I was pleased to know that there was financing available if needed and the rep agreed to come to my home to see the work I needed. She came and measured; then called and came back because she wanted to double-check the color she had chosen. That was a good thing, because in a different light, she was able to get a more accurate view of the color (we were matching what would be on the stairs to what I already have on my gound floor.) She ordered the wood and it took about a month to get in but once in, AFS called and set up the work date. I paid half of my total cost to get the wood ordered, and completed the purchase once the appointment for installation was made. I was given the date for the install and was told that the crew would be at my house between 8 and 11. They arrived right at 8. The "crew" was two men, neither of whom spoke English, but when I tell you they were professionals in the highest sense of the word, I don't do them justice. They came in, got the lay of the land, took the carpet up, and got to work, preparing the stairs and the hallway, sanding where there needed to be sanding, and letting me know the whole time what they were doing and why. They laid that hardwood with love and pride. The job took all day (they thought it would take 1/2 day) and when they were done, they totally cleaned up the work area. They took the old carpet away, swept up all dust inside the house and in the garage, where they worked, and then, as they left, reminded me to close the garage door. All of this might sound like a bit much, but I've had work done in my house in several areas, and good service as well as good workmanship has been hard to find. These guys were perfect!!!!! And the stairs/floor are gorgeous! I recommend America's Floor Source. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
