It starts out with the washers, I've had to exit my truck to advise of the spots they overlooked. I thought maybe it's a one time thing, but it's happened over and over again. This is a fast and basic car wash with very good value for the money. It is a hand wash not a machine and they respond to any missed spots. You pay a little more than what you pay at a gas station auto wash and get a much cleaner car inside and out. I used to love this place. They typically do a good job cleaning the interior and exterior of my car. I don't leave until I check out the entire car and let them know of any spots that are missed. They even clean my interior mats separately. I drive a Model Y and they typically charge me $30-40. This past weekend they charged me $60, and I noticed later they didn't reapply my car magnets - no idea where they are now. Very disappointing and since prices aren't posted I was forced to pay the bill. I had already tipped $10, so this ultimately cost me ~$100 in all. My dad has a model S and they charge him $25 for inside/outside cleaning. I will go back, but will confirm pricing before they touch my car. read more

It all depends what you are looking for. $28 + tip for a hand car wash. (I feel it's more of a $20 wash). Fast, but it's a hit or miss. You may get a good clean car or you may get a half ass cleaning. If you're in the area and in need of a fast rinse and dry, this is your place. They'll have you on your way in 15 minutes. But, if you are looking for a good solid wash, this is not the place. They won't go above and beyond, they'll just do the basics and may miss some areas. After returning from snowboarding at Lake Tahoe the car was filthy! It was one of the worst snowstorms in a while and we had caked on dirt and mud. This called for more than just a Loop car wash. This called for a serious handwashing. After reading the yelp reviews we decided on the 100% hand car wash on Marsh Road. As we pulled up they immediately started shooting the car. We asked how much it cost and then they stopped. I think it was more because they did not understand English rather than the question we posed. The business looks like it's all Vietnamese mainly non-English-speaking worker, except for the lady collecting the money. She quoted us $25 to wash the MDX and clean the inside . We thought that was quite reasonable, especially considering how dirty the car is (it's also full of dog hair). We surrender the car to them and they begin the task of power washing off all the dirt. Washing took all of 10 minutes of power washing...they sprayed it with the power washer, hand wash with soap, power washed each of the tires and then thoroughly rinsed it off. They also did some kind of treatment on the tires. Then he motioned us to drive around to the front where they wiped it all down, clean the windows, like the door jams as well as the inside upholstery. I always want to support family owned business and when I saw cute older asian women/men that work here, I envy their hard work. Came here to get a quick vacuum for my car, located super close to the freeway so it's very convenient. This establishment is not the nicest, very standard hand car wash and another area where they vacuum your car. Most of them do not speak English. The reason why I gave them low stars is because they stole my change in my cup holders. I knew it was there because I literally just put them there before I came. I know it's not much, but if they willing to steal some small change, I'm sure they would take something else that they see in the car if they think they can get away with it. I panicked and check my glove compartment to make sure nothing else is missing. This kind of dishonesty will not bring any customer back. They charge me $7 for a very quick vacuum and I tipped $5. My car was looking filthy because we had one brief moment of moderate rain, and my car is across the street from a construction site. Those two things combined made for a really ugly looking car. I found this place on Yelp (where else?) and I saw it was extremely close to my work in Menlo Park. I pull in and follow the sign that says Car Wash Entrance, there are two cars already being washed so I'm directed to the open stall. They tell me to roll my windows up, and they start washing my car. Mind you, I haven't told them what kind of wash I want yet. I've actually not said one word to anyone at this time. After they're done washing, soaping, and rinsing, they direct me out and I'm just confused as to what is happening. Someone directs me to a spot and they start drying my car. They finally ask if I want everything...not sure what that is, I just said yes and hoped for the best. There are like 5 people drying my car and wiping the windows down, and another vacuuming. They were like ninjas, not just because they are Asian, but because they swarmed that thing -- that's not racist