Arrived on a Sunday around 2:30pm, it was pretty busy with 6 cars in-front of me but the line went surprisingly fast! The manger greeted me, asked if I was there for an oil change and directed me inside the facility for my oil change. The technician Michael greeted me and offered any water or anything else to drink. We had to oil change today and my wife's Nissan rogue. Michael, our technician was extremely helpful and friendly and put my wife at ease with everything he was doing. I have used other lube centers and Frederic and found them very accommodating as well, but Michael went out of his way to date or good customer service something that you don't see that often nowadays. read more

Brought my car to this location for the first time. Didn't realize they had a drive-thru service. Will bring my vehicle there from now on for service. Note: This review is NOT for service or repairs. West Patrick St. location. We do our own maintenance and most repairs, so I have not had any work done at The Lube Center. I am giving them a positive review for allowing me to recycle about 20 gallons of oil that we had accumulated over the years. Most places restrict the amount to 5 gallons. Not the end of the world, but it means more trips. The guys were very polite and even helped me with the 5 gallon jugs of oil. It was nice to get rid of it all at once. So for that alone, I'm giving them 5 stars. However, having just read the 1-star reviews, I have to say I'm very disappointed. It seems that -- like many/most corporate chain shops -- they are padding their profits by taking advantage of people who do not know much about cars. As a technician, that makes me very angry. I even thought about opening my own shop to counter those tactics. If they are ripping customers off, I hope the state comes down hard on them. Years ago, the Attorney General's office actually performed a sting operation in which they would take cars that they had pre-inspected to various shops to see what they would recommend. Unsurprisingly, many of them claimed that a bunch of unnecessary work needed to be done. BUSTED! The AG's office needs to make that sting a regular operation -- and shut down repeat violators. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. As someone who is not a car person, they make me feel heard and fix my problems. From oil changes, tag lights, flat tires- the works. I trust their expertise and never feel as though I'm being taken advantage of. Every single person I've come into contact with has been wonderful and never made me feel dumb. I went here a week ago because I got a nail in my tire and it was deflating rapidly! Thank god they were close by. Mike helped me and didn't charge me a thing! Just told me to come back and get oil changes here from now on. I had been going to jiffy lube for oil changes but after that I vowed to only use this shop. Of course a day later my oil light came on so I went back and they just give the BEST service. I was in shock at how friendly and helpful they were and TRUSTWORTHY, that's important when you're a young girl who doesn't know much about cars. The whole crew today had great customer service from start to finish and seemed to be enjoying the job while having great attitudes. Went in because the oil change light and the tire pressure light were both on. Paid for an oil change that included a tire pressure check. After I left both the oil change and tire pressure light are still on. I think they just faked the oil change. Requested a refund and will find another place to have my services done. read more

I've visited The Lube Center twice, both times for an oil change, and have always left satisfied with my experience. In my most recent visit, I was greeted by the Frederick Lube Center manager, Adam. He was extremely welcoming and offered us beverages as we sat in our car waiting for the oil change. From there, we were greeted by the cashier, Kate. She was just as welcoming and asked for some basic information on my vehicle before they got started. I had a $10 coupon for a synthetic oil change, so the total price was $68. In my experience, this is pretty affordable for a full synthetic oil change. The technician who worked on my car, Malcolm, was very informative and although I turned down some of the services he offered, he made sure to explain why he was recommending each one. He did not pressure me into purchasing anything, which was a nice change for an auto shop! The oil change took about 15 minutes to finish. I was 100% satisfied with the customer service and the work they did on my car. I would recommend checking this place out for your auto needs. read more

