This place is a dump. Be prepared to shell out a lot of money for a very sped up meter. Also, you can't get change here. Also the machines are not fair. There's a sign that says you can add quarters and an add time but when you do you realize you just put quarters in a slot that says tokens only. I've been going to this car wash for a while and am always happy with the result. It's way better than any automatic or hand-washes I've been to and well-worth the extra effort. Almost perfect, but one star off for the inconvenience of assembling cash/quarters. I go straight down the list (pre-soak, wash, foam brush, rinse, conditioner, spot-free rinse). Everything comes out of the metal nozzle hose except the foam, which comes out of the brush on the opposite wall. Pre-soak and spot-free rinse are low-pressure. I let the timer run out after soaping up with the foam brush, then take my time giving it a thorough scrub before re-starting the timer. I let it air dry as I drive home; the spot-free rinse lives up to its name! It helps to have a friend in charge of putting in coins and changing wash modes. I have not tried the vacuums. Overall, I get a great wash for about $8 (compact car). $3 minimum to get it going and that gets you 4min (20sec per quarter). read more

Vacuum #3 suction is awful. I was able to clean a bit, but nothing I cohldn't have done at home for free. I come here for the stronger suction and better cleaning power, but overall it was a waste of money. Hopefully the rest aren't garbage. read more

Today after work I went by to clean my van, it was about 5:30p, I parked in one of the stalls and started changing my pants and shoes for shorts and sandals because I am washing the van, right?. Suddenly I see an old man trying to see trough my windshield, when I noticed I hurry and stood up, he get even closer, so I open the door and ask "can I help you?" He says I am just checking you are not going to stay here to sleep? I want to imagine this is either the clueless owner/manager or a mentally I'll person, as most people don't go to sleep at 5:30p, If the owner he is a little diluted thinking that anyone would want to sleep in that nasty place, that is probably full of rats at night. But even more, if there is people that may do chose to sleep there, his lack of sense in harassing women is outrageous. Perhaps he will be better of going there at night which is when most people sleep. His behavior was odd and rude. read more

Provides you with the tools you need to clean up your car. Pro-tip: Bring quarters! They have a machine that allows you to change your notes to token but it's selective about the notes it accepts! Did a vacuum $1.50 for approx 3 mins or so. It's powerful enough and long enough to make a round our small sedan. One of the machines was spoilt and we had to move to another, they have six so sufficient to meet everyone need even when one is down. Went to the washing bay to wash the car. $3 for 4mins which allows you access to all the varied washing features. The jets are powerful and does it's job. They have five washing bay and surprisingly busy. Perhaps because we were here on a Saturday noon time. Will come back again when I need a quick clean. read more

I love self-serve carwashes, but I always seem to be deficient of quarters and dollars. There isn't a change machine around either. They take credit card, but my $3 car wash turned into $8.75. Good thing I looked at the machine. You must press the button to stop charging. Otherwise, it will keep going. That would have been nice to be prefaced with signage at the kiosk. As for the carwash itself, there is a vacuuming area which I never use, but the car wash cycles are awesome: Foam brush, tire cleaner, conditioner, spotless rinse... They even have a blower which serves best as leaving less water for your towel to soak up for proper drying. Your speed and efficiency will get you the best deal here. read more

Very clean. I went on a Monday evening and there were very few people. I didn't see a card reader so I paid cash. I got about 7 minutes for $5. That was plenty of time to wash my car. Be sure to watch some youtube videos on how to use a self-service car wash before you go. read more

The meters don't accept card and the change machine dispenses tokens that are only redeemable on site. Bring small bills and quarters! The wash works fine, good water pressure and softer brush than most other self service car washes though I would still avoid using them as they will scratch your paint. First time doing a self-service car wash. The instructions were simple enough. 3 things you can use: hose, brush, and blow dryer. Simply press the buttons on the machine where you pay to activate the hose and blow dyer! $3 for 5 minutes, or $5 for 7 minutes. I ended up using $11 to complete wash my car and dry it. That is so much cheaper than the other car washes where a simple exterior wash is like $15. Plus, you get the peace of mind - you are washing your own beloved car after all. The hose has many options: pre-wash rinse, soap, tire wash(?), rinse (high pressure), and spot-free rinse (low pressure). If you care about your car a lot, want to save money, and don't trust others to wash your car, this is a GREAT place! Highly recommend. read more

For the second time I went the foam brush didn't work. Not going back again. They don't maintain the equipment. Steer clear.

A good location in San Mateo to self-wash your car! Just like any other self-service car wash locations, you pay for the time to rinse, pop foam, rinse and finally dry your car. It is significantly cheaper than other manned car wash services - last time I used 8 dollars to have my mid-sized SUV completed cleaned while there were still dirty spots when I paid $19 + tips to have some one else clean my car. The water hose is powerful - more than enough to thoroughly yet lovingly clean your car. But the reason it doesn't earn 5 stars is that although there are card readers in each bay, they don't work - either no response at all or showing try again. As far as do it yourself car washes go, this one is pretty decent. Everything was in working order and pretty clean. It's right off the highway and easy to get to. But you might want to bring quarters because it costs more if you end up using tokens for the vacuums. read more

If your a woman with wheels you dont wanna go here by yourself-after spending $30 and about an hour at this car wash-i was so, disrespected by the owner whos name is Bob. He approached me & never let me know he was the owner nor what his problem was with me. He just talked all crazy to me and called the police on me. I admit, im far from an angel but i can say in this situation, i did nothing wrong-at least that i was aware of. I will never spend another dime at this car wash.