I'm Asian too...so there. They finish, and then finally someone comes up to me and tells me $21. I was so shocked and amazed I wanted to give them a good tip. They do take credit cards, so I told her I wanted to pay with my card so I can give them a good tip. Minutes later I was on my way...all this took about 15 minutes. I did go during around 12:45pm on a Wednesday, I'm sure the business varies on time and day. The car wash wasn't perfect, I'm not sure if they wiped down my interior, but they did vacuum. Hidden gem. Probably passed this place like 100x more and still wouldn't know it was there. My boyfriend recommended this place to me. Swears up and down they do a great job. My car was at the point where you write "wash me" so I figured let's give it a try. I came in on a Saturday dreading the line there might be at this place. I got there and was served in less than 2 minutes. What a joy! Got some soap on and several people were all over the car washing it with soft towels. Once it was washed it was sprayed with water and I was asked to move forward. A man requested to know what services I wanted. I said everything = windows, tires, vacuum. At that moment I stepped out the car and they proceeded to vacuum my car, clean my windows inside and out, and clean my rims. Boy, what a great job they did on my rims. I don't know if it's because that's what I notice more on my car but I was pretty happy. I payed for my service and tipped and was on my way. I'm super cheap when it comes to car washes. I usually go through those automated gas station ones (or wait until it rains). I always look like an idiot trying to align my tires correctly to the track rails. It usually takes several tries to slide in. Now, I know how it feels like to be a guy when they can't find the hole. I was on my way to Stanford when I realized how dirty my car was. I found 100% Hand Car Wash on Yelp and was sold on "cheap". And, it also helps that Yelp's very own CEO, Jeremy S. gave it 5 stars! As a virgin to this car wash, this place was confusing AF. They have poor signage and the Vietnamese staff barely speaks any English. They use hand gestures and but the staff gives conflicting instructions. For example, I was told to leave my key in the car to go pay but 30 seconds later, I was told by someone else to move my car up the line. And, there was no one inside the "office" for me to pay. (1) When you're driving along Marsh Road, slow down immediately when you see the Valero signage so you can turn into the entrance of 100% Hand Car Wash. If you miss the main entrance, you will have to go around again. (2) Drive into one of three stalls and stay in your car while they wash it. (3) Once they're done washing your car, drive around to the front where the staff will collectively dry your car and vacuum your interior. (4) They will then collect payment. They now accept credit cards (the guy in back of me paid with a cc). No one asked what kind of services I wanted but they did everything I had wanted. They washed my car's exterior and vacuumed the interior, and it was only $18 ($24? For SUVs and Vans)! $18!!! Seriously, you can't beat that price in the affluent Menlo Park/Atherton area so it's easy to overlook the disorganization. For the same services, I've paid doubled that in the Peninsula and it costs $21 just for an exterior car (w/ no drying) at the nearest automated car wash to me in SF. The job wasn't pristine but no complaints for the price. Tater Tot sheds like crazy and I could finally see my black carpets again so I was content. Don't expect them to scrap off dried ketchup or animal sauce from every nook and cranny of your car's interior for the price. Plus, the staff is fast and efficient. I went on a Saturday afternoon and I was in/out in less than 10 minutes. I drive a black car and park outside in SF - it's been 11 days since my car wash here and my car still looks relatively clean. Since I'm usually in the Peninsula and/or South Bay on the weekends, 100% Hand Car Wash will now be my go to. P.S. - The staff is mainly senior citizens and they work their asses off so please tip generously! read more

Came in around 3pm today (Saturday) and breezed right through. There's a sign in the front that directs you to the start of the car wash and the folks there will wave you through and tell you when to stop. They rinsed, soaped, then power rinsed my car. When they were done washing my car they waved me through and I drove around to the front again where they dried off the car with towels. I was also hoping to get a smog check done, but they said it wasn't ready yet and to come back in 2 weeks. I have a Jeep Cherokee and it was $20+tip. Overall I think they did a decent job. Some spots here and there where there might still be some residue from trees or bird poop, but overall I think it's about what I was expecting. I used to live right around the