After this company finally admitted to ruining my rear differential they are now refusing to use new parts to correct a problem that THEY CREATED. After I was BLATANTLY lied to by the smug and not very smart lube center employee repair manager. They said there was grinding in the differential and the same day i surprised them showing up, rode in the car with them where the noise was UNDENIABLE. IVE NEVER SEEN THIS KIND OF DISHONESTY in any form of business. After being called red handed like bad little children in their lies they are telling me I have to the difference for a new part that THEY destroyed. The manager has even undermined the corporate office after I called the higher ups to resolve the problem. I suggested to corporate that Land Rover themselves fix my car. Upon learning this the idiot manager tried to revoke my rental saying like a stupid child and I quote, oooo since you want to go to Land Rover we should pull you from the rental! If corporate really new about this idiot he'd be fired by now. So now I will figure out the difference and see where I want to go from here. I will be updating this review upon further developments with this rat company. Cheese eating bastards. Well. I've just gotten off the phone with corporate. Even though they serviced the transfer case and differential they are refusing to replace the transfer case even after admitting they have compromised both components. I'm being pushed now because lube center no longer wants to pay for my rental after THEY made the mistake and destroyed my car which I need to support my family. I will continue to fight and have them replace all parts that THEY have compromised. I will post an update soon read more

I absolutely love the route 40 Lube Center. I have been going for a few years now but each time I go there everyone is SO nice, and takes their time. Yesterday I went to get an oil change and had a few leaks under my car. They took the time to take pictures to show me exactly what's going on, and helped me understand the issue!! The price is worth it with the great work they do and all the nice staff, and they always address every concern you may have about your car. I've never come across one person who seems unhappy or anything along those lines. I used to think getting an oil change was such a chore but these people are so kind, quick and easy to work with that I don't mind going anymore! Thank you so much!! Be extremely cautious when you go to this facility. I went in for an oil change and was deliberately lied to. The guy pulled out a belt and told me I needed a new serpentine belt and he also mentioned I needed to flush my engine due to water build up. The most imperative point to all of this, is that the belt did not come from or belong to my vehicle. My uncle does my body work as well as my auto repairs and any major servicing and had just changed all of my belts within the last 30 days. The guy asked if I wanted to come and look at the water in my engine and as I got out of the vehicle I asked about this belt that he showed me and where he got it from. He looked inquisitively into my engine area and could not show me where this belt went. The belt was frayed and very deteriorated however no where did this belt belong or come from my car. He looked around my engine area I asked if he could please put the belt back on my car because it worried me that I would be driving without a belt. He made it sound as if this belt needed to be replaced immediately due to safety. Instead of putting it back on my vehicle he threw it in the trash. This was the most ridiculous and most blatant lie I have ever endured at a business. He did try showing me the water in my engine however when I looked there was absolutely no water in my engine nor where he was showing me. Just because I'm a female does not mean that I'm a freaking idiot. This might be the most scariest thing ever to know that you can be lied to and or scared into doing services at this facility when they really are not necessary at all! I think i will be passing this info onto some other folks... Will have to see if we can open pandoras box!!! read more

I went in here thinking this place was going to be great. Oil changes while you wait. Drive right in, get your oil changed, be on your way. 10 mins, no hassle. They even gave me a $5 coupon when I checked in on Yelp. SCORE. But I got a lot of hassle. The minute they saw I was a young woman, the hustle began. Oh, all your fluids need to be changed. Oh, your battery needs to be replaced. Oh, you can't drive out of here without a new air filter. They tried to sell me $500+ of things I don't really need. Luckilly I checked with my husband, who is an amateur mechanic, and he explained that this is a work done to people (Read: women) who they think don't know any better. So as a result of that hustle, my oil change took almost 30 mins instead of 10, and I left very annoyed. And got even more annoyed when my husband pointed out that he goes there for oil changes all the time with our cars, and they never try to pull that stuff on him. I will be finding a Jiffy Lube for my next oil change. read more

