the insurance only pays them a percentage and it's not enough. So I said so why do u guys except our insurance if your not getting paid enough. It's your choice to except the insurance. She didn't answer. But clear view or the manager are not doing me a favor I pay my insurance. She made it seem like if they dont make no money with vsp insurance. And because and I'm getting penalized for having a good insurance. Manager need to speak with respect to the customer. And know she not doing me a favor. I still have a portion a pay monthly. And my insurance covers. And plus if I choose a expensive lens I still have to pay for balance. She not giving them for free! Learn to speak to your customers with respect and read your job description learn to give customer service. You had all your staff gather up by the desk and criticize the situation. And stare at me and my husband like if we made wrong order. Your employees are the ones that didn't write the instructions correctly. So usally when a business does something wrong they take care of it with out making the customer like if they are at fault and making them feel like it's bad for having vsp insurance. read more

Even though both my husband and daughter were leaving because of bad service, I still wanted to stay because I really liked going here. But unfortunately I am now leaving too. I recently made an eye appointment for a regular exam but I got a call a few days before from the doctor asking why I made the appointment and if I was "confused on what location my eye appointment was at" and she just assumed that I left too. I was shocked. Never once did I say anything to them and I even came in to get my glasses fixed. Another issue I had, which is why my family left but I put up with, was the service. The staff has been so unprofessional and rude. I purchased my eye drops from here only to discover that they expired in less than a month. I usually get a few months with them. I brought it up with the one of the staff only to be told that they purposely sold me soon-to-be expiring drops. Oh and they also said they charged me buy-one get-one free but they didn't clearly based on the receipt; and the staff member told me that I "don't know how to read their receipts so you can't tell." I have been coming here for years and I really did like the doctors, but the staff has been so rude and it hasn't gotten better. It has been brought up multiple times on the rudeness of the staff to the doctors but it seems that the doctors and the owner don't bother to listen to their patients. read more

I've been coming to Clear View for a few years now, and they have always been great. For this visit, Dr Krall saw my son and made him feel totally comfortable during the eye exam process. I'm not surprised to get great service here, and my items have always came in within the timeline I've been told upfront (usually faster too). Today was my first time going to Clear View and I'll have to say this was the best experience I had with an optometrist. Dr. Krall was hilarious and took any opportunity to make sarcastic and funny remarks which i enjoyed very much. I have been going to clear view optometry for about 2 years. They are a god send. I had been diagnosed with Keratakonus about 30 years ago. It has been a nightmare not being able to be fitted correctly with other optometrist. If you have never experienced having keratakonus, you have to be thankful. It is frustrating and your not able to function if you can't see and the contact lens is not comfortable. Finally I discovered clear view optometry. The best of the best optometrist. Friendly, caring, professional and I just consider a miracle from heaven. I am still wearing contacts but with a smile now. They are comfortable and I can see. I am so happy. First of all the doctors are really good and professional. But I gave them three stars because of the staff. The girl Emily receptionist from looking at her name on their website is very rude. And the girl with yellow hair, it looks like she colored it red from the picture on their site, well she was also rude. All they did was whisper things back and forth. The other girls seemed nice and professional. My sister also went here for an exam and she thought the same thing about those two staff members. Hopefully they won't be there for my next appt, if I decide to go back! I hate that ii might have to transfer my family to another office!...because the doctors are really good! read more

These people are unethical, and I would not recommend going here. I got an eye exam for contact lenses and glasses from here, but did not purchase contacts or frames. When they wrote my prescription, they intentionally did not measure the Pupillary Distance (PD). So when it came time to buying my frames online, I did not have the number. When I returned to the place, the lady said "we usually don't measure that." I let her know that when one gets a prescription, one expects that all measurements should be filled in and nothing should be blank on the prescription. She said "you can take a ruler and measure it yourself." I got quite upset and told her this was very unprofessional. Then she walks over to her electronic PD measuring device, and puts it in front of my eyes in a hasty manner and says "stand still." Two seconds later, the device gives the measurement. Now, I'm looking at my rx and the glasses one is for 2yrs, but the contact lens one is only for 1 yr. I know optometrists are struggling to make a dollar these days, but you expect a certain level of service and this place falls way shot. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

