Swung by for an oil change. The whole staff was incredibly friendly. They provided a complimentary drink while performing the work. Jonathan in particular, was extremely professional and helpful. He swapped out my headlight in minutes for a price 4 times cheaper than all the mechanic shops out there. Best of all, it's a full service drive through. Highly recommend you go there! read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars. I don't mind a short wait for a quick oil change, but the experience was disappointing. Despite clearly stating I wanted only an oil change with no extra services, the technician repeatedly asked about additional services like transmission fluid flushes and radiator checks, which felt pushy. What really dropped the rating was the wasted time--after a 30-minute wait, the tech spent an additional 8-10 minutes chatting about football picks with another technician while my car sat idle under the camera, showing no work being done. For a $100 full synthetic oil change at a "quick lube" service, I expect efficiency, not a sports debate. Frustrating! Talk sports on a break not while I'm sitting there!!!!! read more

I have been going to this lube center for about 6 years since I moved to Frederick area. I have had good to great experiences getting my regular maintenance done every few months. The 1 not so good experience was a year or more ago when my skid plate either came loose or was not put back on securely . It was dragging on the street while I was driving . They were quick to secure it that day and apologized sincerely. Things happen ( can't be upset about a rare incident) Unfortunately it happened again and I must say that I was concerned at this point . I called and explained that this has happened before calmly to there team . The team and the manager (Mike ) showed me the plate and that it had been damaged through the experience's. Mike and the team removed it temporarily and ordered me a New skid plate.. I felt like they handled my problem in a professional and respectful way.. I will continue to use this location with no hesitation! I feel like Mike and the team look-out for my best interest when taking care of my car ! read more

This is my first visit to The Lube Center. From start to finish, I have NEVER been treated so courteously & professionally. Being an older, single woman, sometimes, auto repair places try to take advantage of me. Gouging prices, telling me I need things done when I don't, etc. The young ladies who checked me in were extremely friendly & accommodating. The gentleman (Wayne) who was working on my car, was extremely professional, explained everything that had been done, and a recommendation to replace the belt. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get this done today, and explained that I had to travel for work on Saturday. He assured me that the cracks in the belt were very small, and I could take care of it upon my return. I told him I'd be back on Monday. He never pressured me to, "get it done now". I went home, and thought about my experience. I was so impressed by this place, and the people in it, I got right back in my car, and returned. I was greeted in the same professional manner. Wayne approached me personally, and said he would be replacing my belt. 5 Stars to ALL of you. I can't say enough great things about The Lube Center! I needed an oil change. Pulling into the open bay at this location was both convenient and timely. There were at least four attendants busy with my SUV. Candy, Earnie and James stood out to me as true professionals. Candy with 5 years and James with 15 years of experience. It was Earnie who demonstrated my need for an air-cleaner replacement. Just look at that dirty thing! My visit from start to finish lasted 20 minutes and I was out of there. The Lube Center Car Wash Spa was just across the street. I was handed a Spa certificate good for a year. I was so happy the certificate was for their Supreme Wash option. The self vacuum had a long line for the twenty or so bays that were full. It wasn't long (maybe ten minutes) before I was busy detailing the inside of my car. They even had a floor mat cleaning machine that did a terrific job. Reinstalling the floor mats, I was surprised to see a few silver hairs to pick off. For the life of me, I cannot figure out where in the world they even came from (lol). The entire experience was just amazing! It's fair to say my life was changed. If you're reading this and wondering if I'll return, just go back and reread the two sentences above. I'm like, Yeah! Do not recommend this location. The cashier never came to check on what I wanted. A technician did and when I told him she hadn't come yet he took care of me. I overheard him tell her I said she hadn't come to talk to me and she was belligerent and hateful. If it weren't for the tech I would rate this experience as zero if I could. The incredible unprofessional behavior of the cashier means I will never come here again. *UPDATE: spoke with the manager about the situation. He assured me that this was not a behavior he supported. Come here regularly (more than10x), expensive, but so is everywhere else...my car (5 yr old VW Passat) was showing an oil-level alert, and I remembered that Lube Shop offers "free top-off service" which I had never used before. (I still had 1k before I needed to change my oil so this seemed like a great option). Line was long so I ran errands, came back - waited 45 minutes before I got a number and mentioned to the customer service rep that I just needed a top off (and hence wasn't going to be spending money) then got PASSED OVER TWICE...left without ever getting served with over 1 hr. waiting for nothing...Valvoline here I come. read more