I am a frequent customer to this location and I've got to say this past experience was amazing. Adam, I believe was his name, was the supervisor that I spoke with over the phone. He was extremely helpful and courteous. When I arrived he immediately recognized my vehicle and came over to say hello and shake my hand. The service representative, Malcolm, took great care of my vehicle and myself. He was knowledgeable about my concerns and explained it all in great detail. Just visiting through Frederick when our oil light popped up. Wow, simply WOW! There were a line of cars waiting for a quick "10 minute change" but that was hardly an issue. The cashier was making rounds to each vehicle to get information, and she asked if we needed anything to drink (water, juice, or coffee). Lauren was more than helpful when we had a question about the oil menu. During the oil change, Charles helped us and provided the same amazing hospitality. I didn't wait at all. Went right in. Went through the process. Synthetic oil change and check up. Then went to fill my gas tank and check my tire pressure. All 4 tires were below 32 psi which is the recommended pressure. Got air at the gas station. Went home and told my son who told me that poo art of my check up should have been my tire pressure. DARCIE D-----OMG! They did the same thing to me about the belt. I was told that I needed a new serpentine belt cause mine was cracked in several places and could break at any time. So they told me to go to the Auto Store, ( next to Rugged Warehouse) and buy the belt and for $40, they would install it. So I did. Then about 2 visits passed, and went in for oil change, and was told that my Serpentine Belt was ready to crack. IMMEDIATELY I got defensive and said, you just changed it 5 months ago. He looked through computer and told me flat out, NO YOU DIDNT HAVE IT CHANGED. I said, are you calling me a liar? So after 15 minutes, I found MY RECEIPT OF THE BELT PUT ON. They never found it on theirs. So what happened was, the Dude pocketed the $40'and did it under the table. So after it was cleared up, they became. very quiet. and retracted the I NEED A BELT STATEMENT. Imagine that, all of a sudden my belt is in perfect condition!!! YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. They are scamming people with repairs not needed and are NOT DOCUMENTING THEM. I have like 3 years of receipts from them and I am taking my copies up to The Lubes shop, and demand that they cross reference their records with mine! How many more discrepancies will I find between my records and theirs? read more

I went to get the oil changed in my mom's car today and was met with the most positive group of people. If anyone needs to learn customer service skills I recommend this place. The mechanic changing my oil, Shawn, came over and introduced himself. Offered me coffee while I waited. Then the cashier, Zikia, came over and offered me something to drink. I will never use The Lube Center again, despite having them do my oil changes for many years. Yesterday I visited them to find out why one of my tires would not hold air. Two mechanics looked at it and told me that that "it was dry rotted." When I expressed my disbelief that it was dry rot, I was told that "it's not uncommon to find dry rot on older tires." Then they advised me to replace the tire, along with the other front tire because "it's a good idea to replace them both at the same time." Let me add here that the tires are TWO years old with less than 20,000 miles on them. Bottom line, I took my car to Costco's service department where it was determined that I didn't have any dry rot, I had a nail in my tire, and they fixed it for $11.14 total. This is the second time I was give incorrect information at The Lube Center, and avoided spending lots of money needlessly by getting a 2nd opinion, they will not get a 3rd chance to deceive me. read more

I drive a Mini Cooper. Been in a couple of times to try to get the oil changed. 1st time they didn't have filter or correct tools. Today I went again after ordering filter and having checked 2 weeks ago to make sure they had the right tool to perform an oil change. But today they could not get hood open and said they had a couple of the tools needed but not all of them. I had the feeling that they just did not want to perform the service. The manager said it would take at least 1/2 hour (which was fine with me), then he was supposed to google how to get hood opened but didn't do that and then he said that they would have to remove a couple of things to get to the filter so no oil change was done. We have always bought our cars here for the oil changes and never had an issue and to be honest, we have had good service. I believe the manager just did not want to work on this model of a car. I think that this is the last time I will bring any of our cars here for an oil change. read more