We have been with clear view for about 6 years now. We love the friendly staff and the selection of frames. We have 5 children, 2 with 20/20, 2 with slight prescriptions, and one (like my husband) on the verge of being blind as a bat. First I'd like to quickly mention some health issues I've had for over a year. I had started to see an RA because I was having severe aching of the joints, my insomnia was out of control (averaging 3-4 hrs of sleep) and I was dealing with brain fog. Several blood panels, x-Rays, and sleeping pills later, I was struggling to function on a daily basis and my doctors still weren't exactly sure what was wrong. I happened to take my kids and my self in for our annual exam. Dr. Zubi (who is the best, my kids adore him and he's so attentive) finished my exam and explained that my vision was 20/20 but asked how I had been feeling. I said my eyes felt fine. He said, "I mean how is your health lately?" On cue I just told him everything that had been going on with my health for the last 4 months. He asked me a simple question. "Do you use a laptop or mobile device before bed?" Well, yes, I do. I had started an online business and did most of my work in the evening after dinner when kids went down to bed. That's when he explained that there is this blue light that flat screens and mobile devices emit that the eyes recognize as daylight and can cause your internal clock to reset and think it's day time. So he prescribed me glasses with a blue light filter. My life changed within 2 weeks of starting to wear them! I still have some joint issues but they had been tripled by my lack of sleep. I suggest this filter to everyone. Yes, it was a bit pricey to add on but having lived four months of hell made it an easy choice. Okay, back to my visit yesterday. We have moved to Arcadia, but we love dr. Zubi and his team at clear view so we are still driving out to Rancho to see him. My 13 year old was examined for contacts. They did a great job and worked with her for 30 min to teacher how to put them in and take them out. 2 hrs later we came back so they could spend another 30 min practicing taking them out (yes, it took her that long to take two contacts out!) and they were so patient and didn't make her feel rushed. Kid #5 who is 9 had to have his eyes dilated because Dr. Zubi saw thinning in his retina. After further examination he's suspicions were confirmed. While we went and had lunch Dr. Zubi (or maybe one of his wonderful staff) researched ophthalmologist by our new house that accepts our medical insurance and specializes in kids. HELLO!!! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME ANY MEDICAL OFFICE DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR A PATIENT?!?!? When we returned 2 hrs later he had a referral letter, forms filled out for the ophthalmologist and all the information to contact the office waiting for us. And we were fortunate that this doctors office took the possible condition of my son seriously enough to get him in later today. We will be clear view patients forever. They are so committed to my family. I always feel like they sincerely care about not just our vision but our over all health. Sorry for the super long post. If you got this far then you really are doing your research, and you really are looking for people who treat you like family and not a drive thru. I'm sure you will be happy to come to this office! read more

Made an appointment on 2/14 for my daughter and exam was great no complaints there. Location is big and large selection of frames. Review is based on the timelessness of receiving my daughters glasses. On 2/14 we were told that her glasses will be here on 2/20, but will try and rush it. Well 2/20 comes around and I haven't heard from them so I decided to call and was told they are not in and they should be in on Tuesday 2/24 (which is tomorrow) let's see what happens. I informed them that I was promised Friday what happened? The response was something about shipping and they (the lab) doesn't ship on weekends??!! I think if the optometrist office opens 7 days a week then the lab should be able to ship because they receive business on the weekend and people need their glasses. I will think twice before returning. read more

I've been a patient of Clear View Optometry since they were located in Victoria Gardens. Since they moved to northern Rancho Cucamonga, I have also moved further west and decided to stick with the office making it about a 30-45 drive for me. I thought they were top notch until my most recent experience. I came back from vacation with an eye ulcer and thankfully the office was able to get me in the very next day of my return. When I booked the appointment over the phone, the receptionist was kind to tell me what my copay would be. I go in, Dr diagnosed me and sent me off with an antibiotic prescription, her request for a follow up the next day and I paid my $55 copay. I head straight to the pharmacy and now there is a line building behind me because the pharmacist couldn't find the medication prescribed. I get embarrassed as the patrons start making their comments of waiting too long for me. I ask the pharmacist what's taking so long and come to find out, the medication prescribed was no longer on the market and hasn't been for quite sometime. The embarrassment continues as the pharmacist had to call Clear View to have them prescibe me something else. Finally I get my medication and I'm off. The next day comes and I'm swarmed with appts at work. I call as a courtesy to inform them I'm not going to make it at all this week and they should give the appointment slot to someone else. The receptionist made it very clear how important it was for the doctor to see me, so I take it with urgency and book the latest appointment available the next day at 5:50. Next day comes and I'm there a bit earlier than my appt. I respond to a work text at 5:50 and doc sees me at 5:51. My eye is checked and responding well to the antibiotics. Doc asked to see me again in one week and I'm at the receptionist desk. I was in the room for one minute, seriously no longer than 60 seconds. I book my f/u appointment and then I was told to pay a $35 copay .. for what?? for 60 seconds of their time? for an appointment that the doctor requested? for me to answer that my eye is feeling better? what happened to being told before I book the appointment? I walked out of the office at 5:53. Really, Clear View? Your ethics are going out the window to do what's right and it seems like you're turning into a money hungry office. Granted $35 isn't much, but it's the principle to request to see your patients for their well being, not your greed. I referred four individuals here and needless to say that after I shared my experience we'll never return. read more