corner from this spot--a car wash cum nail salon cum [fill in the blank] whatever else they decide to open up that day. The service (as in customer service) is brusque to say the very least. Actually, no, that would be too much of an understatement. The men (it's mostly two of the guys), will definitely berate and bark out directions at you like drill sergeants all the while with cigarettes hanging out of their cars. I've gotten out of my vehicle to say what's up and challenge the guy to say whatever it is he's telling at me to my face but, of course, the coward backed down. Cowards always do. When the power wash portion is done, they *will* audibly and loudly slam their palms on the car to let you know it's time to move onto the dirty, reused rags drying portion of the car "wash". The drying portion consists of women dropping their dirty reused rags on the ground and then using them to wipe down your car. As with so many things in life, the moral of the story is that you get what you pay for--genuinely, almost incomprehensibly, hostile (that is precisely the right word to use) service coupled with a half-assed job especially when it comes to the drying portion. I would look elsewhere unless you like being berated and screamed at for no apparent reason other than the fact that the guys all have bad tempers pretty much all the time. read more

This is a very mediocre car wash place, where you ask for full interior cleaning and end up finishing the job yourself at home because they didn't even bother to clean some parts. The place is chaotic, you don't know where to go and how to choose your cleaning options, and you end up asking people around. They speak English poorly and are very unfriendly. As said before, very poor interior cleaning... I had a curry stain on the carpet and they wanted $20 more to remove it. Given the rushed job they did for the rest, I declined. A hidden gem indeed! What looks like an old gas station has been turned into the best car wash around! Unbelievably cheap, unpretentious, and very very fast! For $10 [with tip!!!] and in only about 15 minutes my poor little white car [that I drive as if it were an old hummer] was vacuumed, polished, and pampered! It's sparkling clean, DOESN'T smell like a box of cleaning detergents [they use chamois strips to polish the inside and outside instead of using a lot of cleaning liquids], and I am so happy! A few notes: It's CASH ONLY [though I think most people could find $10 in change around the car and their pockets!] When you pull in to have your car soaped and rinsed on the outside, you STAY INSIDE YOUR CAR [unlike most car wash places, where you hand over the keys and watch some unlicensed idiot bang your car against plastic garbage cans] and then you drive your car to the other side of the building where it will be vacuumed, etc. Make sure you ask for your windows to we washed on the inside - otherwise they'll just wash the outside. I'm definitely coming here from now on! This place is pretty much no frills no convo car wash. I moved to the area some time ago and noticed that this place is always PACKED with lines on weekends but it didn't look like people waited for awhile, so you know they were fast. With the baby in the car, I needed a wash, but not on a weekend so I opted to come on a random Monday late afternoon. Drove up and one man told me to get into the left lane out of three. They immediately started to rinse my car with a regular sprinkler and then used some soft brushes to soap it up. Some other man then came by and did a mist rinse. Everything looked clean to me - cleaner than the drive through car washes I have been going to for a the past year. Before you drive to the dry area, the person asks you if you want everything. I guess I should have done my homework and read the menu choices better before rolling up. I also could have asked them what were my choices but I said yea - please clean inside and out, and drove to the drying area. I got out of my car, took out my kid and waited in the shaded area, where it looked like a poker game had been going on. One by one I saw cars getting squeaky dry and customers on their way. There were probably 5 ladies and 3 men working this day in the 80 degree hot sun. I was impressed though, no watermarks on my car despite it being dried in the direct sun. A younger lady signaled that my car was done and she let me put my kid back in the carseat. I opened the truck to see if they had vacuumed it but it didn't look like it. Shoot, was I supposed to ask for that too? Oh well, maybe next time. The lady came by and I asked her how much and she said, "$25." I gave her $25 + tip in cash, got in my car and was on my way. I am satisfied with the wash. I wouldn't say it is anything spectacular but all the dust from my dark interior was gone and there was a poopy diaper stench in the trunk before and that was gone too.