Even though I am a girl, they did not try to sell me a bunch of services, went over all of the oil change options and helped me pick the most reasonable one, which is, as opposed to the Germantown location, wasn't also the most expensive one. Explained the routine work that needs to be done, asked (only once!) if based on the routine work, there is anything that I would like to get done today and sent me on my way - 15 minutes all together even though they seemed very busy and the cars kept coming in at a steady pace. My 16 year old son took his truck in for an oil change. The Lube Center charged him $260, after telling him his truck wouldn't run without the "services it needs." They COMPLETELY took advantage of him. When I confronted the owner, he said they did it because my son "agreed to the services". Once again, they took complete advantage of someone that was just in for a regular oil change and was trusting of them. The least they could of done was ask my son for adult approval, prior to charging him for services that he obviously did NOT need. I hate getting any service done to my car. Anytime I go somewhere I feel as a woman they try to sell me a bunch of junk I don't need just to make money off the dumb girl who knows nothing about cars. But at the Lube Center that's not the case, I came in for an oil change and that's exactly what I got. They did a service intake to assess what could help my car run better but didn't push the issue with getting any of the services. Another time I came in they priced me for a service at around $129 but since my car was diesel it was going to be $30 more, they didn't charge me the extra $30 because he said he already told me another price. I have seriously mixed feelings about this place. I get that they probably receive commission for stuff but when I say I'm in a hurry and just want an oil change I mean I ONLY WANT AN OIL CHANGE. I have family that works on my car for me but I've been here twice. Once because when I first got my car (it was used) we couldn't change the oil ourselves because the bolt for the oil pan had been sheared. I went all over the place (except dealership because I'm not dealing with that hassle) and no one would touch it because it was a liability. On a whim I stopped here on my way home from work. I had everything with me from where I had planned to have my dad do it. I had the oil, filter, and a new bolt. I pulled in and explained the situation to a very nice gentleman. He had my oil changed and the new bolt on in a flash. Even showed me the old mangled bolt so we could have an eye roll together. Since I had everything with me he didn't even charge me. Seriously, that's customer service. I generously tipped him and went on my way. Then I proceeded to tell everyone about how awesome that guy was, because everyone knows the best marketing is word of mouth. Since I had such a great experience the first time I decided to go back again before I took off on a trip to Ohio with my boyfriend. It was a last minute decision to change my oil before the leaving so I figured, what the heck. It's literally right around the corner from my bfs house. At any rate the guy that met me out front was really nice. I told him that I hadn't been there in a while and this was only my second time there. He was polite and ran down the list of everything they do. I pointed out that my car was just cleaned and I literally only needed an oil change. I left him my keys and went to sit in the lobby. After about 15 minutes I was called back and thought "sweet that was fast" but it turns out they weren't finished. That's when I got the "oh you need this this and this and the expensive oil. Are you sure you don't want this and this done." I politely explained I was on a time limit and I'd consider that stuff for next time just so that we could move things along. Another 15 minutes and my car was finally done. The girl at the front desk was super sweet. Loved her. Anyways during my trip my car began to overheat. I was totally out of coolant. I refilled it and haven't had a problem since. There was no leak or anything. I went in for a simple oil change, which ended up being about 50/60 bucks. I left with new oil and coolant that magically disappeared. I wish I knew where that guy from my first experience there works. I'd go to him for everything. Very disappointed that it took 30 minutes and a sales pitch just to have a simple oil change, especially after making it painfully clear I was in a hurry and wanted the bare minimum done. read more

This place is wonderful! The moment I pulled up to the door, I was greeted with a smile. The staff made me feel welcomed and answered all my concerns. My car has a tricky side maker light located near the tire and Marvin was able to change it with no problem; which other places indicated I would need to remove my tire in order to access it. Adam and Marvin were able to give me price quotes quickly and didn't try to upsell. While my oil was being changed, Adam, Josh and Marvin continually asked if I needed anything and made it a great experience. I highly recommend this Lube Center! read more

I contracted with The Lube Center for an automobile oil change. The oil change was not completed in full. The Lube Center failed to advise me of the incomplete status of the oil change. The Lube Center falsely represented the fully completed status of the oil change. I paid The Lube Center for what was stated to be a completed oil change. The Lube Center's failure to complete the oil change caused damage to the automobile. The Lube Center's negligence caused the automobile to require repair. I have sustained actual damages for breach of contract, negligence, willful misrepresentation, detrimental reliance and fraud due to The Lube Center. The Lube Center has not assumed responsibility for its actions and is being sued in small claims court. I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more