My family has been coming here since we moved here from New York three years ago. I have been very happy until recently when I called because I needed to order more contacts for my son. They told me it had been over a year and my son would need an exam. So, I made an appointment for him so he could get contacts as well as glasses. I was told that the insurance would only cover the exam for one, contacts or glasses. I said to them that it is crazy that insurance wouldn't cover both. I asked if it was state law that contacts can't be dispensed unless there is a yearly exam and she said it was their policy. I walked out. I went home and did some research and found out that in the state of California it is a minimum of 1-2 years. I went back a couple weeks later to speak to a manager and she said the same thing. So, the only reason they wouldn't do it is because of greed! They want the money for both. Which means I have to pay out of pocket for the exam. I said I will order them from 1-800 contacts. She said I couldn't because the doctor only makes it a one year prescription because of liability. So I told the manager to give me my families prescriptions. When I got home, I looked at them and they are all good for two years! So I am going to Costco tomorrow to get my sons contacts. read more

The eye doctors at Clear View Optometry are friendly, competent, and courteous; the front office staff is snippy, incompetent, and defensive: if your glasses turn out wrong, like mine did (twice!), they will blame YOU, even though they are in charge of every step of the process. My advice? Go somewhere else. I should have known there was a problem when the person who helped me select my glasses used a Sharpie to measure my pupillary distance. That's right, a Sharpie. I chose a pair of frames I liked, and put them on. She asked me to look at her, then used a Sharpie to mark a spot on each lens. The result was a tiny squiggly line in the middle of each lens. Mind you, she didn't use a pupillometer (the handheld device you look into that accurately measures the distance between your pupils) like they do at every other optometry shop I've been to. Pupillary distance, I later learned, is critical to producing correct lenses, especially for certain types of lens material, or certain kinds of prescriptions. But here, at Clear View, the office staff determined my pupillary distance my measuring the distance between two scribbles. I was there to order bifocals, so the next step was to determine the placement of the bifocal lens (the half-moon shaped insert in the lower part of the lens). The proper way to do this, I later learned, is to use your current eye glasses as a guide and measure the distance from the bottom edge of the frame to the top edge of the bifocal, then transfer that measurement to the new frame and the new lenses. Makes sense. At Clear View they use scotch tape instead of a ruler. They ask, "Where do you want your bifocal lens placed?" You shake your head and say, "At the bottom?" Then they'll put a piece of scotch tape on the lens. "How's that?" they ask. You move your head around and notice that you can see through the top half of the lens only; the bottom half is completely blurred because... there's a piece of SCOTCH TAPE on the lens. "Is it too high?" they ask. "I guess," you'll say. They take off your glasses, peel off the tape, move it down, and ask "Is that better?" You can now see better through the lens -- the blurry spot has moved down. "Yeah, I guess so," you say. "Great!" they say, then whisk off your new glasses for processing. Two weeks later, when you pick up your new eye glasses, the bifocal will be misplaced. You'll have to tip your head back unnaturally whenever you want to use your glasses to read. The incorrect pupillary distance means the things you want to see will never quite be in focus. When you tell the office person that something's not right, all the pretense, all their smiles and fakey politeness instantly evaporates. "Hm," they'll say. "Well." Then they'll make a display of looking at your chart, then at your new $350 glasses, then back at your chart. "I don't understand it," they'll say. "They should be perfect." This is when they smile at you and hand you back the glasses. "Try them again." This is more a directive than a request. You put the glasses back on. You now realize the lenses are much worse than you first realized. These glasses are wrong. "Is that better now?" they ask, the voice rising with growing impatience. "Uh.... No. Something's wrong." Now you get The Look. The Look says, "I am so SICK of these idiotic patients who WASTE my time." They snatch the glasses off your face and stomp up to the reception desk where they talk in hushed tones to the Office Manager, both of them shooting you disapproving glances. Now comes the Office Manager. Slowly. Step. By. Step. Every footfall is a warning to think about the problem you are causing to the entire front office staff -- all of them now looking at you with disdain and disapproval. You are now THE COMPLAINER. This will probably be the first time you notice that they are all dressed like the models in the posters put up around the shop, the ones with the models that look too beautiful, too perfect to need eyeglasses. The posters that make you feel like an outsider. If you've forgotten your high school days, the front office staff at Clear View will remind you instantly of that circle of mean kids who dressed well on daddy's dime and looked down their noses at everybody else. After a few minutes, the Office Manager finally slumps into the chair across from you. She hands you your new $350 glasses without speaking to you. You put the glasses on. And yes, believe it or not, she gets out the Sharpie and the scotch tape and goes through whole routine again. And when the glasses come back two weeks later, they're still wrong. I think you can trust the eye doctors here to get a correct prescription, but get your glasses somewhere else. The office staff is the WORST: they'll resent you for making them do their job, then take it out on you by making sure your glasses come out wrong. read more

Went in with my girlfriend because she had an appt. I ask to see some glasses and to have them check my coverage . I sat and waited for 35 min as I watched people walking in getting glasses....no one helped me. The staff seemed to concerned about the winery they were going to or went to. Very unprofessional. And the last time I went in I got the wrong glasses and when I went to return them they said I have to wait till next year for my insurance. I guess I should have learned my lesson the first time....not going back. read more