I don't usually write reviews, however, I felt like I had to today. This was my first time ever visiting The Lube Center. I went there to get my transmission fluid changed. I have to say from start to finish it was a very good experience. All the staff couldn't have been nicer. Even with the place being packed when I pulled up, and another car waiting before me they still got me in and underway in 15 min. I was done in 30 min. Best price I had been quoted from any other service center. Very clean shop too. Will definitely be back again! read more

I have been going to different locations of The Lube Centers in Frederick, MD for years because the prices are great. Today I stopped by the location on 85/Buckeystown Pike since it is close to my job and was amazed at the awesome service that I received! While changing my oil, it was discovered and suggested that I needed additional services for my minivan. I jokingly replied that if they had to access an area behind my glove compartment, it would be impossible because the lock broke and I could not open it. Mike Jones immediately took a look at it to see what the problem was. While he was checking it out, Mike Bower came by to see what was going on and between the two of them, they not only figured out what the problem was, they literally fixed it on the spot! I am so thankful I chose to go to The Lube Center on 85/Buckeystown Pike and will continue to go to this location as I appreciate the care displayed to customers. Thanks again Guys!! I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Next thing I know my car is being sprayed with oil from the right bay. It was spraying out from the station and the technician (Ryan) was clueless that it was happening, until my technician Tim saw it. It sprayed all across my car and into the left bay. Tim tried to wash off the oil as much as he could but sadly I ended up having to do it by hand when I got home. Tiffany gave me 3 free car wash cards even though you already get one when you go there and you can't even use more than 1 card at a time. What a joke. Everyone was so concerned with the oil everywhere else but the customer's car. Even the assistant manager Corey didn't do anything about it. I understand things happen but an apology or some sort of compensation would have gone a long way. Tim apologized thought it wasn't his fault or mess to clean up. I am a firm believer that frequent engine oil change keeps mechanics away from your car engine. The Lube Center keeps this effort easy, as I can replace engine oil and top it up after a few months, anytime, for free. That way I ensure oil is always enough and fresh. I have been visiting them regularly and it appears that they have become better with more staff, friendlier service and provides a lot more smaller, subtle services you have to do for your car someday as a bonus all for free. It doesn't hurt that they use a vacuum to suck out the oil so it is very clean than having a pan on the floor. Seeing the bottom of my car pristine and sparkly using the video cam underneath the car is a given. Feeling like a pit stop in my car journey every six month is a given. Drive-in without waiting on a Sunday at MY downtime is a given. Discount from being member for auto spa express is a given. But here are some new bonus services I noticed this month: Checking and adding tire pressure while I wait in the car is a nice bonus service. Topping up windscreen washer fluid is a given, but them carefully topping it up to the brim is a nice bonus. A genuine smile by Paul and other technician thanking you for the visit- gosh that is just so rare these days- is an unexpected bonus. Having this quality of a Lube Center in Frederick is therefore an absolute bonus. read more

The staff here is excellent and quick while efficient as well. Jordan the technician was great. Offered suggested service but was not pushy on the sales pitch. After not being able to get an appointment at the dealership I took my vehicle here to get an oil change. Under the impression of a 20-30 minute experience I found myself there for almost an hour and I got a bonus of them trying to tell me the people who previously changed my oil stripped the pan which is more then unlikely given I'd not had oil on my driveway until dealing with these unqualified people. I requested an oil change, something I usually do myself. I was on the road and dropped in. There were three people in front of me. Malik was awesome! Super friendly and fast. He was patient with me and helped explain things I didn't understand. I had another tech replace a headlight that some shops refused to do without removing the bumper. This saved me time and money. The manager on duty didn't try to sell me shit I didn't need. I live in DC but visit Frederick often. I've used similar shops in MoCo and in DC. I feel the prices here were maybe 10-20% cheaper for similar work. To may dismay I have sadly found myself having to change my once 5 star review to a one star review. I am not familiar with the other Lube Center stores under the WLR Automotive Group ,Inc corporate umbrella, I can only speak to the one located at Buckeystown Pike Frederick Md.My most recent two visits at this location has given me an indication that something has fundamentally changed within that store. The customer service with my very last visit certainly was not indicative of my previous 5 star review of three years ago. My experience was disappointing at best, literally had an employee focus so much on what was done to my vehicle in the past by the Lube Center that she lost focus on what I wanted on this visit, which was their highest dollar oil change package, her focus seemed to be elsewhere, her tone was rude and her behavior less than desirable from a consumer point of view. I asked to see a manager and she located a "Supervisor " and began to speak nastily about me, out in the open, in plain view of God and Country, the "supervisor " at no time tried to have the conversation with her in private. When I did speak to the "supervisor " his professionalism was much less than satisfactory , when asked if he was the store manager his response was"I can be" , a statement I did not like, when confronted about his statement I got the "whatever" response.I did speak to the "managing partner" the next day, he was not fully prepared, informing me the last time I had conducted business at the Lube Center was in the year 2020, off the mark for sure. I felt as if he was going through "the motions" and what I was saying was of little value. I ended the first conversation with " I always enjoy being placated ", his response to that remark was none. I called him back and asked him if he heard my final closing remark I made at the end of our last conversation, he said yes, I then repeated the remark, his reply was " well I really don't know what placated means", ok that's fair, but if you really had an interest in what the consumer is saying wouldn't you have asked me what I meant by that remark or at least ask me to elaborate ? When I said I probably won't be back for their services in the future his response was "ok" , no effort to salvage my relationship with the Lube Center, a relationship that I apparently valued more than he. On a positive note the Auto Spa which is owned by WLR on Rt 40 was awesome, couldn't ask for a more superb experience, and the front desk lady at their corporate offices was stellar, you could tell she cared and was proud to be a member of the WLR team. The lady that handles customer service experiences corporately was also no less than stellar, maybe these two ladies should be charged with the duties of teaching customer service and active listening skills to some members of the Lube Center on Buckeystown Pike, I felt heard with both ladies, had I been initially heard I am sure my experience would have been much different and my review would have remained five star, most regrettably I now wish Yelp had a zero star rating, zero stars would be most applicable with my recent interaction. All this because an employee literally had an issue with me wanting the highest dollar oil change package and wanting to pay for it, as I see it a win for everyone but unfortunately a concept lost, then to have the situation of poor customer service compounded by a "supervisor" who is in dire need of customer service coaching,then to have it all culminate with a conversation with the "managing partner" who clearly wasn't prepared, which even made me feel less valued, and who was in my view really not concerned with anything else other than hearing his own voice. Breaks my heart always when I see an opportunity to correct a situation wasted, to see a loyal customer lost, that is just plain sad for everyone. So sad ,I wanted to remain a loyal customer but I guess for that particular Lube Center it's far easier to find new clients versus maintaining and appreciating existing loyal customers.Now I will use another place, unfortunately not another WLR Lube Center, and that bothers me, I like being loyal, I want to be loyal, and now I'm forced to go elsewhere, that really is disappointing. read more

This business damaged my rear wiper arm. I tried to get them to respond with 3 visits to the store and an email. The manager basically called me a liar on my 3rd trip to get a response. So... I sued. What do ya know... they responded!!! We went to court on 10/11/22 and i won a judgement for nearly $200. They did not appeal the verdict. Today is 61 days later. Have they sent me a check for the money? Of course not... because this is how they do business. Steer clear of The Lube Shop. This is a very disreputable business. read more
